Minutes from the Somers beach, boat rentals and restaurants, Lion Mountain Chalet is a uniquely designed resort with over 4000 square feet of living space featuring a geodesic dome center. Five A-frame extensions expand the spacious, custom interior. With big windows throughout, there are gorgeous views from everywhere in this wonderful, secluded hideaway.
Situated on 20 private acres of Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine and Tamarac forest, a 1300 square foot loft level features a king-size bed and a large bathroom. The main level has a full bath, bedroom with queen-size bed as well as a pull out queen-size sleeper sofa in the main living room. The spiral staircase leads down to a two-room apartment with a full bath, kitchenette and separate entrance.
From the huge wrap-around deck, enjoy the views of Flathead Lake framed by a backdrop of the Swan and Mission Mountains. Beautiful sunsets lead into breathtaking stargazing. Walk through our private forested trails, or relax around a campfire in the pit surrounded by log benches. Wildlife abounds - deer and birds visit regularly.
Located 45 minutes from Glacier Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness; close to Big Mountain and Blacktail Mountain ski resorts. Abundant water sports with convenient rentals.
An easy 25-minute ride from Glacier National Airport (FCA), the chalet is located near a superb variety of restaurants, galleries and shops in Somers and nearby Kalispell, Bigfork, Whitefish and Polson.

The Chalet at Lion Mtn. was perfect. We enjoyed our week long stay. The weather was great and so was the food and golf. The peacefullness of the Chalet and surrounding area was just what we wanted. We will be staying there again!!

We chose Montana as the place to have our family Christmas get-together this year because we heard that the skiing at Big Mountain was good. Although we expected the skiing to be our Christmas highlight, (and the skiing was very good) our experience in staying at the Lion Mountain Chalet turned out to be the most memorable part of our holiday. My two grandsons, ages 8 & 10, offered to begin to save a part of their allowance during the coming year so that we could have Christmas in the same place again. That sentiment was shared by us all. The floor plan and layout of the chalet really suited our needs, with a beautiful view from every window. I would be interested in buying the chalet if it was for sale.
