Ernies on the Creek is a gorgeous setting in roof high mountain laurels. - Blue Ridge Cabin Rental Ernies on the Creek is an adorably decorated log cabin which sits just 10 feet from Big Fightingtown Creek. You can fish for trout from the dock or just enjoy the beauty of this clear mountain river which is 60 feet wide. The cozy cabin has two bedrooms and one bathroom and is decorated in mountain style. It sleeps 6 in the two bedrooms (one bedroom is an adorable bunk room which kids love) and there is a futon that folds out in the living area that would sleep 2 more. The stone wood-burning fireplace is nice (firewood is provided) and the cabin has central heat as well as ceiling fans to keep you comfortable regardless of the season. The small but fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals but there are great restaurants in both nearby McCaysville and Blue Ridge if you prefer not to cook. There is a small dining table inside as well as a table for 4 on the outside porch overlooking the river. The porch also features a 5-person hot tub and rocking chairs. There is so much to do at Ernies. You can put your innertube in at Ernies and take the 1 and 1/5 hour float down the river into nearby Mccaysville. The river has some mild rapids, which make it fun but enjoyable by families of all ages (life vests are always recommended). If you are looking for something more challenging, true whitewater rafting is available on the Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Olympics just 20 minutes away. Need more relaxing - just try the hammock. Although there are other cabins on the road, Ernies is surrounded by mountain laurel as high as the tin roof and has a secluded feel (many honeymooners stay here). The road is very well kept and you will not need a four wheel drive vehicle, any car will do. The road is gated for additional privacy and security. Ernies is the perfect riverfront mountain getway. Many of our guests are repeat visitors who come back to stay each year. We also welcome dogs as part of your family.
