My son, daughter-in-law, grandson (11) and granddaughter (8) spent a delightful Thanksgiving at Casita Suerta. The location was great. Nice and quiet and a doable walk to the Plaza. We brought a turkey and all the fixings with us. We kept a fire going in the little beehive fireplace and played games, read and watched a movie or two. It was the perfect spot to unwind for a few days.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi, Dana and Linda; Thanks for the delightful stay at your casita last week!! It was just what Maggie and I needed to get away, reconnect and relax. What a great place and location! I will definitely recommend to anyone I know that is coming to Santa Fe. I hope to be back with my husband sometime this summer or fall. Can you tell me where you bought the copper sun light that is on the wall in the dining room? I loved how the light reflected on the wall from this light! Take care- thanks again! Dana and Linda have provided a wonderful place to stay in Santa Fe. It is located near the Plaza and near a main road we used to head to Taos and other parts of that area. The casita is nicely appointed and has everything you might need. We like to "hang out" on our vacations and this was a perfect place for that. Nice job, ladies!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the nice comment we so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll join us again next time you are in Santa Fe!

What a perfect place for three girlfriends from across the country to meet up and spend time! Santa Fe was a wonderful little city to walk about and enjoy looking in all the shop windows. And the food! But the best part was coming back to the casita where we could just lounge about comfortably, and sleep in a quiet neighborhood. No noisy hotel guests in hallways and elevators to wake us up at all hours. We had a great time, and would love to come back someday. Thanks Dana and Linda!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Dear Linda & Dana, We've had a wonderful girls weekend at your Santa Fe casita! We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. Everything was so comfortable...exactly what we were looking for in our home away from home......and its perfect location. We enjoyed walking in downtown, looking at the many galleries and checking out the sights. El Farol, has great tapas! We highly recommend going! Bandalier National Monument is absolutely beautiful; and we only found out it was nearby because of the brochure in the casita! If any of us ever come back to Santa Fe, we'll definately stay here! Thanks so much! Melissa - Dallas, TX, Summer - San Jose, CA - Leslie - Santa Clara, CA - Shawn, San Diego, CA - Jeanette, Santa Clarita, CaDid you find this review helpful? We had a fabulous week here with our best friends & our favorite Aunt. Our friend's casita wasn't nearly as nice as ours so they hung out over here a lot. I loved all the little surprises - wasn't expecting such interesting art and also loved the furniture. My background is in interior design & ambiance is sooooo important to me. (just one of my many quirks). We loved the lighting as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/4

El Farol
"The oldest bar in town and a mixture of all sorts, from locals, artists, tourists, Natives, you name it. Typically live music every night. Check to see what kind, its always changing. The restaurant is famous for Tapas and of course Flamenco in the summer. Can get a bit wild on the weekends, but is great people watching and fun dancing. "

El Santuario de Chimayo
"A must stop on the high road to Taos. Has a great mystical story and is a Holy Site. At Easter New Mexicans walk from all corners of the state to meet at this Holy Site. Have lunch at Rancho Chimayo just down the road and sample the different chilis for sale at the little markets outside the Sanctuario."

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We've lived in Santa Fe since 1992 and can truly call it our home. We love to travel and stay in other VRBO homes but it's always great coming back to historical Santa Fe New Mexico. Our business is in Santa Fe making it easy for us to manage the property making sure it's perfect when you arrive and we get to meet and greet all the people who come and stay in our wonderful Casita.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Historical Downtown:
We bought our rental property not only for others visiting and wanting a great place to relax and enjoy but also when we need an in-town place, we can stay there and take our dogs on a walk to the Plaza and enjoy eating and drinking at all the great restaurants in the downtown area as all of our visitors do. We live in the county of Santa Fe so it's a great getaway for us too!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our property is inside an off street gated compound accessed via remote control and has 3 add’l. separate Casitas (all little homes within the compound). Ours is just under 1200 sq. ft. and is equipped with everything for a very comfortable stay. Including radiant heated brick floors, 2 bed/2 bath, couch that makes out into a queen size bed, all adobe construction, decorated in very sophisticated Santa Fe style, Kiva Fireplace (with wood), wireless internet and all amenities. You are a 5 minute walk to Albertsons Grocery, Sun Flower Market, Starbucks, restaurants and more. It's only about 10 to 15 minute walk to the historical Santa Fe plaza and 30 plus minutes to the Santa Fe Ski Basin.
