My family group stayed here Christmas 2005. The house was wonderful. It really did comfortably fit 13 people. There were multiple spaces for groups to gather and visit, watch tv, etc., without disturbing one another. I don't think the listing photos do the house justice! In 2005, the master had a king plus a twin bed in a very large room big enough for a couple and child. I think there were 2 rooms with sets of twin beds, and 3 rooms with queen beds. The kitchen was well equipped. The eating nook in the kitchen overlooks the back garden and koi pond, it easily seats 6 people-it was our favorite morning spot to eat breakfast while it was still dark outside. There were plenty of towels. The outside shower was really nice for rinsing after swimming at the beach. We used the grill regularly. My dad and brother started each morning with shore fishing at the park at dawn. Check in was easy, the lady who met us at the house gave us a tour of all the need-to-know details of the house, and left her phone number for us to contact her if needed. We had no problems (just be aware that the washing machine drains into the utility sink so don't leave towels in the sink!). The house is on the road to Kailua Beach Park, about 2 blocks from the entrance Even though it is on a main road, the house feels private, quiet, and secure because of a gated perimeter fence around the house, pool and gardens, and a brick wall around the parking area. There is a little shopping center next door. The shave ice shop was great-we just never seemed to be around when it was open so we only enjoyed it once! There was also a Korean BBQ shop with very good take-out. We loved our visit to Kailua and are trying to figure out how to get a big enough group together to rent this house again!
