Our Norris Lake Vacation Rental Home has three floors each with bedrooms and a full bath. We have recently built an additional large three-bedroom, two-bath wing onto the house. This arrangement works very well for one or more families vacationing together.
We can rent the house with all seven bedrooms, or as the original 4BR/3BA arrangement by closing off the new addition. We reserve the right to only rent the full house during the peak season to maximize the use of the entire house.
The main floor consists of a large kitchen, a dining area that opens into the great room, all on hard wood floors. The bedroom has a queen-size bed and dresser. There is also a full bath and a laundry room.
The upstairs has the master bedroom which includes a king-size bed, writing table and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower.
The basement has two bedrooms with two queen beds each. They share a full bath. Outside of the bedroom is a pool table and television.
The new addition consists of a master suite with king bed and its own bathroom. Two additional bedrooms each have two queen beds and doors opening to the lakeside deck. The bedrooms share the second bathroom in the addition.
The large kitchen has all modern amenities including two refrigerators (see features below).
The smoke-free house is located where the Powell River and Davis Creek meet, about ten minutes down river from Flat Hollow Marina, and 15 minutes north of Springs Boat Dock. Both marinas have pumps, watercraft for rent and a grill. Additionally, you may bring your own boat and dock it in one of two covered slips provided at the base of the stairs leading from the house to the lake. The nearest ramp to launch a boat is a half mile from our driveway.
If you enjoy recreation on the lawn, there is a half-acre area beside the driveway ideal for horseshoes, crocket, badminton or the like.
This Norris Lake Vacation Rental has over 240 feet of shoreline and is set on five acres for maximum privacy. You will enjoy exploring the beautiful blue-green waters that span more than 800 miles of shoreline covering 34,000 acres. Across the lake from the house is the Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area, which occupies 24,444 acres on the Central Peninsula on the east shores of Norris Lake. Sit on the wraparound deck facing the lake and enjoy the tranquility.
It is an everyday occurrence to see deer, turkey and a lot of other animals feeding and watering all around the lake. That is what makes Norris Lake an ideal environment for nature lovers, sportsmen and vacationers alike.
There is always something to do on the lake! The fishing is great here at Norris Lake, year round and offers an abundance of Striped Bass (rockfish), Largemouth, Small-Mouth and Spotted Bass, the Walleye, Crappie, Catfish and Bluegill (bream).
Not quite the fisherman? Not a problem. There are plenty of things to do on site at Norris Lake or in the surrounding area. Listed below are just a few of things you might find.

Four families and a lot of fun! (7 adults, 2 children) We loved the layout of the house, which allowed not only personal space, but temperature zones as well. The house had more than adequate space for everyone to park in a perfect spot, whether on the deck, in the living room, or down on the dock. The boat launch was super accessible and convenient plus the dock has a manageable number of stairs. Swimming from the dock was lovely and the water just divine. This house is obviously loved and cared for personally, as there were many touches one doesn't often find in a rental unit. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the house in good repair. My heat loving dad enjoyed the master suite and those who love sleeping refrigerator style thought the basement was perfect! Bathrooms on each floor made sharing among four families quite doable! The only things I think this place is missing is a clothes line on the lower back porch, and some food storage containers (tupperware/gladware, etc.). Several light bulbs were burned out, but it didn't affect us much. **Cell phone reception is NOT very strong - only the Verizon phone among us got a fair signal. AT&T/Sprint had none. Addition of wifi would make this a perfect spot!! Our only single (and unanimous) complaint was the super slippery sheets and comforters, while although warm, constantly slipped off the beds during the night. Also, I would recommend that the instructions to the house for anyone towing a boat should suggest the SECOND right, vs. the first because the second street has only two hairpins whereas the first has numerous. We were two families with a total of five children ranging in age from 1 1/2 - 9. This home was set up very well for two or three couples and their children to share. It was great to have a bathroom on each floor! The kitchen was very well stocked and even had a bread pan! The lake was fantastic and made for some great wakeboarding! There were not any long boat rides to find good water because it was everywhere! There were marinas with restraunts nearby if desired. the home was well maintained and clean. There was an issue with the fridge and the owner was very accomodating and helpful! One reccomendation for the owner is to get some egg crates for the beds as the mattresses felt a little "loved".Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hello Kristi, Since you've been here, we have made some nice upgrades to the house which addressed your constructive comments. I really appreciate the feedback. Not only have we replaced all the mattresses in house, we’ve also made a new bedroom in the basement. Both bedrooms in the basement now have two queen beds each and direct access to the bathroom Jack-and-Jill-style. We’ve also carpeted the entire basement and steps. Something to look forward to… This fall, we are putting an addition onto the house off the kitchen. There will be three additional bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom will be a master with its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms will have two queen beds each, and doors opening up to the lake-side deck. With the addition, that will bring the house to seven bedrooms and five baths. We’re putting an additional refrigerator in to accommodate the twenty-two people that can sleep there. Both covered boat slips will be available to renters as well. We hope you can grab more family and friends and come back down in 2013. Pete
