Except from the magazine Brigitte (18/99) 'Marais is always hip. Every day is fast-paced in the narrow streets of Paris, with its beautiful city palaces, museums, shops, boutiques, cafés and restaurants.' Süddeutsche Zeitung (newspaper) 'Marais is the only Paris quarter, besides Ile Saint Louis, that has maintained its original character. Today, it is considered one of the most expensive quarters in Paris and it has be chic to live here since the 60s. Part of the charm of this quarter are places like the famous Place des Vosges and institutions like the Picasso Museum.' You are only 2 minutes from the St. Paul en Marais metro station. By metro you are 5 min. from the Louvre, 10 min. from the Champs Elysées. Notre Dame is 15 min. by foot. You can find something to eat near the metro station (supermarkets, bakeries, delicatessens etc.). Most are open until 8:30 pm on Saturdays and in the mornings on Sundays.
