  My two nephews and I had the distinct pleasure of spending the first week of 2011 at the Peninsular House. It was even better than described -- what a peaceful and picturesque location! The photos barely do it justice. The house and property were neat and clean. The interior of the house is nicely appointed, with comfortable furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen. Outside, the porches, landscaping, pool and dock are just about perfect. The weather was perfect all but one day, and that day we went to Key West to see the sights. I hope to return in 2012, and would absolutely recommend it to friends and relatives -- in fact I already have!

  Okay, so one week is not long enough!!! Just returned from this lovely home and could not have asked for any better accommodations. The location (Grassy Key) and the secluded environment is top notch! Not to mention ( that I being the type that feels the need to make sure we have everything) really could have left alot behind and avoided the additional baggage. The home is chock full of ammenities and necessities that you would normally find in a home and possibly even a few extras. Some of these items consisted of the kayaks (& vests), plenty of towels, sheets, water-pressure :), kitchenware, bbq (gas) grill, radio-to jam, hammocks to sway in or even take a snooze in one of the many seating arrangements available. Whether you would like to enjoy a beach, bay or pool day- a setting it is available all without having to leave the home!!! The deck is in excellent condition and offers a fish cleaning area with running water and boat tie offs..We seen a nurse shark and a sea turtle around the dock area! David the owner, was very friendly and personable. He responded timely to my original info. request regarding the vacation rental. He was able to provide me with accurate and detailed directions to the home and def. reassured me this was not a scam... In addition, he was more than willing an able to answer any questions or concerns I had regarding the home while in attendance and even offered up several tickets for many of the local attractions available such as the trolley or aquariam. ** A favorite eatery in the area was the 7 mile cafe (located right before you go over the 7-mile bridge, also enjoyed Driftwood pizza & subs located right around the corner from the Peninsular House). There is a a winn-dixie, cvs & kmart less than 15 min. from here too! I would highly recommend this rental if you are seeking a home away from away except -this one offers exquisite sunsets and unforgettable memories. I plan to save the date for next year as long as it is still available! SN: The Absolute Best Part: I was able to bring my dog which completes my family and often its hard to find accomodations for.. so please be courteous and p/u after your doggy so ho continue to allow them in their lovely vacation homes. Thank you David.

  Our family has had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful home twice over the Christmas holidays over the past few years. The privacy and the views are outstanding. Each year the owner has added new amenities to enhance the beauty of this home. We take the kayacks over to the dolphin research center directly across the bay to watch the dolphin show. We relax by the pool and fish off the dock (which has a fish cleaning station and is suitable for tying up a boat). The natural beauty and wildlife that surrounds this private retreat makes this a special place. The next time we go to the Keys (we are hoping to visit in the spring 2012) we will definitely vacation at this beautiful home.

  We have been vacationing at the Grassy Key house for at least 10 years... Its our favorite place to go. Our family always comes with us... as a matter of fact we have raise 2 children and now have our 1st grandchild with us... who calls it is favorite fishing camp!!!! We have even become friends with Dave Thomas who has over the years has even made it more of a summer/winter vacation spot We will continue our yearly visit as long as Dave will have us :)

  We try to visit Peninsular House every couple of years - the last time being very recently. The house is in an idyllic and very private setting and provides great value for money. If you are a nature lover you will simply be spoilt for choice - fish eagles, the occasional manatee, fish of every kind which you can spot from the dock - I could go on and on. The sunsets from the dock are spectacular and the new additions to the house - jacuzzi spa, plunge pool, balcony sun terraces have really made this spot very unique. The house is always clean and well stocked - but the owner David is very accessible if you need anything, which is just great. The last time we visited he arranged for us to use some new kyacks he had purchased, my son absolutely loved it. There are great places to visit nearby for all interests and restaurants to suit any palette and price point. I really can't recommend this place more highly - it is quite simply the only place I relax as soon as I leave Miami airport because I know in a couple of hours I will be at Peninsular House.

  Having read the review from September 2010 I was a bit concerned when my husband booked a weeks holiday at The Penisular House. Thankfully there was no reason for this. Our family (3 generations; ages 6 to 76) had the most wonderful week staying at “The Penisular House”. The house was a relaxing” home from home” with all the necessary home comforts. Everyone had their own space and there were activities to keep everyone happy: - exploring the bay using the kayaks - fishing off the dock - relaxing with a book on the balconies - having fun in the pool and hot tub The owner, Dave, was extremely helpful and only a phone call away. He pointed us in the direction of local days out; our favourites included Sombero Beach, the Dolphin Sanctuary and the Key West Aquarium. We are all now looking forward to our return visit next year.

  This is an amazing, secluded paradise! You drive down a long driveway and are completely secluded. Beautiful water views all around, fantastic sunsets. Lots of room to move around. This completely blows away staying in an overpriced Keys Hotel. For boaters this is the perfect set up. Nice dock, 4 to 5 feet deep at low tide. Protected bay, and easy Ocean access. I will stay here again.

  I wanted to find the perfect place for my wife for our 10 year anniversary. I started looking while I was deployed in Iraq to make sure she had the perfect place. Somewhere close to everything but far enough away that we could be "alone". I saw this place and thought "WOW". When we showed up it was very late and we didn't really get to "See" the place until the next morning. When we finally got to look around the house, you could tell the house was lived in with small imperfections, dated kitchen and bath. This place was exactly what we were looking for. This was not a vacation rental, this was a vacation home and that is what it felt like, a home. My wife and I are both very active people. When in a new area we like to go and do all there is to do. We hardly left the house because it was so relaxing and peaceful. We took the Kayaks out a few times and cast a few lines off of the dock. Other than that we sat on the HUGE screened in front porch and enjoyed the ocean breeze. We enjoyed the place and the area so much, we considered relocating because we just did not want to leave. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had all the information for the area and we were finding everything okay. Given the opportunity I would come back as often as I could afford.

  Each year we go to the Keys and this year is no exception, we will be back in August. We found this place and the owner, David Thomas on the internet. We have been renting from him for approximately five years now. This place is like our home away from home and David goes out of his way to accomodate us and is more than professional in his business practices. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the area, house and the owner. If you dive, fish or just like the water and the Keys then this is the place for you.
