Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2000

We are Marzia, Fiore and Alice, the owners of “Le Manzinaie”. We are an Italian family and moved to Tuscany many years ago from the city of Milan. We wanted a different lifestyle and chose to follow our dreams: - having a gorgeous villa in this region and enjoy the famous sweet Tuscan life! -

We run a friendly, small-family vacation rental where we speak Italian, English and French and we take care of everything here, also because we live on the property and we are always avalable for who needs help or assistance.

Why the Owner Chose Montepulciano

We decided to buy a property in the area of Montepulciano and we found an abandoned farmhouse belonging to the year 1878. It was in very poor conditions but we immediately fell in love with this ruin and started to restore it with great effort, few money but lots of love and imagination! We have always been very fond of our home and recently it has been included in the list of places of historical interest due to its architecture with arches and vaulted ceilings.

As the years passed by, we decided to create few cosy and comfortable units to rent to all those people who, like us, would like to discover our simple amazing beauties and experience a piece of Italian life. Our goal is to introduce to the world this small part of beautiful Italy rich of culture, good food, wine and hospitality. Since we started this job we realised how much we enjoy spending time with our guests. They arrive from all over the world and we do our best to make them feel like home, just like if they were visiting family, but at the same time we are always very respectful of their privacy.

The Unique Benefits of this Farmhouse

We love to take care of our clients and are always available for every necessity they might have: from recommendations on where to go for dinner to suggestions about what to visit in the area, from giving them notions on the villages history to the possibility of tasting our handmade food and wine.

We can also organize wine tasting, cheese tasting in Montepulcano to let our guests have a real and nice taste of the area. It could be interesting to know how wine or cheese is made because you drink or eat it and it's easy, but you usually don't know the exaclty process there is behind these local products.

During the summer time, our guests are allowed to use products coming from our vegetable garden and from our orchad, so they can pick up tomatoes, zucchini, onions, cucumbers, etc. or apples, plums, pears, figs, etc. to prepare tasty dinners. Or they can also use the barbecue and eat all together under the gazebo.

Then, we have a tradition here at “Le Manzinaie”: all guests are invited, at least once during their stay, to our Tuscan family dinner. This is an extraordinary chance to stay all together and have a nice chat while enjoying and tasting the typical Tuscan dishes that we prepare ourselves. It is a great occasion for fun and an excellent way to get to know better terrific people from everywhere in the world! There are no language barriers because Alice can translate in English, French and, of course, Italian, she’s famous for her conversation skills.

Have just returned from Le Manzinaie and can't praise the location and owners enough - it is a delightful spot and nothing is too much trouble for Marzie, Fiore and Alice, even to the extent of all the guests being invited to a meal with the family each week (we were there for 2 weeks so were lucky enough to have two meals with them!). Any destination you wanted to visit was provided with full directions, which were very helpful since the sineage often petered out some way from your goal. This was our second visit and we enjoyed it just as much as the first.

My husband and I spent 1 week at Podere Le Manzinaie and it was certainly a highlight of our trip. Our accomadations were immaculate, old world Italian villas situated amongst beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens. When we arrived we found our villa stocked with everything we needed to begin our stay.. Coffee, milk, juice, wine, eggs, bread and salami, along with 2 sweet rolls for breakfast. An added bonus of this villa is the beautiful pool..nothing is better than touring all day and then taking your wine and towel down to the pool to meet fellow travelers, relax, take a dip and share your Tuscan travel experiences, along with the olives or cheese you bought that day. The central location is perfect for sight-seeing Tuscany . Now I want to tell you what was even better than our accomadations and that was our hosts. We were not treated like clients we were treated as family. Alice and her parents went out of their way to make our experience exceed all expectations. They have recommendations for travel, along with detailed written directions. If you you need assistance they will help you with all directions and reservations. If your relaxing on the patio you're offered a glass of wine. The "feast" they prepare for guests staying a week or longer is beyond ones imagination..there was more delicious food and wine on one table than you can believe. The fun and conversation lasted well into the night/morning..just like you'd expect of a big Italian family. I would stay here again tomorrow ..if I could!! Enjoy your visit.

