My latest adventure began with a scenic drive over Berthoud Pass where I and my travel-mates enjoyed beautiful views of pine-treed mountain peaks into the Fraser Valley town of Winter Park.
As it was snowing upon our arrival, we were thankful for the convenience of the garage. Entering the duplex, we were quite impressed by the spacious four bedroom floor plan. The large closets in the foyer surved well for all our winter gear. The two master suites on the main floor, both equipped with TV and DVD players, provided privacy away from the two living areas on the upper and lower floors. The two living areas were ideal for our clan of all ages. While the adults enjoyed the main living area, playing board games and munching on snacks at the large table while watching the Olympics on the large flat screen TV, the teen cubs found the lower level living room a perfect retreat where they could play foosball and video games.
The spacious kitchen was on the main level. The cook was “beary” happy preparing most of our meals at home as the kitchen provided all the necessities. Additional sleeping arrangements were convenient on the lower level, with an adjacent bedroom having two bunk beds and a den with an additional twin bed. Don’t forget to take in the view off the patio in the private hot tub!
Winter Park offered excellent downhill skiing and snowboarding in addition to cross country skiing, snowshoeing and a terrific tubing hill only a few minutes away. There was a shuttle bus to take us wherever we needed to go. We enjoyed access to the neighborhood recreation center, which featured an outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness facility- all within walking distance of the duplex. I can’t wait to come back in the summertime for hiking, biking and wildlife sightings. You'll find this Fraser Valley mountain home is the perfect retreat to rejuvenate!

We have stayed here three times in the past year (just returned from Labor Day 2011) and this place is awesome. Plenty of room on the lower level for the kids and spacious bedrooms. The two master bedrooms on the main level are roomy and comfortable. The upper level has plenty of room to relax and has dining area for 8-10 persons. Can't forget the hot tub as it is large enough for 6 adults and conveniently located on the lower deck. Most important of all is how awesome the owners are. They make every effort to ensure you enjoy your vacation. Will definately be back again.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.
