Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 0000

Hello everyone, my name is Daniela, I was born in Lucca and live in a
house in a pleasant area of the suburbs.
In the photo I am on the beach of Viareggio with my beloved granddaughter
Gulia now 7 years old. When I have half a day off I like drive her to sea,
it is a short journey of 15 minutes and then ... there fun a lot to play with the sand and the waves in the sea.
When the time for being together is short we willingly go to the play park that is just located close to the holiday house.

Why the Owner Chose Lucca

This house is very old, the palace was built by the Archbishop in the eighteenth century.
Two sisters of my grandfather have bought and lived in this apartment. I have inherited it some
years ago and I think of going to live there when I am a little 'older so even if I can no longer drive the car I will have everything I need close to home.

The Unique Benefits of this Apartment

When I am in this home fell close contact with the magic heart of Lucca, from its ancient and fascinating architectural beauty, to the many artistic, cultural, religious events, from markets to concerts in the squares to classical music in some of the many churches.
Even if I'll be alone just getting out from the house I can find people to chat friendly and I know I can rely on neighbors as they are very kind and always willing to help every time I ask them for a favor.
I feel that this will be my future nest, warm and cozy in winter, fresh and relaxing in summer.

    • We were a party of 3 adults who spent a week in the apartment during the summer of 2008. Our experience was much like the other comments posted. The apartment is relatively quiet, but close to shops, restaurants and sites of interest, as is all of Lucca. We had a rental car during the week. Driving to the apartment was easy as it is just inside the walls. While parking was outside the walls we never had a problem finding free parking relatively close by. The apartment was comfortable for 3. The garden was a nice place to eat dinner and the kitchen windows provided a view, while eating breakfast, of the passing parade on top of the walls. The apartment is great both for a visit to Lucca, or as a base for travel by car in the area as well as by train.

    • I agree with the positive comments already given. Lynne and I stayed for a week. We were met at the station by Daniela who drove us to the station and explained how everything worked. We both loved Lucca and in spite of some rain explored the town within the walls. The apartment is very comfortable. In particular the kitchen is well equipped and we took advantage of the many shops to prepare some meals “at home”. The “library” is useful with lots of tourist information and books and magazines in various languages. I certainly recommend the apartment to all those who want a quiet holiday and to experience life in Tuscany. We are hoping to return in a year or two.

    • We had a lovely stay in this apartment during the winter of 2006. It was cozy and warm during the cold, rainy days, and sunny when the weather lifted. The owner is a delight - very helpful, very friendly, and the location was ideal. Lucca is a cittadina which is perfect in itself for touring; in addition, it is close to many interesting places nearby. The garden on the property was not used during our stay becasue of the weather but we could see how lovely it must be for a stay during nice weather. We expected the wintry weather, and enjoyed the local restaurants with no problems getting reservations. The markets, shops and cafes, as well as the great walks around the wall and the winding streets of Lucca made this a perfect place for a two week vacation.

A large, clean, and bright apartment with a great location inside the old city walls of Lucca. The apartment was very spacious and had all the equipment you could need and good security. Short walking distances to butcher/baker/supermarket/restaurants and safe walking throughout the town. Has the bonus of a private garden and is in a fairly quiet part of town a short walk from the train station. Bookcase is well stocked and basic tourist info on the town and surrounding area is provided. We really enjoyed using the kitchen and were able to cook complete meals with plenty of preparation and service pieces. We were pleased to see a good sized fridge included in the kitchen and as long as your needs are restricted to Tuscan/Italian cooking styles you will have no problems. With the great local shopping, fresh meats, cheeses, and olive oils, estate wines and all, we had great fun putting together our many meals. The owner is delightful and a joy to work with in planning your stay. Lucca itself is wonderful city with many things to do and see and is a fine base for exploring the area. Easy access to local trains means you do not need a car and allows for day excursions to Pisa, Florence, Viareggio, etc. Full local train timetable provided and the station is only 2 minutes walk. Tourist car parking is restricted to areas outside the city walls - nearest free parking is at the station. We look forward to returning.
