Full Abalone is just a few steps from the sugar white Gulf Coast beach that has been completely untouched by the oil spill off the Louisiana coast. The house is also just steps away from the beautiful freshwater Oyster Lake. A private balcony facing the Gulf and a walk-out deck have great views of the water and the incredible sunsets over the Gulf and the lake.
The house has four bedrooms including a Master Suite with walk-in closet and jetted tub, plus two other bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen with Granite Counters. It sleeps up to 12 people in comfort. Stay connected with free Wi-Fi and entertained with a new 46-inch flat-screen TV and home theater sound system in the great room. Every bedroom has a TV and DVD player and two bedrooms have new flat-screens.
The pool is next to the lake and one lot away from our front door. The home is alongside a 17-mile bike and walking path that runs along 30A and also loops around the lake. There are several great restaurants and a golf course within easy walking or biking distance. Santa Rosa Beach is a quiet, family-oriented area with no high-rise condos. Yet we're only about 5 miles from Sandestin, 12 miles from Destin and about 25 miles from Panama City Beach.
The Master Bedroom suite has a king-sized bed, a large TV and home theater system, and a walk-out balcony. The master bathroom includes a double-sink vanity and a separate shower. A second bedroom, which opens onto the balcony, has a queen-sized bed. There is a king-size bed and adjacent bathroom in the first-floor bedroom, two double bunk beds (4 total beds) in another bedroom, and a new trundle bed that can be one or two singles in the third-floor loft. The loft has a walk-out private deck with a spectacular view of the gulf and Oyster Lake.
Now you can fly in! The new Panama City Beach airport, about 35 miles from our house, opens May 23, 2010 with Southwest Airlines non-stops from Nashville, Houston, Baltimore and Orlando.

The Unique Benefits at this House
How many vacation homes have you seen where you can walk few steps one way to the beach and a few steps in the other direction to a freshwater lake? We built Full Abalone to be the perfect getaway for our family and our guests. It's in a quiet area of single-family homes with no high-rise condos within five miles. Jeannene likes morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the Gulf and the lake. I look forward to walking or biking on the paved trail that loops around the lake. And we both love the sunsets seen from the third floor deck.
We never run out of things to do in Santa Rosa Beach. These are a few of our favorites: Biking to Tops'l State Park, eating at the Red Bar or Stinky's, playing tennis at Seaside followed by Mojitos at Bud & Alley's, grilling fresh shrimp or fish from the market on Highway 98, renting a pontoon boat for an afternoon cruise out of Destin Harbor, watching the kids play on the great lawns at Gulf Place or Seaside. On rainy days we hit the outlet stores at Silver Sands in Sandestin or spend a quiet day with a good book.

The beaches are beyond beautiful! Capt. Brandon was a great fishing experience. Call him if you need a guide. We will definitely be back.

My sisters and our families rented the pink cottage at Full Abalone on Santa Rosa beach, and all ten of us give the property two thumbs up! From the moment our feet landed on the welcome mat our three families felt at home in your spacious, family-friendly townhouse. The open floorplan on the main level made day to day activities much simpler with such a crowd. The kids awoke every day in a race to the front windows to see what color flag was flying at the beach. Our young children especially loved the bunkroom and 3rd floor crow's nest "for their own privacy". The rest of us big kids were equally as pleased with our rooms and private balconies, especially when we needed to escape the family chaos for a few quiet moments to be alone with the sky and sea. We were blessed with sunny skies, friendly neighbors, great fishing, and mild surf for the entire week. The large front porch, outdoor shower, and hardwood floors made cleaning off after a day at the beach a breeze. We all enjoyed that the pool was only a house away and had an outdoor shower and bathrooms as well. Our only problem was having to eventually leave (plus the rascally raccoons who pillaged the trash every night, but even those little varmints were pretty tidy!).

This house was beautiful, and was so close to a private pool, Bay, and pure white beach sand. It was convenient for us as we walked to the wedding we were there for which was right on the beach. Great views, and great times. (Copied from actual guest book)

This is the last night of our usual fall working vacation. The working part included painting the kitchen and stairway walls, weeding the yard, replacing light bulbs and lots of other little chores. We trashed the old gas grill, so the next guests get to use a brand new one, which also has a new cover. Please keep the grill and the garbage cans in the fenced area. This summer the homeowners association built a new wood fence around the pool and we are starting the process to landscape the area behind the pool. The new foot bridge over Oyster Lake is terrific and we learned there are some great fish in the lake. One fellow showed us an 18-inch bass that he took. Once again, our guests have treated Full Abalone so well that there were no significant problems or repairs. Full Abalone could not have been more perfect for our family of eight. It was perfection in every way - lots of space, tastefully decorated, close to the beach, fully equipped, pool close by. We had a vacation to remember.
