Bright, beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable, luxury upstairs condo in one of Breckenridge's landmark properties in the core of downtown Breckenridge. The property was originally built in 1890 as home for a successful gold miner's Family. The most recent, previous owner's operated their store, the Bay Street Company out of the location and lived upstairs. It was purchased in December of 2012 and a massive top to bottom renovation of nearly everything from subfloor to roofline was undertaken in March of 2013 and completed on December 22, 2013. This is the first time the property has ever been listed for rent. All finishes are custom to the extent that they are not only made for the building but even the wood was specifically sourced from around the country, much of it reclaimed. The bathrooms, and specifically the center master bath will rival or surpass nearly any in the county. All of the bath floors are heated. There is an extra large infinity bath tub, specifically the Kohler SOK, and a steam shower, another wonderful soaking bath, and incredible tile and stone throughout. All of the beds are brand new, which include plush pillow top kings in each bedroom, as well as 3 twins in the historic wing and one fold out twin ottoman in the Central master. It is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy everything that Breckenridge has to offer. Blue sage spa is within 30 yards of the property, the bus stop to access the entire county is across the street. There are 2 private, partially covered parking spaces. The property itself is one of the most photographed properties in Summit county with impressive perennial gardens and plantings. It won the town Christmas lighting competition this year and has been on the cover of Sunset magazine as well as featured in the magazine on more than one occasion.
We have 2 young children. While there are very high end fixtures throughout, the majority of the property is made as safe as possible. Custom grates have been placed on each low window and a gate has been made for the top of the steps. The Historic Wing is the most family friendly with 2 separate rooms and its own 42 inch TV. You must pass through the main room to get to the 2nd which has a twin bed and the Television. The main room has the king bed as well as a twin mattress day bed and a trundle twin beneath that.
The Center master has a king bed and a fold out twin Ottoman. It works well as a small family's room and has the most spacious bath.
The East master is the most private and only has one King, canopy bed.
The historic wing bath is relatively simple with a handmade vanity, onyx counter, vessel sink and bath/shower.
The Center Master is the most complex with a steam shower with a master rain head, movable sprayer arm basic shower head and 4 body sprayers. This bath also has the ceiling filled infinity, effervescing tub, surround sound speakers and 2 sink basins.
The East master bath has a hand made reclaimed barn wood vanity and linen closet, full tile, with onyx tub deck shower with a soaking tub inside. The vanity top is cappuccino onyx and it is a very unique and beautiful bath.

About the owner: We are local business owners who operate the shop in the same building, downstairs. We have been in love with the property since moving to Breckenridge in 1998. Purchasing it was a dream come true and making the residence a rental is an opportunity for us to share this incredible property as well as the town we love with the rest of the world.
Why the Owner Chose Other Historic District Properties: If you come you will know why we chose this property, but if you need convincing, it is one of the only properties in Breckenridge that survived a fire in the late 1800s. While it is not entirely original, a large addition was done in the 80s, it was very tastefully done without destroying the character of the historic portion, as vouched for by our historic landmark status. We have some of the most unique perennial gardens in Breckenridge with the warmth of downtown sheltering some very unique plants that grow no where else, that we know of, in summit county.
The Loft is 3 blocks from the ski lift where my children learned to ski. While the lift does access one of the best beginner areas in the west, it also drops you in an area where you can easily take the cross mountain express to very advanced terrain.
The Loft is very special. It has a very unique history, dating back to the gold rush and the people who have owned it through the years have done great things for the the town and history of Breckenridge!
