This is the BEST deal in La Jolla because it was fully renovated with new porcelain tile, new appliances, completely new bathrooms, all new lighting, new cabinets, new windows, all granite countertops, 2 new flat screen TV's & DVD player, and all new furniture. Try to find this in any other La Jolla property with a great ocean view. This is the only such place in La Jolla. Tandem parking for 2 cars is also included.
This is approximately a 1000 square foot place which is much larger than many of the dinky 700 foot cracker box places being offered out there. Notice that most places don't even tell you their size because they don't want you to know how small they are. Ask them about that before you rent from them.
Being only 300 yards to the water, there is an excellent panoramic view of the ocean from the living room, balcony, master bedroom, and kitchen. Unlike many other place's photos on this site, our water photos were taken looking straight out from the balcony, unless specified as taken elsewhere. The ocean views are just as you see them in the photos.
The property is located 300 yards to the ocean in La Jolla on the top floor of one of the newer condo buildings in town, at the corner of La Jolla Blvd. and Bird Rock Av. It is surrounded by good restaurants, coffee houses (Starbuck's, Bird Rock Coffee the 'Best Micro Roaster', etc.) and businesses (a nail salon and wine shop just below). This is not a sleepy neighborhood, but great places just steps away. There is some action at night, it doesn't get too noisy, but it is active. If you are a light sleeper, one bedroom does not face the street, the other does but guests have said that turning on the fan takes care of it.
At the foot of the street is arguably the best tide pool in Southern California. A block north starts Camino de la Costa which is known as the Street of Dreams, winding through the most expensive mile of homes in the city. Also a block north is the beginning of the 'Bike Route' which is a paved walking and biking trail that leads through natural surroundings to downtown La Jolla. To the south 1.5 miles is Garnet Ave. which is the center of maybe the most popular beach nightlife area in all of San Diego.
