We have named our property "Peaceful Abode" due to the nature of the property. During the summer months you can enjoy relaxing in the backyard without the distractions of city life. Enjoy the hummingbirds that frequent the property, in addition to many birds, butterflies, fox, deer, and if you are very lucky you may even see a bear.
The property is located on two plus acres and is easily accessible year round. It has an abundance of pine trees and wildflowers. It also borders Pike National Forest, which is accessible through the backyard and provides hundreds of acres of wildflowers, hiking trails, etc. It is located just over a mile from Manitou Lake - a fabulous picnic, fishing, and hiking area which has an awesome view of Pike's Peak. An eight mile paved biking trail which leads to Woodland Park is within a mile of the property.
There is so much to see and do in the area. The property is conveniently located just twelve minutes from Woodland Park or forty-five minutes from Colorado Springs. Some of the activities include: fishing, biking, sightseeing, wonderful eating establishments in Woodland Park and Colorado Springs, Air Force Academy,
USA Olympic Center, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, historic Colorado City, and many more wonderful activities to fill your day all within an hour's drive.
Cripple Creek is home to gambling and sight seeing which is only forty-five minutes away. The property is only twenty minutes from Deckers, which is home to gold-medal fishing. There is also cross-country and downhill skiing within an hour and a half drive.
The house is very open and spacious. It has vaulted ceilings, fresh paint, and newer carpet. It has newer comfortable beds including a king-size in the master bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom, and two twin beds in the third. There is also a full-size pull-out sofabed. Last but not least, there is a hot tub for you to enjoy starry nights during the summer months and snow softly landing on your face during the winter.
We ask that you do not smoke on the property. You can bring your dog as long as you utilize the dog-run. Cats are not allowed. We know that you will gain some wonderful memories during your stay in our "peaceful abode" while visiting our beautiful state.

Our vacation home rental was a wonderful first experience. The property was even better than described. The pictures do not do the home justice. We felt so comfortable and at home during our stay. I hope our experiences in the future will be this nice. I do know that because of staying at this home we will have very high expectations of our next vacation rental. Again, wonderful experience!!!

We had a WONDERFUL time at the cabin! It was secluded, well-stocked, in wonderful condition. The cabin is roomy and warming. The hot tub was GREAT! We had a great time as a family. The dogs were welcome and also had a great time. The property was beautifully groomed. We have already booked a 2nd weekend and are considering this cabin for our family get away next Summer! We DEFINITELY recommend this rental! Very price friendly as well.

Wonderful house!!! It was everything we expected and more. The kids (15,15,17,5) loved the hot tub and the air hockey table. It was nice to be in a house on vacation instead of crammed into a hotel room. We would rent again if ever back in the area. Super clean and stocked with basic items that you will need.

We had such a wonderful time at Peaceful Abode! Bonnie and Mike thought of absolutely EVERYTHING we could possibly want during our stay. The beds were comfy, the decor - charming and very home-y. We even found more staple foods in the cupboards than we really needed. We only had to shop for fresh and perishable groceries. Everything was well stocked and the place was immaculately clean. I don't think we've ever had such a superb experience anywhere in the nation! And all the sights were within a hour of the cabin... All so close and so accessible! We will definitely be planning a return vacation! I think the only thing that could have made it any better would have been a fire pit to roast marshmallows...Though we did manage over the grill! Thanks so much Bonnie and Mike for an unforgettable experience! Your cabin will be the standard by which we judge all future "HomeAway" experiences! Christi and Herberth Amy and Kaori

We had a great time at the "peacful abode"! It was very nice, clean and well equipped with anything you may need. We looked forward to coming back and relaxing here after our full days of sight seeing. It was about a 30-45 minute drive to the Colorado Springs attractions (Pike's Peak, Garden of the God's, Seven Falls etc.)T he kids really enjoyed the hot tub, the foosball table and the air hockey table. If we are heading to this area again, we will definately look into staying at the "peacful abode" again.

We love to escape to the mountains, and this home was that! We wanted to be close and it to be affordable. But we never expected such a awesome house! The kitchen was very well stocked and there was so much room! Thanks for a great time, and I know we'll be back and telling others about it!

'Peaceful Abode' was a great place to stay! We loved it! It was clean and comfortable. Very homey and welcoming. There were big comfortable beds in 2 of the bedrooms and twin beds in the other. Lots of linens and nice quilts. The kitchen was wonderful. I don't believe there was anything that we needed that wasn't already there. There is so much space inside this house. I agree with the previous people that the pictures don't do it justice. The house is located in a nice quiet area on the edge of Woodland Park. It backs up to the Pike National Forest. It is very beautiful! It's just a short distance from Pike's Peak, Garden of the God's, Santa's Workshop and many other tourist attractions. I think the location was perfect! We plan to return next year. I can't wait!!!

When we arrived at this location we were all very surprised and pleased with the home. The pictures do not do it justice. There were seven of us and we were very comfortable staying here. We had everything we needed including information about places we wanted to visit. It was a short drive from everything we wanted to see. We loved our stay. The only bad part is that we wished we could have stayed longer. We had now encounter with bears!! We will be back for longer next time.

We really enjoyed our vacation in Woodland Park / Colorado Springs. It was nice to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life. This home is located down a 3/4 mile dirt road about 10 minutes away from “downtown” Woodland Park. The downtown area has everything you need to shop for food and miscellaneous items. We (my family) made breakfast every morning & several dinners. This made the trip cost effective as well. The kitchen has all of the tools needed for cooking. The wood burning stove was great & the home owners supplied plenty of wood in the back yard (Some of it we had to chop ourselves). Bottom line, this is a nice / clean rustic home. Considering the price it is well worth it!
