It's just 5 or 6 houses up the Paradise Canal to your private dock and fish cleaning station. Upon boating out of the Paradise Canal, you will be looking directly at Sanibel Island with Ft Myers beaches to the left through the Sanibel bridges. To the right will take you to Captiva Islands, Cayo Costa (state park island), and many smaller islands and keys. Don't miss Cabbage Key, home of 'cheese burger in paradise'. These waters hold truly world class fishing, including the Tarpon capitol of the world, Boca Grande Pass. You will see Dolphin almost every time you go out, starting in the canal. However, you don't have to go that far to fish. Try right off the dock. You are also situated in some of the best kayak and wade fishing in Florida. Pine Island is a hold back from the Florida of old. It is solid relaxation. There are no high rises and crowded beaches on the island. Reaching Florida's finest, and secluded beaches is best by boat, so bring yours or rent one locally. Tie it up in your back yard. Check out the local history. Pirates of all sorts and fame ran these waters. Many say there is still buried treasure on these islands. Did you know Ponce de Leon was shot in a skirmish with the Calusa Indians off Pine Island, and later died in Cuba from the arrow wound? Eat, Drink, Fish, Relax, Relax.

About the owner: We used to take family vacations to my grandparents home in Panama City some 55 years or so ago. The memories are still strong. My wife and I decided to look for a second home in Florida to enjoy the warmth and fishing when we retire. After about two years of looking at different areas, we drove through the Matlacha area to see Pine Island. That was that. Here we are.
