This 18th C Georgian building has two apartments, cosy and homely. Central heating, electric showers. Both flats have 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds, top quality linen, mattress toppers and duvets. lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Outdoor garden with patio. Situated in a quiet lane but walking distance to shops, restaurants, hotels, banks, etc. 5 mins walk from Loch Fyne and 15 mins to Inveraray Castle and local walks.                   Inveraray is a small village where visitors can meet the local people and enjoy being based in the centre of the beautiful scenic region of Argyll. This is a unique planned conservation 18th C Georgian town. Historically this is the land of The Campbell clan and The Duke of Argyll and his family live in the local 18th C Castle, open to the public from April - end of October and recently used as a location in the Downtown Abbey series. Of interest also is the historic Inveraray Jail - now a museum. Visitors staying in Argyll as a base can travel to many places of scenic beauty in The West Highlands - Oban (a port on the west coast for visiting The Islands of Mull & Iona), Dunoon on The Clyde Coast, Lochgilphead and Kilmartin for archaeology and standing stones; The scenic Mull of Kintyre on the Atlantic Coast and Machrihanish for wonderful champion golf courses. Locally there is a small 9 hole golf course and a very good riding stable and outdoor activities. There are cruises on nearby Loch Lomond and fishing on Loch Awe. Wonderful scenic drives all over the area, including Glen Coe area. Cruises from the coast to spot dolphins, seals, whales and sea eagles. There are many seafood and traditional restaurants in the area

                  About the owner: I am originally from Glasgow, have lived and worked in London, Mallorca, Madrid and other parts of Spain as a travel rep and tour guide. I have currently lived in Inveraray since 1977 and have worked as a professional Scottish Tourist Guide and Driver Guide for 18 years all over Scotland, working with people of all nationalities. I have a daughter and 2 lovely grandsons. I love to travel in Europe and further afield and another of my main interests is music and Scottish traditional music in particular. I play the fiddle and attend many gatherings and events.

                  Why the Owner Chose Inveraray:
                  I came up to Inveraray by chance, fell in love with the area and later discovered when studying genealogy that my great great grandfather whose sirname was Sinclair was born here! That certainly gave me a strange feeling as if I had been drawn to the town.

                  The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
                  I love this property because of its history and age. The town of Inveraray is quite unique as it is a planned town in a conservation area and the whole town once belonged to The Duke of Argyll (Clan Campbell). There is lots of history in the area and I do love living in old houses. It has been hard work but worthwhile keeping this 18th C building in good condition and sharing it with guests. Most guests think it is full of character and homely.
