Cannes - Le Cannet Old Town - Wonderful 3 Bed Village House - Garden
- Minimum stay:4-11 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This is indeed a true hidden gem in the heart of beautiful Cannes within the lovely village of Le Cannet. This 17th Centuary village house has been refurbished in the last number of years and whilst still retaining a charming provencal feel - the property has 3 well designed modern bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The villa is presented over 3 levels with sea views from the 2 upper level bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom is at garden level. All bedrooms can be made up either with king or 2 single beds. The drawing room has a large italian sofa bed with lovely views over the garden. The dining with large dining table has convenient direct access kitchen. The outdoor area is really lovely with suspended garden and terrace area. The house has all up to date amenities to include air conditioning, wifi, satalite tv, plasma tv and HD recorder. There are plenty of local shops close to this villa as well as a convenient taxi service directly to the Croisette. Quiet neighbourhood!
The Ultimate Cannes Experience - charming 17th century Provençal house which has been in the owner's family for over 3 centuries and has been added to in the course of centuries. It is named Le Cros (the Hollow) and gave its name to the neighbourhood. Located at the top of Cannes's well-known Boulevard Carnot which directly connects the Palais des Festivals to Le Cannet. The rue du Cros is off the rue Victorien Sardou in which Le Cannet's cinema is located.
The centre of Cannes can be reached by direct bus N°1 in less than twenty minutes for just over 1€.
There is also a taxi rank at the nearby town hall - travel to the Croisette in less than 10 minutes.
It is very easy to park close to this villa either in the street or in the free communal car-park.
The villa has a sea-view from the upper level bedrooms and is definitely a much better and cheaper experience than staying at a hotel.
You can buy anything you need from the local small shops on Boulevard Carnot. Pharmacy, Post-office and Library as well as the excellent Baker and Butcher are just 1 minute away. How about taking home some delicious gourmet food from these local shops and relax in the garden if you do not feel like going out to expensive restaurants. Try the delicious local produce - the breads, cheese and a bottle of wine is often a much better way of enjoying French cuisine and Provençal delicacies than dining out. Needless to say that the villa and its quaint garden offer you much more space than a hotel room. What is more you can wander peacefully and safely in the village's main street, pedestrianised rue Saint-Sauveur with all its Arts and Crafts shops, its fine art galleries and numerous cosy restaurants without forgetting the Place Bellevue where from you will admire the liners moored in the Bay of Cannes.
You will be able to walk to the other villa for 8/9 by the same owner, please ask for details.
More Chic: The villa has entirely been refurbished and is equipped with all modern amenities while retaining its 17th century charm with its 'tommettes' (red tiles) ; its old stone fountain dated 1867; its ancient stone 'lavoir' (wash-place); its old wine press where the owner's father, grand-father and great-grandfather used to 'tread' the grapes from their land barefoot and finally its rounded staircase 'confiturier' (marmalade cabinet) to keep the orange preserves they had made from the bitter 'Bigarade' oranges that grew (and still grow) in the garden. The garden is planted with jasmine, orange, tangerine- and olive-trees (that make a natural parasol over the elegant garden furniture) not to mention a Muscat grape vine that yields delicious grapes.

I stayed here with friends for three weeks in July and August 2012 and everyone was delighted with the house, its garden and its location. Indeed the first thing everyone said was “The photographs don’t do this justice”. When we had any queries, both Janet in Ireland and Patrice in Cannes were more than helpful and everything they told us was surpassed by the reality when we arrived. The house contained all that anyone might need for a short or long stay and all the rooms were light and airy, with magnificent Provencal shutters and air conditioning throughout. The standard of accommodation was very high indeed. The garden was professionally tended and the terrace in the first floor offered peace and privacy. Le Cannet itself is a peaceful village with everything we needed in the way of beautiful French provisions, from bakers to butchers to fishmongers and more besides, including a delightful cinema at the bottom of the street. There are plentiful, varied restaurants within walking distance, several in a magnificent ‘place’ with views over the bay of Cannes; and an artists’ quarter as well! The location also brought advantages in being away from the bustle of Cannes but within easy reach by frequent local busses, direct to the rail station, and reliable taxis. In addition the location also proved to be eminently suitable for exploring the Cote D’Azur avoiding Cannes town and its traffic. Relaxing, peaceful, yet easily accessible, we would recommend this property without hesitation to friends.Owner response: We are delighted that you enjoyed this beautiful villa for your holiday and we appreciate your comments very much. Hopefully more guests can enjoy this experience as you did. Many thanks Janet

I stayed from Friday to Monday and I couldn't believe I had to leave this little paradise. It was so good to come back to le Cannet after La Croisette's madness. Really lovely property, quiet and very sunny. The roof of grapes in the garden made me feel like in a true fairytale. Amazing taste, loved the pink/ocre walls, very good beds and showers- very well restored. I had a beautiful experience staying there and I would recommend this property to everyone.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Myself and two colleagues stayed in this beautiful villa whilst on a business trip in Cannes and the property absolutely surpassed our expectations! Before we arrived in Cannes both Janet and Patrice were extremely helpful with any queries we that we had about our upcoming trip and once we arrived at the villa we were received an extremely warm greeting by Patrice who showed us around the extensive property. The villas location is set back from central Cannes in a very peaceful French village location, but the seafront and all of the main attractions are easily reached by taxi in a few minutes, or alternatively there is a bus stop a 2 minute walk from the property. All of the rooms and external space of the property were very clean and well presented, with some of the property having recently undergone refurbishment to a very high standard. The downstairs bathroom is gorgeous!!! When it came time for us to leave the villa Patrice was again on hand to help us with our departure, even ensuring we had a taxi booked for our return journey to Nice airport. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a lovely tranquil and quiet property to stay in whether it be for business or pleasure. We are already looking to book it up again for next year!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
