Wonderful place in an excellent location. Even during the "off-season" for whale watching this is a beautiful location with spectacular views of the ocean, and proximity to amazing sights from Cape Point to the wine region.

Traveled a lot in my days but this was a first. I'm sitting on the patio watching the sun set over the ocean, whales visible a few hundred feet from shore, eating fresh lobster we bought from a fellow who came right to our door. So quiet here, especially at night. Sound of the sea really puts you to sleep. Great house.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The flat was very well equipped,clean & comfortable. The position so close to the sea was wonderful and the views of the whales were a real bonus. We would certainly go back again even if the whales had left.

We were fortunate to stay here for a week in late October and had a perfect relaxing break. Whales to watch from our front balcony for breakfast!!The view from our bedroom also gave us the opportunity to take in the wonderful sea vista. The house itself had absolutely everything you could want to make the holiday memorable with well appointed rooms and furniture well suited for the beach environonment, and was oh so peaceful!!The location was ideal for visiting the gorgeous wineries and restaurants in the nearby valley and for energetic hiking in the Fernkloof The local shops were handy for provisions with an excellent butcher for meat for the brie!We had a wonderful time and hope to return in the future.

thanks so much to marie and chris for allowing us to spend the last 6 nights of our fantastic holiday in south africa in their beautiful home. the views from the sitting room, family room and main bedroom are fantastic. we woke up each morning with the sound of the sea. the views were to die for. we sat on the patio each morning and watched the whales. a fantastic time was had by all.

Absolutely spectacular. I have visited many holiday homes, however this one is definitely home away from home. The house is SO WELL EQUIPPED!!! Everything is there and even more. Having been greeted with an ice cold bottle of champagne in the fridge and the christmas tree up (knowing we were going to be there over christma) made one feel welcome at one. Absolutely wonderful to lie in bed and watch the sun come up over the sea and fall asleep to the sound of the waves whispering in your ear. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I can recommend this HOME to anyone who enjoys a luxury, peaceful, and nature rich holiday.

We are for 3 weeks in your home in Hermanus and we liked it very much. The house is very comfortable and everything is in it. The view is also very nice.

Eight of us stayed here and thought it was lovely. We made dinner both nights and thought the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cutlery. Fantastic view, too! Note: it's a short drive away from Hermanus, but we thought the location was perfect.

We very much enjoyed staying at this sea front property. It was large and well appointed and had a real home feel that made us feel as if we were at our own vacation place. Marie was kind enough to call and make sure all was up to our expectations and see if there was anything else we needed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Hermanus.

We stayed at this wonderful oceanfront house in August 2005. It was winter there. But the weather was so nice, the flowers back the house were beautiful. The house has plenty rooms. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean view directly from the big windows of its living room, dinner room, TV room, Master bedroom, as well as the back deck. We enjoyed walking along the walking path between the house and water. The house is a great base to explore Cape Town, one of the most beautiful tour city in the world! We went to Hermanus (nearby) to watch Southern White whales and enjoy South African sea food. Thanks Marie and Chris for inviting us to visit their family. The trip to their wonderful grape farm and their warm hospitality are unforgettable. We love our stay in the house and can't imagine anyone being disappointed with a visit to Cape Town, South Africa!

We stayed at this comfortable home for three months. It offers spectacular ocean views from its wall of windows.There is a long deck for the days that you just feel like taking the sun or reading a book. The sounds from the ocean put you to sleep at night. It is a little bit of heaven!!! The owners are very friendly and wonderful people to deal with.

This has been a family second home for some 25 years and I have only recently offered it for rent on VRBO. However, I have used it for home exchange for many years and will gladly offer references from exchangers on request. It truly is a spectacular site, in a much sought after resort area, and a great base from which to see Cape Town, the wine routes of the Western Cape, and the Garden Route.
