Cayman Brac is one of three Cayman Islands, situated 90 miles east and slightly north of Grand Cayman and five miles east of its sister island, Little Cayman. The Sister Islands are listed high on any list of top dive sites in the world and sites on both islands can be dived from "the Brac." Snorkeling is also excellent.

Turtle Crossing is a comfortable 2600 square foot, centrally air conditioned home located on a sandy beach on the south side of the island. The bedrooms are large and two offer king size beds. The third is a balcony bedroom overlooking the living area with two single beds that pushed together approximate a king. Each bedroom has its own full bath.

The house can accommodate six people with ease. There is a fifty foot veranda with table and chairs and lounge chairs. Imagine your morning coffee or, later in the day, a cool drink as you sit watching the waves. There is an outside gas grill and bar area with bar seating(picture), great for entertaining or for the family to gather around and watch pop burn the hotdogs.

You can enjoy a relaxed, secure (there is virtually no crime on the island) vacation. You can dive, snorkel, read, hike nature trails or do nothing but enjoy the wonderful climate.

The owners can assist in arrangements for diving and car rentals. These are best made prior to arrival to ensure availability. Contact by e-mail or phone.

A complementary bottle of wine on arrival, two bicycles for your use, generous reading and video libraries should enhance your enjoyment of Turtle Crossing.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Cayman Brac is a quiet island. At Turtle Crossing we enjoyed sitting on the veranda sipping morning coffee and watching the waves. There is almost always a cooling breeze there. The climate is perfect with the temperature usually in the range of 80-89 degrees F with the higher temperatures being in late July and August. At TC one can read, stroll the beach, wade or swim or do nothing. About three miles away there are bars and restaurants, grocery and other stores. The beach is very private.

Owner's Map of South Side

About ten years ago, after many enjoyable visits over the years, My wife and I and my daughter and son-in-law decided to build a vacation home on Cayman Brac - the house that we are now renting (our daughter and my wife and I are pictured.) After many more memorable visits, My wife and I decided to retire to the island and we built a home next door. I retired from my medical practice and we moved here about seven years ago. We love it here and have never regretted the move.

5-19 Feb., 2011 stay at Turtle Crossing

Our two week stay at Turtle Crossing was outstanding in all respects. It was clean and very comfortale. The owner lives next door and their hospitality was genuine and generous. This was the fourth time we stared at Turtle Crossing and when we return to Cayman Brac I suspect we will again try to stay at Turtle Crossing.

Fifth Visit.

Date of Stay: 02/05/11 Review Submitted: 02/20/11

Groups of friends, ranging from three to six people have stayed at Turtle Crossing five of the last 8 years. Its the perfect secluded hideaway. The property is spotlessly maintained and very private. The owners, who live next door, are friendly, gracious, and eager to accommodate their guests. Situated on the south side of the island, about three miles east of the airport, the villa has a spacious veranda no more than 50' from the waterline. We have alway enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon cocktail hours gazing at the endless waves. The two downstairs bedrooms are huge with king sized beds and en suite bathrooms. The loft bedroom, accessible via a spiral staircase, also has a private bathroom. Although we cook most of our own mealsin its spacious kitchen, the villa is less than a 10 minute drive to the Captain's Table or the Alexander Hotel, the two best restaurants/bars on the island. On Friday or Saturday nights, we enjoy takeout jerk chicken from Esperanza, a local bar and restaurant on the north side of the island and less than 15 minutes away from the villa. I highly recommend Turtle Crossing to anyone who wants a week or two of total comfort and relaxation.
