You have found what is probably the best location on property. This is unit D201, so it is second floor above the pool, beachfront. Since it is a corner unit, you can see all the way down the beach to your left, or stare straight out towards STJ and the BVI. Only the unit directly above offers such a wide expansive view of the property. And with the corner units, you get extra windows and a much larger porch. The extra windows not only allow more natural light, but also allow for better air flow regardless of the wind direction.
You may also know that building D is the first to be renovated, and as of late 2013, the only building completed. It looks WONDERFUL! New tile at the entry and porch, all of the wood is stained and looks great, fresh paint everywhere. It really does look great!!
As for the unit itself: it is a typical studio in great condition. It has not had extensive remodeling, but it does have some. The bathroom has been re-tiled, and the tub removed for a nice new large shower stall that looks great. Furniture has been replaced or reupholstered. The old entertainment center was removed and a new one placed with large flat screen TV attached and able to be rotated for viewing from the bedroom area. There is also a small TV in the bedroom area on the desk.
If you are not familiar with Sapphire Beach Resort, the layout is as follows: enter, and there is a bathroom on your left, with double sinks, toilet, and shower. on your right is a large double closet for usage by guests, along with an adjacent locked closet (smaller) for cleaning/paper supplies and owners belongings. Moving towards the water you enter the bedroom area, which has a king bed with large headboard (built in shelves) on your left, and a functional desk/chair on your right. This is where we keep the modem for Wifi (you can plug in directly or use wirelessly free of charge). This entire bedroom area can be closed from the living room area via four large sliders, or keep them open for one large room. Next you have a full kitchen on your right, and dining table on your left (with four seats). Then you have a couch on your left, with the entertainment center on your right. Large sliders open to the porch area, which has a large table and four chairs, along with two lounge chairs. The unit itself is very clean and in excellent condition. It has a brand new owner as of 10/2013, and is now available for vacation rentals.
Sapphire Beach Resort has a great beach for lounging, excellent snorkeling right off the beach, and a marina that offers all sorts of boat trips (fishing, snorkeling, sailing, jet skis, powerboat trips to the BVI, etc...). There is a laundry at the marina for use of guests. The Banana Cabana is a small outdoor grill type restaurant located between the B and C buildings, and another full service restaurant is located a short walk away in Sapphire Village. There are two tennis courts, though as of this writing, they are in poor shape and awaiting some work. A Budget Car rental sits at the main lobby area. Best of all is that SBRM is located only half a mile from the town of Red Hook, which offers the ferry to St. John, restaurants, bars, and shops.
This unit is managed by Real Solutions Real Estate, a full service real estate company on island. Kirk Boeger and Cara Hinton are full time residents and professionals. In other words, this is NOT an absentee owner, the units are well cared for, and management is available should you have any problems or questions.
