Just 5 short steps to the front porch. Relax on the covered deck over a rushing creek. Sit in the hot tub and melt your stress away. Beautiful new two bedroom (master bedroom has 1 queen size bed/ other bedroom has 1 full size bed) one bath cabin. A log bridge takes you over the creek to the grill/picnic area.
Relax in the living room in front of the fireplace or watch satellite TV (Starz movie channels included!!!)
Forget the bottled water! We have fresh cold wonderful mountain well water! Cook your favorite meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. You don't even have to hand wash your dishes. There is a dishwasher for your convenience.
**Note: There is NO phone in this cabin. You will need to bring your cell.
This cabin is equipped with central heat & air, and a washer & dryer. The only things you need to bring are your clothes, toiletries & food.
Small pets (up to 30 lbs)are allowed with non-refundable deposit. Dogs MUST be leashed when outside. Clean up after your pet (inside & out). The groundskeeper (my husband) is very adamant about this!
Just minutes away from shopping, casino, golf, whitewater rafting, skiing, horseback riding. 1/4 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy access (paved) driveway and cabin.

We were absolutely THRILLED with our cabin! There are just so many thoughtful & homey touches! The cabin was SPOTLESS - including the bathroom - which is neglected in most places - even nice hotels. The bed(s) are comfortable as is the furniture in the living area. We thoroughly enjoyed our tubbing by the creek! It was so peaceful - just what we needed to celebrate our 12th Anniversary and my husband's 50th birthday. Even our dogs had a great time exploring! Thank you for the perfect getaway and all the suggested places to eat and visit - they were all "SPOT ON." (We'd like to pass on to other guests that eating at the Balsam Inn is wonderful!) Dave and Shirlene - you can be sure we will be back again and again! We have already booked two more visits for this year! Thanks for making us feel so welcome!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had a great time hiking on the parkway, going to the Biltmore Estate, and relaxing in the hot tub! The creek added such a nice touch!! Dave & Shirlene: What a wonderful time we have had in your "super clean and comfy cabin"! We will surely visit again. Had a wonderful time visiting the many craft fairs during this time of year. The leaves were beautiful--especially on the Parkway. Hope everyone who visits goes up through Maggie Valley to Cataloochee to see the elk. What a sight even though the ride was a bit "hairy". It was worth it! Once there, the ranger told us it is even better on cloudy days. We will be back!

Shirlene & Dave: Not having met you face-to-face (since you'r at the Grand Canyon!) we know you are special people to have fixed up these darling cabins so beautifully, comfortably, with everything handy anyone could need! What a joy to come into a place to find it so perfectly taken care of! So cozy with the knotted pine panelling; loved using the fireplace, listening to that great creek, relaxing in the hot tub. Balsam is a lovely area so away from the "rush" of things. It's been a great 5 days (we were lucky to book) so we'll be back and look forward to meeting both of you. We (by the way) loved the Grand Canyon but these NC mountains are hard to beat! Thank you for a very special time.

Our trip to the cabin was something we anticipated for months. We love the couch! It is just the perfect size for two to nap. We are off to the store...Saturday we drove to Uncle Bill's Flea Market and went shopping in Bryson. What a great place. We had a great day and came back to the cabin, relaxed in the hot tub (we LOVE the hot tub!) and made dinner. Sunday we went to Deep Creek to hike and see the waterfalls; it was SO beautiful! We probably hiked a good 3 miles or so and then stopped for a picnic lunch. Got back around 5:30, started dinner and yet again, the hot tub was irresistable so we hopped in and relaxed. Dinner was great and we loved that we didn't have to go out to eat. Here it is Monday morning & we don't want to go! We have really enjoyed being here; it truly is a home away from home. We will be back for sure. Everything about this place reminds me to thank God for all my blessings; you, Dave & Chris and the cabin are included. Thanks again!

Enjoyed exploring this part of NC! The Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, biking on the Blue Ridge, Cherokee, all very enjoyable. If you're a biker, find time to go to the Wheels Museum in Maggie Valley. Evenings were peaceful, hot tub relaxing!

Dave & Shirlene: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. We couldn't have picked a better place for our mother-daughter getaway. We explored the surrounding area quite a bit - the Biltmore Estate, Cherokee, Chimney Rock - but we always looked forward to returning to the "Sit N' Whittle" at the end of the day. And, of course, we indulged in the hot tub EVERY night!! We truly appreciate your hospitality and helpfulness--we are especially grateful for your kind help w/ our flat tire!
