Ark Royal is a fully equipped, 2-bedroom, 1-bath condominium apartment in the leafy urban suburb of Sea Point. The Ark is a secure building that includes secure off-street parking.
Sea Point is the ideal jumping off point to see Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and the Western Cape. By car, you are 5 minutes from the V&A waterfront and city center, 10 minutes to the Table Mountain tramway and the Clifton and Camps Bay beaches. You are 20-30 minutes from some of the best golf in the Western Cape. The wine routes are 20 minutes to an hour away.
Open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area with seating for 4. The sitting area comes equipped with an entertainment centre, including satellite TV (US/UK programming), stereo and CD/DVD players. The kitchen has a stove, oven, microwave, double door refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kettle, utensils, etc. Balcony has table and chairs for 4 with mountain and partial sea views. Most of our guests use the balcony as their outdoor sitting and dining area.
The amply-sized main bedroom has a Queen-size bed. The smaller second bedroom has single bunk beds and is good for one adult or two kids but is tight for 2 adults. Both bedrooms have a built-in wardrobe and a dressing table. The full bath has a combination bath/shower. Quality linens and towels are supplied. The Ark is decorated in an African theme, with original oil paintings and African folk art throughout.
You are located on Hall Road, a quiet, residential street running between Beach Road and Main Road, and just up from the famous Winchester Mansions Hotel. Beach Road runs along the waterfront and with its broad pedestrian promenade is great for walking, jogging and people watching. Main Road provides all the necessities of life, such as shops, restaurants, coffee bars, post office, Internet cafes, etc. Public transport to the Waterfront or to city center is available from Main Road and Beach Road. One can manage quite well without a car.

Hi, my name is Marie, and I'll be your host during your stay in Sea Point. My husband and I have roots going back to the founding of South Africa. We welcome you to South Africa and are confident you will enjoy your stay in Sea Point.
Why the Owner Chose Cape Town
My husband and I live inland, in the scenic Breede River Valley. We bought this "pied á terre" in order to have a place to stay in the city without the necessity of a hotel. The location is wonderful. It's close to everything - the city, Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, the beaches, golf, the Cape Peninsula, the wine routes, you name it.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Great location and budget friendly. The pedestrian promenade on Beach Road is a great asset. You can walk for miles or kilometers in either directions, toward the Waterfront or the Beaches.

Even though we didn't know much about the city, this looked like a good option for a place to stay while we visited our daughter. We spent 2 weeks at the Ark Royale in December 2011. It was pretty close to perfect. As the owner describes, the condo is very comfortable, has everything you need for a family of four and is in a great location that allows you to walk to the grocery store, laundry, and other shops or take a taxi to downtown or the Water front. A block the other direction, we walked to the promenade along the Atlantic -- a beautiful place to walk, jog, or sit and relax. We walked out every night to watch the sunset. And on top of that, the apartment is really tastefully decorated so it was a pleasure to settle in each evening for a glass of wine and a movie. Finally, I want to thank the owner, Marie, for all her help in getting us oriented, making it so easy to arrange for payment and being responsive to all our questions and needs. (We were probably more needy that most renters, coming from the US.) She is great!

This little flat is ideally located and started our South African trip off to a great start. Sea Point is a perfect spot if you want to be in a neighborhood, in a flat that has it all. It was so nice to know that we had this little home away from home to start our journey off with. The owners were more than accommodating. Just great.

marie's getaway is a delight with the location super. 1/2 block with safety jump into a shared mini cab on main street near nando's chicken restaurant[yummy food]for 4.5 rands and get into downtown in 15-20 minutes. also internet cafes and laundries abundant there. walk 1/2 to beach avenue and bus [4.5 rands] goes to the waterfront in 15 minutes and really enjoy the best of capetown at the waterfront cafes, malls, restaurants, clubs etc etc. at maries corner at beach go to the sunday brunch or dinner at the class winchester hotel. marie left her telephone on which was a great help.

thoroughly enjoyed our stay . apartment great, well appointed with lots of essentials that may be needed. Location excellent and central to so much. Couldn't be better. would definitely stay there again and reccomend it to other travellers to Cape Town.

I would just like to recommend this Condo as one of the best places to stay in South Africa. We have been travelling in Southern Africa for the last 3 months and Sea Point and this condo is such a high light of our trip. The condo is perfectly furnished and immaculate. A true home away from home. The owners (Chris and Marie) made us feel so welcome and gave excellent advice. We will definitely be back and recommend staying here to anyone that is staying into capetown.

We stayed in this comfortable apartment for two separate weeks during our three month stay in South Africa. We found that the apartment was close to all amenities. Walkers and Joggers will be delighted because it is very close to the ocean. Also, Cape Town is a shopper's paradise!!! We spent the rest of the three months at the house in Vermont which is owned by the same people.We would recommend this apartment and/orhouse anytime. The owners are very amiable.
