At the end of a quiet, private road, and nestled among majestic pine, beech, oak, and maple trees, this gorgeous, new cottage is the lakefront retreat you have been looking for!
Downstairs you will find an inviting, tastefully furnished, living room with a beautiful stone-faced, gas log fireplace. An expansive picture window overlooks Bass Lake including a beautiful, sandy beach. The dining area boasts an artfully designed table that can seat up to ten comfortably, as well as a snack bar complete with stools for more casual dining.
The kitchen is fully-appointed with appliances, utensils, and equipment for casual to elegant entertaining. A utility room with stacked washer/dryer and a large pantry are just off the kitchen. Additionally, downstairs you will find the beautiful master bedroom complete with king-size bed, dressing room, and bath with tub/shower. A large picture window overlooks the lake.
Upstairs, you will first enter the den/TV room.... a perfect hide-away for the kids (or adults seeking solitude). The den is furnished with a comfortable small couch that also pulls out to a twin bed, a double ottoman, as well as floor pillows for comfy movie-watching. Two large bedrooms and a beautiful bath with tub/shower finish the second floor. Both bedrooms have picturesque views of the lake and the woods. One is furnished with a queen bed as well as a daybed/trundle (both twin beds). The other upstairs bedroom also boasts a queen-size bed and a twin bed. Additionally, there are two twin-size, fold-out mattresses that can be used in the bedrooms or the den.
Finally, the cottage has two gorgeous porches... the one across the entire front of the home overlooks the lake, private sunning patio and beach as well as the boat dock and playground. The rear porch overlooks beautiful Michigan woods.
Maple Woods Cottage is a private, family retreat on Bass Lake, a 100 acre all-sports lake. Much of the lake's shoreline is dedicated to a state park, which makes it a sanctuary for wildlife including loons, herons, white-tailed deer, raccoons, beavers, and a variety of game fish such as bass, walleye, pike, perch and bluegill. The lake is a ideal for swimming, boating, fishing, skiing, and tubing. We provide a fishing boat with motor, 4 kayaks, a water trampoline and a pedalboat for casual summer fun. In the winter, the Bass Lake area is known for ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
We are just minutes from the Interlochen Arts Center, Traverse City and Grand Traverse Bay, Crystal Mountain Ski & Golf Resort, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, Leeland Shanty Town, numerous wineries, concert halls, Leelanau Sands Casino, award-winning golf courses, Little Betsie River and Lake Michigan.

Why the Owner Chose Interlochen
We built our home in Interlochen, Michigan, to be close to the Interlochen Center for the Arts where Rick spent 7 summers on staff. We have come to love not only Interlochen, but all that Northwestern Michigan has to offer, especially on our beautiful lake!
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Two of my favorites are enjoying coffee on the front porch while listening to the loons AND floating on a raft on our beautiful lake!
