Privately tucked away behind a high wall, just a stones throw from the centre of the town and completely cut off from the world. One can enjoy French rural town life at it’s best. The town square is 100 yards away where one can stroll and enjoy a coffee or a glass of excellent French Wine in a traditional Cafe. There are many wonderful Restaurants where one can sample the delights of French cooking. Surrounded by the rustic charm of the sprawling French Countryside beautifully complimented by its close proximity to the sea with its stunning beaches. The property itself is breathtaking. On arrival one is taken on an intriguing journey through narrow town streets to be greeted by the imposing gates through which awaits a beautiful courtyard where one can truly appreciate the magnificent sight of the Main House. Instantly you feel as if you have stepped into a different time and place in the quiet of rural France. I look forward very much to my return visit.Owner response: What a beautiful description. We are thrilled that strangers have found both the house and the location to be as stunning as we do! Many thanks.

We chose Le Manoir and Le Vigneron in Capestang for a family re-union. There were 19 of us from 3 generations, ages 11 to 80. The facilities were excellent for our group. We had ample sleeping accomodations and with the cooperation of good weather we were all able to eat together in the spacious courtyard. The beautiful swimming pool was popular with all ages and got lots of use. The attractions in the surrounding area were enjoyed every day by various members of our group. But the most endearing feature of our week's stay was the village of Capestang itsself. The main square which is a short stroll from our gate was always active and a fun place to visit - - whether for the morning pastry shopping trip, the market-days, the restaurants, or just hanging out. On a previous re-union 3 years ago, we stayed at a villa which was more oppulent, but it was located in the countryside - - miles from the nearest village. We all agreed that being at the center of Capestang was the best.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

Our group of 15(ages 15-73) stayed at both houses the last week of July. Everyone had a terrific time in this fabulous property and wonderful town. The houses on arrival were very clean and everything prepared. The kitchen is well stocked for even the most serious cooks. The private front courtyard is great for playing, eating, drinking especially in the afternoon when it is shaded. The pool area is gorgeous with the view of the Cathedral and its wall are covered with blooming flowers and shrubs. The picture on the web site doesn't do it justice. We ate most dinners out there in the evenings and it is magical. The character of the big house is part of the special experience of staying there. It is large, very spacious with great bathrooms but makes you feel you are living in a different era. As an american We truly felt French for the week. The location of the property is perfect. It is 100 yards from the town square where there is a great pizzeria, other restaurants, bars, bank, pharmacy and bakeries. In the morning for a cafe and croissant it is perfect and then at night for a drink. The town's location is great for many day trips to the beach, vineyards, Carcassone, Montpelier and even Nimes or Avignon, This property is a gem and and not just a destination but an experience. The owner is very professional and helpful. We hope to return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We (my 2 sisters, their families and I .. 5 Adults and 6 children age 5 to 21) spent 2 magical weeks at start July 09 in Le Manoir. Property is easy to find! .. despite being tucked away behind high walls ... wonderful to walk in the big gates and see the beautiful house. Rooms are very spacious (and cool !!) .. great when you are a large number. Pool area is just PERFECT... Table Tennis area just off pool area (great for kids, teenagers and adults alike! and we (almost!) all tried for most improved star at the end of the 2 weeks, fridge near pool area (great the the cold water, beer and off course vin blanc!(how thoughtful of the owners!!!) and last BUT not least .. the warm wonderful shower near pool area (great for the early morning if a swim is too much!!!). There is a wonderful shaded table (seats 12) at the pool area as well. Kitchen is very well equipped which is a bonus when trying out all the loacl produce from the lovely markets. Everything is within easy access .. village square a few steps away .. many choices boulangeries to have fresh treats every morning! great local fruit and veg in many local suppliers a short drive away ... and great local wines (Gimine to mention just one!!!) within WALKING distance !!, not to forget the jogging (or walking) along the Canal de Midi .. which is a real treasure just 5 mins walk away. Valras beach (20 mins away) was a disappointmet (to me!!) as it is windy (am told generally is) .. that is personal as i prefer the Atlantic waves !!!! We had some lovely meals nearby. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends (and have done!) ... oh almost forgot , the Church bells are magical ... don't worry if on the first day u say oh my God how will I sleep with this ... By day 3 you do not notice them ... they just become the reassuring noise in the background as in many French villages. Overall a real treat and am sure I will return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We spent two beautiful weeks in this lovely house. Here we found enough space for our group of 10 adults and 9 children (aged 3 to 10 years). Most of the rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equiped, all bath facilities worked very well and the sitting places around the house (in the courtyard and at the pool area) are really lovely! Capestang, a wonderful authentic small french village, is absolutely lovely! We enjoyed walking outside the house, crossing the market place, having an ice cream just around the corner and walking to the wonderful canal du midi for cycling or running. Also the bakeries, restaurants, shops and supermarkets are within short distance: you feel at home after a short time! We give just 4 points, because we had to deal with two problems during our stay: we couldn`t use the pool for our first 5 days because something broke down before our arrival and there also were some ongoing renovation works at another small house on our ground, so we had to live with the problem of noise (some days) and workers crossing our private area sometimes. The owner apologized for these unfortunate circumstances.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: This review is very fair, given the very unfortunate problems the guests encountered. Both the pool and the unfinished building works were not anticipated as the pool only broke down on the date of their arrival, and we had been assured that the building renovations would have been long finished. This did not happen and I totally accept that both caused unnecessary and unpleasant problems for the guests which we hugely regret. Both situations have now thankfully been completely resolved.

Just a quick note to say that we had a great time in Capestang. The house was fantastic, well equipped and very clean. The village and surrounding area are beautiful. The market was also a great experience. We made good use of the pool and we took days out to Narbonne, Beziers and Valras Plage. Didier at the sports bar looked after us very well and we had some nice meals in the Pizzeria also. All in all the trip was a big success. Highly reccomended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.
Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. We would welcome you or your friends back anytime. Best wishes
