Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
I love grilling up a mess of shrimp and mullet at sunset! Especially after a day of kayaking or horseback riding on the beach. I never seem to have enough shrimp, though, no matter how much I overestimate. Marinate them in Jamaican Jerk sauce and there won't be a single one left, I promise!
Why the Owner Chose Cape San Blas
We chose Cape San Blas for our vacation home because it reminded us so much of how "old Florida" used to look 50 years ago all up and down the panhandle. I grew up in Pensacola and have enjoyed the Gulf Coast all my life, and this is one of the few areas that hasn't been completely overrun by condos. It still has that certain feel of peaceful family togetherness that you can really only get when you're away from it all.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Some of the benefits of staying at Mimi's Sandcastle include:
* Gorgeous, wide open beaches without the crowds. No condos = fewer people.
* 10 minute drive to a REAL oyster bar (The Indian Pass Raw Bar), where you can take your catch and grill it on the outdoor pit while enjoying your favorite beverage and getting to know the locals. Or, go inside and order up a dozen raw, steamed, baked, however you like 'em!
* We're directly on the beach, with boardwalk access from the top deck, which provides easy access to the beach for everyone, including small children and those who use a wheelchair.
