NIce place but not very clean

I really enjoyed the view from this unit and the bed was so comfortable. However I was not happy to arrive to such a dirty place. Once I cleaned it up it was fine but I shouldnt of had to do it. The coffee pot was so filthy, when I wiped it down I noticed that there was moldy coffee grinds in the caraffe that had been there quite awhile as it now resembled a small furry animal. It really smelled. The bathroom was covered in body hair on the floor and in the shower. Yuck! The garborater had moldy food sitting in which made the kithchen smell awfull. I took us awhile to figue out what stunk so bad. I have emailed the owner since they may not even know that their cleaner is doing such a bad job, however they never responded. Seems that they do not care. It did not ruin our Holiday however it would have been nice to have an apology from the owner.

Owner response:I think the main problem was,they were a late checkin,and in the email I sent,I let them no there was a lock box on the door,they tryed to get into the lobby lockbox,which I didnt no existed,In the future I will indicate that the box is on the actual room door.I was in the room before these guest,I spent a half hour cleaning the bath toilet area,early in the morning,after that I went to the coffee store to get a coffee,when I got back my friend was up and ready to head to the airport,I didnt realize he had taken a shower,as he used a towel he had brought with him.As far as the coffee pot,I drink espresso and did not use it,I talked to my cleaning person and they said that it wasnt out last time they cleaned,so a guest must have put it in the cabinet,the cleaners are now going to take a quick look in all the cabinets,to make sure everything is clean.The reason I didnt get back is,I have been in my place in mexico,and did not have internet to check my email,my sister does that for me when I am away.

We have stayed at this condo several times( 4-6 weeks) and had great experiences! Love the staff and the condo area for swimming, hot tubing and BBQ-ing. We love walking the beach and seeing the cool sunsets! Marty and his wife Kathy are just great people. They are quick to respond to e-mails. They respond quickly to any problems. The condo is close to store Safeway,Longs, Star Market(etc.),snorkeling beaches, the movie theatre, church and Costco is on way from airport. We love the Thai restaurant in the mall next to the postoffice we keep going back and trying different menu items...so yummy. The new furniture and the bedding look great! There is just about everything in the kitchen to cook with one could want. The elevators always have worked when we have stayed so no problem. The Free Wi-Fi will be a great plus! We used the condo as a base to all surrounding area sites such as Road to Hana and the drive to Volcano sunrise and then drive the road all the way from Lahnnia to the city near the airport. Where we would fill up on "Da Kitchen" menu items! One can ask for salad instead of all the traditional two scoops of rice or macaroni! So much to do in Maui and such friendly people! We always went to the swap meet on Saturday and bought wonderful Hawaiian food items and produce and small items to bring back home. Sun bathing and swimming and snorkeling are our favorite things to do...since we have seen all of the museums, Aquarium (is great!) ..even the goat farm and bought some cheese there! We have made friends with quite a few people who live or rent condos here. Many people return all the time so we have seen them on many occasions.(Shared dinner etc and e-mail addresses with them.) Such a nice group of people! Every vacation here has been so great!

Just wanted to thank you folks for the accommodations and beautiful view from your condo. We really enjoyed our trip to Maui . We were able to see most of the island and enjoyed it all…appreciated the masks and snorkels in the water off the Big Beach especially. Rochelle loved the pool, appreciated the kitchen and laundry and the beautiful view from your balcony. Thank you! Lance & Rochelle Lovlin

Maui Marty was just Great!!! He was very quick to respond to my e-mails, the place is nice and clean. This is a great location as very few places in Kihei are Ocean Front, but Kauhale Makai is right on the water! Bring your water sports gear and have fun! The unit has a good view of both Haleakala Volcano and a nice view towards the Ocean. The elevator is just a short walk over and is convienient when bringing in groceries or your luggage. Nice location with easy access to the Airport, Kihei, Wailea, Makena, Lahaina, Kapalua, Kaanapali. Several Restaurants and Grocery stores are also close by along with numerous local artisans making various pieces of art work, jewelry or wood carvings of Tiki's for example. The unit has Central Air Conditioning that can cool the unit down quickly if desired, but it is just as easy to open the sliding door to the Lanai and let the tropical breeze cool you down. Sunrise over Haleakala must be witnessed to be believed from the balcony of this unit. Great value and would definitely stay again! Eric Ringstad.
