London, England Apartments in Kensington:
The greatest pleasure in renting a beautiful apartment for your vacation in London is to come home after a busy day to a warm welcome of beautiful surroundings, sunny rooms, quality furniture, comfortable bed, and bathroom - a nest to call home in London. Our Lancaster apartment offers all of this for up to two people. This spacious apartment is located on one of the prettiest and most secluded streets in the heart of prestigious Kensington, Central London.
The apartment is located off Kensington Church Street, or Antique Row, in the center of Kensington. The street is frequently photographed in the spring when all of the cherry trees that line the street are in bloom, gorgeous bursts of pink flowers.
You are surrounded by dozens of cafés, restaurants and the chic shops of both Kensington and trendy Nottinghill Gate - so you can walk to many destinations, eat out nearby or shop for food and cook at home. Kensington is the home of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, where you can walk, picnic, bicycle, enjoy the new Princess Diana Playground, or visit the Royal Costume Collection in her former home of Kensington Palace. Nottinghill Gate is the new trendy neighborhood, famous for Portobello Market on Saturday mornings.
This London apartment is on the first floor (second floor American) of a pretty white stucco Victorian building. There is no elevator, but it is a short walk up the steps from the lobby. Enter the apartment to the best floor of any Victorian building, the one with the highest ceilings and balcony.
On your left, find the master bedroom, decorating in creams and pale lavender. The room has a large window facing the back garden, which means it is extremely quiet. The queen-size bed is high quality and brand new. On the right, there is plenty of cupboard space for storage.
En-suite is the full bathroom, tiled in pale blue tiles from Spain. The bathroom has a relaxing tub with shower, toilet and sink; it is newly remodeled and quite pretty.
Return to the main corridor and enter the piece de resistance, the living room. This is a stunning room, as two enormous Victorian windows open wide allowing you to step onto the white stucco balcony on summer days, enjoying the quiet, cherry tree-lined street. Facing east, the apartment has plenty of sun in the morning. The pale red sofa is the best of English upholstery as pure feather filled cushions mean you sink in and relax when you are home. An armchair and upholstered bench create a relaxing living room when you are home.
The large screen Sony TV, VCR, and stereo mean you can watch TV or simply enjoy tea and classical music from the wide selection of music CDs in the apartment. The paintings which fill the apartment are beautiful and well framed by the pale living room walls.
The large cupboards in the entryway and woodwork in the living room are painted a pale teal to match the kitchen cupboards, creating a soothing and harmonious feel for guests. There are plenty of books, meaning you can curl up and relax in comfort on slower days.
There is a small desk next to the sofa, with fax machine and a sliding shelf so you can work at your computer while you are there. There is computer access via a dial up phone line. The maple dining table has a rich finish and matches the parquet floors of the kitchen. The table sits between the two windows and expands to seat up to six, so you can invite friends over for dinner.
The spacious kitchen is next, painted in tones of pale teal with long worktops, loads of cupboard space, and every accessory and appliances needed for cooking a gourmet meal: toaster, coffee pot, teamaker, dishwasher, under-the counter refrigerator/freezer, and beautiful pottery to serve from.
We think this is one of the prettiest apartments you could rent in London and you will have a delightful stay here! |