My wife and I rented a lovely apartment, for a week. The facilities are great, very clean, and comfortable right down to the whirlpool tub. The real jewel is the warm hospitality of Fiore, Marzia and Alice. They have put their heart and souls into Podere Le Manzinaie. They are very helpful and knowledgeable; they explain many helpful hints to really make your trip enjoyable. The location is very suitable for making day trips to many attractions, villages and the train station is easily accessible. Then there is the most memorable night when Fiore, Marzia and Alice cook for the guests! We'll never forget it, niether will you. Great food, great company and plenty of VINO! A visit to Podere Le Manzinaie will undoubtedly be one of the best experiences of your trip.

Seven of our family members traveled to Italy in March, 2011 in what I call "The Trip of a Lifetime" and we all are glad that we made the right decision to spend five days in the country farmhouse apartments at Podere Le Manzinaie near Montepulciano in the Tuscany area. This was one of the greatest experiences of our trip because our wonderful Italian family hosts definitely wanted us to love Italy. And because of them, we do!! When our host family saw us arrive, they immediately came out to greet us and made us feel right at home. Never in any of our previous travels have we ever experienced the sincere hospitality and personal attention that we got from our host family - Fiore, Marzie and Alice. They were wonderful, fun and gracious people. They helped us with all the directions and guidance we needed to travel around the nearby beautiful Tuscany countryside. Our farmhouse was very comfortable, roomy and beautifully decorated. One evening our hosts invited us to a dinner they had prepared especially for us and we had so much fun, delicious Italian food and wine that we hated to leave them and go back to our very lovely rooms. I believe Fiore, Marzie and Alice felt the same way and that confirmed we had made a great decision to stay at Podere Le Manzinaie. If we ever return to Italy - this is the place you will find us! Thank you very much, Fiore, Marzie and Alice. Your Colorado/Wyoming guests.

For the ultimate Tuscan villa experience Podere Le Manzinaie is the perfect place. We have stayed there three times; with our daughter’s new in-laws; with our family of eight to celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary and on our own. Each visit was a highlight experience. The amenities cover all needs and expectations from comfortable beds, scrupulous cleanliness, true old-world architecture, decoration and charm, an impressive approach through iron gates up a 325 foot long avenue of hedges, cypress and hand-wrought lamps to the 1886 villa. The large car park has shaded canopies for protection from the sun. For sun lovers there is a light-drenched lawn with umbrellas and chaises surrounding a sparkling swimming pool. For shade seekers there are three vine-covered pergolas wreathed with fragrant roses. For those wishing privacy there are secluded apartments with personal gazebos tucked behind hedges or under flowering trees. For those who want company there is the beautiful garden to share, cooking lessons to attend then the marvelous conviviality of a communal dinner with the food you have prepared, many wines and much laughter. Thirty years ago this property was a group of derelict buildings in a barren field. Today’s beauty is a product of Marzia and Fiore’s vision, enterprise and hard work. What makes Le Manzinaie unique is the hosts. Marzia is the designer for the villa, an artist and a fabulous cook. Fiore, who can fix anything, has created a fruit orchard and vegetable garden for the visitors’ use. He cooks as well. Alice, their delightful daughter, speaks not only Italian but English and French and is learning Spanish and Mandarin. Their warmth, their friendliness, their genuine concern for your comfort and pleasure make you feel like family, not just clients. Nothing is too much trouble to make your visit enjoyable. The location of the villa is excellent for visiting the surrounding areas of interest and beauty and historical significance. There are printed instructions supplied of how to get there. They provide suggestions of interesting places to see, good restaurants within easy distance. They will book your tickets for galleries, exhibitions, trains or cars. They will arrange transportation to the train station or the airport. We can’t say enough about the care, generosity, friendliness and concern these three wonderful people exhibit to those who come as strangers and leave as friends.
