Big-Sky-Austria is a very special place with an atmosphere for people who want to relaxing in the middle of green nature, who want to do that in luxury and style. There are 4 residences: Starcastle (2 dbr), Spruces Child (3 dbr), Golden Deer (4dbr) and Rubys Retreat (4dbr) each one equipped with a huge designer kitchen holding everything from pizza slicer to micro wave oven. Dining and living are one spacious panoramic room with terraces facing the Swiss mountains and the valley down below. Indoorpool, Sauna & Gym can be booked exclusively at certain times. Our residences are ideal for families - animals are welcome - and our place is perfect for groups who want a luxurious hideout from where they can discover the heart of Europe. If you like what you see here, please contact us, even if the calendar indicates otherwise. We're flexibel and you’ll always get an individual offer according to your needs.

How to get here: There are three main airports within 125 miles: Munich, Stuttgart, Zurich. If you fly into Frankfurt, you can fly on (45 minutes) to the small airport of Friedrichshafen, which is not even a one hours drive from here. If you fly into Vienna, you can take a plane to Altenrhein (1 hour) and you'll be half an hour from here. From all these airports we'll pick you up. If you have your own car, you'll receive a detailled description upon booking.

Full service offer: We are not a hotel, but we can act like one. The apartment is mainly intended for individuals who want to have their own luxurious place with full privacy. In addition to the apartment we can offer: Breakfast service: you'll just order the night before and it'll be served in the morning; Lunch & Diner: We work together with the two best dining places in this country, which are about three miles away from our place. If you wish, we can organize your transportation there and back. Cars and transportation: We'll organize rental cars with or without drivers for you. As a special gimmick for touring the Alps the owner offers his 911 4WD Porsche sportscar. Further travelling: We can organize individual trips to almost any place in Europe, offering the same quality and style that you enjoy at our place. Just let us know, either by E-Mail beforehand or once you're here.

For horse lovers, we can offer riding on our own horses in the most beautiful riding place & stable in this country. With your booking 1 hour of western riding with an experienced coach, for you or your children is free.

Opened in May 2009, this very spacious and dedicated residence (2200 sqft) gives you a very special feeling. One level, the entire lower floor of the house, it opens up to a large green garden with a breathtaking view of the Swiss mountains and thousands of lights down in the valley at night. It is very modern, straight lined, a cosy form of purism, heaven and earth meet here and you can feel them in all the construction elements. Six guests have more than enough space to feel real good. 60 feet of glass sliding doors give a great view and make the residence naturally bright. Inside you find a perfect combination of slate, rock from the old walls, wood and leather. Lean back in your private jacuzzy and enjoy the comforts of the light therapy and the massage jets still having this great panorama in front of you. we stayed at Spruces Child, there was 5 of us, two couples. we all had our own bedrooms with bathrooms, the living room/kitchen was amazing and so was the view, which changed constantly, because you are about 400m high above the valley below. you need a car but the location is great to go and visit many places in austria, switzerland, germany and liechtenstein. the owners are very nice and helpful, and make your stay great. we highly recommend going and staying here.

