Maraide, We just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to stay at the Chatham Retreat for our first family vacation. The house is very cozy and the area is absolutely beautiful. Having Forest Beach right there was great especially since the kids are so young. Seeing the smiles on our kids faces was priceless. We look forward to coming back and exploring all that Chatham has to offer. Thank you again for helping us make some memories that will last a lifetime. God bless!! Sincerely, Lisa, Jason, Justin (5), Jaelyn (2), Hailey (11mths)

(A comment from a family that has come every summer since 2001)Another wonderful vacation at the Chatham Retreat! This place is great for us to enjoy a week away with the comforts of home. Close to the beach, close to town, easy to get to… We spent most of our time on Forest Beach. Our usual journeys took us to watch the fishing boats at the pier, playing at the playgrounds, and shopping for penny candy. Thanks again for sharing your place with us!

We loved the “Chatham Retreat.” Thanks for all the great tips on where to go and what to do. We had a ton of fun! Your cottage is adorable and comfortable and we all want to install outdoor showers in California! Thanks again!

I felt immediately comfortable here. The wonderful living room light helped me focused on writing not rambling. It felt like my own secret beach that I shared. Two weeks is never enough but I tried to breathe in enough sea air to pack my cells till I return.

A wonderful introduction to Cape Cod. The tranquility of the area, the comfort of your home made this stay a real treasure. The opportunity of an open fire plus outside shower were great!

What a comfortable and lovely home! we were completely satisfied with how sweet, cozy and clean every thing was. My children, age 2 and 4.5 had a great time walking the neighborhood and enjoying the beach which is a small walk away. Heaven's Hill was Heavenly! will definitely seek out the Retreat again!!

Chatham Retreat- Perfectly Named

Our visit to Chatham Retreat this year was as wonderful as in years past. We pull in the driveway and the cottage is perfectly nestled in some pine trees and allows privacy also. Walking inside always gives one a feeling of peace and serenity. I loved the way it was decorated from the first time that we came and still do, Cape Cod , for sure, but in a delicate way. Thank heaven we are here in one of our most favorite places to go to to get away from it all. Usually we cook in and have a special evening .Everything is provided to prepare a nice meal, also a beautiful patio and BBQue outside. We walked to Forest Beach and had a great view of the conservation area also as we walked. Chatham Beach is nearby- an absolutely gorgeous beach that changes everytime we come. The blue water and white caps against is is so pretty and the pools of water that have formed just add to the beauty. We drive back at night to watch as the light from Chatham Light shines on the dark water- it is hard to explain the feeling of stress melting , and of safety that such a light can give. We always go downtown Chatham as it is being decorated for the holidays- so old fashioned with beautiful shops and great people. Some nights we drive to different nearby beaches to catch a sunset or sit with a warm drink before retiring for the evening. Our special dinner out is at The Impudent Oyster downtown - good food at a great price. There are eating places for everyone, and we noted this year, a nice coffee shop not far from the home itself. This was our fourth year here and we look forward to a fifth-always sad to leave, but also, always much more relaxed and ready to get back to the real world!.

I have stayed at the Chatham Retreat at least 3 times. The location is fantastic...close to the beach, great neighborhoods to take long walks and close to drive into downtown Chatham...The house is so cozy and comfortably holds 5 people. The backyard has a nice patio to sit and read...and it is great for birdwatching!!! I highly recommend Chatham for a weeks vacation or a long weekend...

We had a great vacation at your cottage. Although due to the weather, it wasn't the vacation we wanted, for me it was the vacation we needed. I managed to read 2 (!!) books... In your description of the cottage and its surroundings, you did not exaggerate in any way: It's as peaceful, beautiful and serenity-inducing (for lack of a better term) as you say. Although in the 3 afternoons when the weather was OK we took the kids to the wide, Coast Guard beaches, they both told me that their favorite was Forest Beach, because the waves were smaller and because you could find both lucky stones and shells. Thank you very much for a much needed serene and relaxing vacation!

(Comments from a family who has visited every summer for over 5 years.) The Chatham Retreat is a really great place to bring a family. It's a short walk to Forest Beach (free) so trips back and forth for lunch are easy without packing a big cooler.
