On the very tip of the Santiago peninsula the granite outcropping has virtually given birth to this unique villa rising 60 feet above the Pacific Ocean in stunning harmony with its surroundings.
It is part of the upscale community of La Punta, a luxurious gated development offering beautiful vistas, private beach and four lit tennis courts. Casa Acantilado has just been completed and is available to groups large and small, easily accommodating two to 12 adults. Once inside the 300 year old gate designed in India to keep the elephant at bay. You will experience the perfect vacation getaway. Crowning our spacious open air living and dining area is a 1200 square foot palapa, the palm thatched roof. The infinity pool seems to connect with the pristine waters of the pacific ocean, wrap around stairs lead you to sun bathing on our aft deck. Yes, from sunrise to sunset, it reminds you of being on a ship at sea. The glass enclosed gourmet kitchen includes state of the art appliances, extensive granite countertops and a view to die for.
For those who want to take time off from cooking, food and beverages of your choice are available thanks to our personal cook. A list of groceries and favorite foods may be sent before hand so you arrive to a well stocked home.

A tastefully decorated salon and bedroom make up our exquisite secluded master suite which has an enormous private terrace that steps onto the beautiful granite bluff leading you to the tide pools and surf fishing below. There are plentiful gorros attached to the rocks, these are ideal for your favorite pasta or ceviche which can be prepared in your own private kitchen. This suit also has surround sound stereo system, DVD, VCR, along with a private office. Complete with bath, Jacuzzi and bidet.
A separate garden casita with bedroom, private kitchen, outdoor terrace surrounded by garden flowers and gorgeous surfline view is also available.
Watch your favorite movies in our media room, complete with flat screen TV, dish network, satellite TV and DVD. Our video collection is available for your entertainment. For those who still wish to work and relax at the same time our (CAT5) high speed internet wiring is accessible in all suites as well as high speed internet in the palapa, kitchen and deck area.
There are four golf courses nearby and one of them is adjacent to La Punta. The "Mantaraya" golf course was listed as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. It is part of the acclaimed Las Hadas Resort. the other great courses are Islam De Navidad and Tamarindo. Pena Blanca: huge white rock (Peña Blanca) rising out of the ocean in the distance christened this beach. During the spring time, the beach is often closed as giant sea tortoises return from the waters to dig nests and lay their thousands of eggs before heading back into the great blue yonder.

Why the Owner Chose Manzanillo
We were going to sail to tahiti and we meet another voyager in Cabo San Lucas. He asked us where we were heading and wnen we said Tahiti he told us he had been around the world twice and that we were in the best crusing grounds in the world right here in Mexico. He explained how great the fishing was and how the Mexican people loved Americans and the close proxsimity to the USA. He advised us to spend a year in mexico so we did.
We traveled extensivily in the Sea of Cortez and the west coast of Mexico we visited virtualy every port small and large in Mexico. When we pulled into Manzanillo I meet the local tennis pro and he introduced me to a real estate broker that showed us Lapunta we were awe struck with the beauty of this developement and wound up purchacing a villa then building Casa Acantilada 2 years later. THe villa reminds us of anchoring in a beautiful anchorage only the villa doesn't rock at night.

Hello Mark, I just wanted to let you know personally what a wonderful vacation we had at Casa Acantilado. Everyone had a great time and we’re all missing Juana’s wonderful meals, those amazing views and Beto’s yummy margarita’s! Thank you for checking in on us and the tuna was amazing! I hope you’ll find the home just as you left it, please let me know if you find anything damaged or left any belongings behind. I’m sure you’ll get more requests to come and stay as the photos are starting to fly out to our jealous friends. It’s just a wonderful house and we’re thrilled we got to celebrate Jonah’s 40th birthday there. I hope we can make it back in the near future. Mark and Kathy, What a wonderful time we had. Your home is just beyond words beautiful!!!! Maria Elana and Gustovo and your wonderful maid took care of us in first-class style. You are truly blessed to have such a caring, dedicated staff. Every need was met beyond our expectations. The weather was just beautiful, always a cool breeze--- we never had to turn the a/c on but one time in the media room. Such a peaceful sleep listening to the sound of the ocean hitting the rocks-----we truly missed the sound when we arrived back home. Thanks to a sound/ocean machine we are trying to cope!!! The guys went out fishing one day; however no luck, Hugo was not available so they ended up going out with another person. The rest of the days were filled with lots of books, many chess games & long walks/runs in the neighborhood. Time passed too quickly, but I guess you hear that quite often. Thank you again for opening your home to us & working with us on the rates. We are also interested in booking a date for 2007-----sometime during the end of Feb or any dates up to middle of May. Our parents of both couples want to come and spend time next year. There would be a total of 8 people.

"It took us almost a week just to catch our breath while staying at Casa Acantilada. Everywhere we turned in the house, the architecture and view took our breath away. Our first glimpse were your fantastic "elephant gates" that open to the property. We thought that we were entering Jurassic Park. Walking into the house for the first time is fantastic. All of the openness of the main level with the infinity deep blue pool that meets seamlessly with the blue Pacific Ocean is spectacular and serene. The bedroom suites were beautifully appointed with wall-to-wall glass doors and elegant marble bathrooms. We liked the bedroom better than most Four Seasons Hotels that we have stayed. Your gourmet kitchen had wonderful aromas mixing with the afternoon breezes. Your cook was so dedicated to please everyone and her authentic Mexican cuisine was the best. Of course, the daily margaritas and cervezas in nearly every room were welcomed after a tennis match or round of golf at Las Hadas. We'll never forget our enjoyable visit and falling to sleep each night with the waves lapping on the rocks below our bedroom balcony. Fran & Tom (April 2005)"

Hello Mr. Barger, Sorry I haven't contacted you sooner but it's hard to get to the computer down here, as I'm sure you are aware. All I can say is I'm so happy I choose your beautiful home for our vacation this summer. It is everything you said and so much more. My family is having a fantastic time. Your staff is superb and we are being very well taken care of. The weather has been perfect and your advice regarding the comfort here was absolutely accurate. The summer heat down here is considerable but the ocean breeze comes up daily before it gets too hot and we have been perfectly comfortable here even during the hottest times of the day. Hi, Were back in the rain unfortunately. To say we enjoyed you lovely home is an under statement. Just to give you an idea of how much we loved it. Except for golf we never left La Punta. We talked about going out to dinner, but when we considered the setting we had at the house with Juana cooking her gourmet treats (all from scratch). Why would we want to? That house of yours is definitely for the rich and famous, and we all wanted to enjoy every minute of it. Maria was wonderful. She kept the place immaculate, and even did our wash. Lucas did every thing for us from caddying on the golf course to filling the golf cart with gas,(thank you for letting us use it) to putting in light bulbs. We played tennis, snorkeled at the beach, and swam in the beautiful infinity pool. I have to tell you being in the design business, I have been in many beautiful homes.
