Dania Beach house description
Originally constructed after the devasting GREAT MIAMI HURRICANE ( 1926,) this dwelling has outlasted the times up until the present day ( 2013.) Located directly on the “ newly constructed DIXIE HIGHWAY (1915) ” this location was one of the 1st “rest spots” after the DIXIE HGWY turned West.
In addition to being a private home for it’s first 30 years in existence, this location has been an office to the “ THUNDERBIRD MOTEL ” and also the “BEAVER APARTMENTS ” in 1950-1970’s, ( now the AMERICAN MARITIME OFFICERS TRAINING FACILITY ~ AMO across the street. )
The American Maritime Officers' purchased this home and the surrounding area to better facilitate marine education and living. ( est. 1982.) The home sat as a workshop under the AMO and then vacant for many years. However in 2013, The American Maritime sold off this home and others to make way for their future development ~
This home is now available to you again as a fully furnished rental called 'The Historic Maritime Manor,' located within the heart of Dania Beach, across the street from the American Maritime Officer's campus.
Close to the Beach, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, GulfStream Park, and a short distance to all of the beautiful S. Florida locations ( South Beach, Coconut Grove etc )

Escape to Paradise.
I recently stayed at the historic Maritime Manor for 2 nights and I have to say it was one of the best mini escapes ever! Kevin the owner is such a gentleman, greeting me with the warmest smile and making me feel like I was a longtime friend coming for a visit in his home. Upon receiving the keys and stepping inside, I felt like I had been transported to a little slice of heaven. Even though I was still in the “suburbs” the beautiful nautical décor of the house made me feel like I was in a cottage or villa in Key West. The place was so spacious and clean, the colors were soothing, and the bed was so comfortable. I loved the little accents of the original architectural history that were still left in the house for me to see up close. The warmness of the kitchen made me feel like I was home and like I wanted to cook and have my friends over for an intimate dinner party. The main bathroom with its claw tub made me feel like I was a sexy movie star. The house came with everything you could possibly need even down to the simple little wonderful touches of bubble bath and a variety of novels being provided for you. The area was very quiet. I loved the convenience of being 1 mile from the beach and having the supermarket, a mall, several restaurants and gas stations all within a 2-5 minute drive. I would definitely go back and stay here again, I highly recommend Maritime Manor as your home away from home! Thanks Kevin for providing this magical place for me to escape to.
