About the owner: Growing up in Chicago, Jim traveled west to ski & attend Colorado College. In summer he spent weekends on the Tarryall with the Sprague family on fishing trips where they had a cabin. Jim & Steve Sprague were college buddies. EJ was a passionate fly fisherperson & Marshall was a western author and journalist. (Newport In The Rockies, Money Mountain, The Great Gates).
Jim fell in love with the Tarryalls and bought the Rolling OM Ranch near the Sprague's.
Jim met Stephanie in Berkeley during the 60's, where she grew up and went to San Francisco State. They returned to Colorado as part of the back to the land movement where their 2 children were born at the Rolling OM Ranch. During those years they embraced the emerging evnironmental and sustainable lifestyle with milk goats, chickens and an enormous vegitable garden. They raised native grass hay & Appaloosa's for pack trips into the Lost Creek Wilderness. Jim and Stephanie now divide their time between the ranch, their other vacation property on Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon, or their sailboat back in Berkeley
