Playa Santa Teresa bungalow description
Bungalow Guayacan Unit 4 is set around a huge, endangered hardwood tree named the Guayacan, a year round producing Star Fruit Tree, walking trails, gardens, and ocean viewing. The Guayacan is a pool feature and overlooks the bungalow's pool on the ocean side of the property, and the Star Fruit provides shade to the adjacent bungalow (Unit 3) and year-round fruit.
Bungalows Guayacan are 4 units located 55 meters above sea level, 225 meters from the mid-tide line of Punta Pochote, Manzanillo, a 250 meter walk to the beach,Playa Manzanillo, and less than a 5 minute drive to Playa Hermosa.
Bungalow 4 has a full bed, a kitchenette, small refrigerator, two-burner electric stove, coffee maker and all the kitchenware you'll need.
The bungalow is built in a simple one room studio style with the kitchen and bedroom on opposites of the floor plan and a separate bathroom area with the patios placed for pool, monkey, bird, and ocean viewing.
Bungalow Guayacan 4 was added to the property in 2013 and built with laurel wood ceilings and paneling and the patios, door and window frames all accented in teak.
The bungalow comes completely furnished, fully equipped, and is surrounded by lush gardens, gravel walkways, private parking, pressurized hot/cold water, SKY/cable TV, wireless internet, cleaning service, gardener and laundry facilities and/or service needed.
Take time to walk along the trails of our 7 acre property...look for coatis, anteaters, jaguarundis, white face and howler monkeys, various bird species, and iguanas...or find one of our sitting areas and just watch and listen to the ocean.
Our staff can help with any questions or needs, so sit back, relax, and enjoy your stay with us...
The neighborhood is very peaceful with private homes and rental homes spread out in what really is the countryside. It is a stark contrast to the high level of activity just south in Santa Teresa. Some neighbors still pass by on horseback, and it is common to see cows beings herded down the main road to a hand dug well on the beach for water and grazing. The property is located up over the ocean - 55 meters - so you can hear the waves crashing on the reef below. There are no buildings between the ocean and the property. There is a road in front of the property that takes you down to Manzanillo Beach (250 meters) which you can walk or drive. You can go south for less than 5 minutes and arrive at Hermosa Beach.
One of the great things about the beaches here are you can head down Manzanillo Beach all the way to the Bongo River (about 7 km) and somedays rarely see a footprint on the beach.
Below the property on the old road, there is a small, picturesque waterfall that is fed by our springs in the rainy season that flows under the beach road and onto the beach. Along the same road, there are a series of beautiful tide pools where you can find plenty of privacy almost any day of the year.
I love to fish and to surf and there is plenty of that here in Manzanillo, just ask!
One can arrive to the Nicoya Peninsula by direct bus out of San Jose, by renting a car and taking the ferry over from Puntarenas to Paquera, or by Sansa Air or Nature air flying into Tambor.
A car can be rented out of Tambor at Budget Car Rental.
Also, we can offer to pick you up by taxi in Tambor and brought directly to the property as well as stopping in Cobano for groceries for $50.
ATV's....We have negotiated very good prices with various rental agencies for ATV rentals. This is a great option for getting around and lots of fun. Just ask.
We have private and secure parking for our guests.
Finally, many guests ask if a car or ATV is necessary. It depends on the traveler. Some people love to walk and enjoy there time here walking everywhere and seeing everything at a slower pace. I am always impressed by this. But in general, I recommend some type of vehicle during your stay so you can really get to know everything the peninsula has to offer, but it is not necessary as we have taxis that provide great service to our guests and can take you anywhere you wish to go.

The last time I traveled to Costa Rica was 1996 and I never had the chance to see the Nicoya Peninsula. I was so lucky to be able to discover Senderos De Paz, a beautiful piece of paradise perched on top of the hill overlooking the beaches of Manzanillo. As a female traveling alone I would highly recommend this place because it is private, safe, and within walking distance of restaurants, nearby beaches of playa Hermosa, Manzanillo, surf schools, and of course yoga. My studio was perfect, extremely clean, amazing wood work, and tiling. It would easily accommodate a couple and the property has chairs, bodegas and paths all over to keep you easily entertained outside. Trey, the owner and operator was always available to answer questions, assist with any issues, offer a ride and tell a good story or two. He has a great staff working with him and they are always smiling and keeping the rooms and property in great condition. The two pools on site are warm and great for relaxing in during the day and evening and with an ever present view of the ocean. The sunsets from the property are incredible, the second pool has bar stools you can perch on in the water and drink in the colors of the evening. The wildlife on the property is abundant, monkey's, parrots, iguanas, frogs and a lovely dog named "Winston" to lend you his paw at any time. I had the most relaxing holiday at Sendoros De Paz and would come back here again. I was able to walk to a yoga studio every morning, play in the surf and come back to utter tranquility each evening.

Why the Owner Chose Playa Santa Teresa:
I chose Manzanillo because it is far enough away from the action and the congestion of Santa Teresa, but close enough to hop in the car or on a 4-wheeler and have access to anything and everything one could want - and most importantly, the private and pristine beaches and the outstanding surfing and fishing Manzanillo has to offer!
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
The bungalows are surrounded by a plethora of indigenous trees, and the pool has a very old endangered Guayacan tree on the ocean side. The entire property is 3 hectares (approx. 7.5 acres) and is connected by walking trails with ocean views from almost every corner of the property. The property has been reforested and planted which has brought back the birds, butterflies and animals to the property. You can sit anywhere on the property and hear the waves crashing below down at Punta Pochote.