Liebes Team vom "Himmel über Dafins", nach einer wundervollen und erholsamen Woche im "Himmel über Dafins" möchte ich mich sehr herzlich bedanken für alle Annehmlichkeiten und Aufmerksamkeiten, die wir zum Jahreswechsel genießen durften und die wieder einmal alle Erwartungen übertroffen haben. Neu im Programm der Verwöhnkunst ist besonders die Wellnessmassage ganz besonders zu loben. Nach einer Woche Skifahren war nicht nur mein Rücken ziemlich verkrampft. So kam ich in den Genuss einer außerordentlich entspannenden und erhebenden Erfahrung in Form einer Ganzkörpermassage. Die angenehme Atmosphäre wurde schon vor dem Betreten des Hauses durch einladendes Kerzenlicht geweckt. Der Ruheraum der Sauna war sehr angenhm temperiert und mit Kerzen dekoriert. Auf der professionellen Massageliege bestens gebettet, mit sanfter Musik eingelullt konnte ich dann länger als eine Stunde lang fürwahr himmlische Genüsse in Form einer Aromaölmassage genießen. Man spürt, wie positive Energie sich durch sanfte Berührung in Entspannung und Wohlfühlen verwandelt. Danke für diese schöne Erfahrung! Jede Minute ein Genuss! Als vielleicht allerbesonderste Neuerung möchte ich die Möglichkeit zum Reiten in einem 5 Sterne Westernreitstall auf "Tender San", dem Pferd mit einem Herzen aus Gold als ein großes Vergnügen und eine besondere Erfahrung erwähnen. Wer hier nicht zu einem Liebhaber der Reiterei wird.... Unter fachkundiger Anleitung der engagierten Reitlehrerin kann auf solch einem geduldigen und feinfühligen Pferd jeder Reiter einen Einstieg in die Westernreitkunst bekommen. Dieses Pferd fühlt sich in den Reiter hinein und zeigt besonders bei Kindern seine sanfte Seele. Dabei ist er eifrig, willig und durchaus auch temperamentvoll, gut ausgebildet und nervenstark. Er fehlt mir jetzt schon, ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen in 2013! Mit ganz herzlichen Grüßen an das gesamte Team und auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen! Andrea und Familie Von meinem iPad gesendet

About the owner: We are Heike and Guenther and live with our children, Sophia and Simon at the most beautiful place in the world: Dafins. High above the Rhine Valley we run a communication and journalism office. Our passion is our vacation paradise Big Sky Austria for guests from around the world who share the same high expectations about relaxing holidays in a luxurious environment. In the coming years we will build three additional luxury residences to meet the increasing demand from around the world. So we offer the opportunity to participate in this attractive concept. Why the Owner Chose Zwischenwasser:
The origins of the main house dates back to the 50s of the last century. Gradually the former landlady built-up the farmhouse to the inn 'Happy panoramic view' with 25 small guest-rooms. 1985 Günther acquired the old house and operated initially a jazz and blues cafe. In 2002 together we started new plans for the traditional building. After a new terrace-building was not wanted by the community, we started in 2005 to expand the first apartment. With much love and patience the following two years we rebuilt out of the old barn todays' 'Star Castle'. Two years later, the ground floor was rebuilt with all the luxury into 'Spruces child'. The owner of this feudal apartments were among the first guests and fell spontaneously in love with this beautiful place. Quickly it became clear that for a dream holiday we needed a swimming pool and sauna and for larger groups of guests we needed more space. So we built another building next door. Here are now the spa and fitness area and the two very spacious residences 'Rubys Retreat' and 'Golden Deer'. And today all four residences inspire people. First it is the luxury and the fact that everything is here, from pizza slicer to W-LAN Then the suitability for children and pets. And in addition to that the convenient location right in the heart of Europe. Within only 3 hours you can travel to Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, France and Italy. Lake Constance is close and the mountains around the house are ideal for hiking, skiing, sledding and mountain biking. There is everything here except Hullygully. Mostt fascinating is the spectacular panoramic view of the Rhine Valley and Swiss mountains.

The Unique Benefits at this Hotel:
Each residence in 'Big Sky Austria' tells a different story. We have carefully ensured that every residence has its own concept and that all the rooms are created differently. Even each piece of furniture has his own story and all details have been carefully matched. In Rosenresli (in Golden Deer), for example, hangs the wedding painting of Heike's grandmother. In the Old Rock room (Spruces child) the old stone wall has been worked out so that the old house is still tangible. In Star Castle the entire living room was designed so that the jacuzzi could be integrated and Heikes dream kitchen could be fit in. There are countless stories to tell. All residences are fully equipped, not only for cooking but even for decorating your tables. If you need a specific cooking equipment, just ask us. If it is not there already, we will provide it till you arrive.
