Why the Owner Chose Island Park
We came to Island Park for a family reunion without knowing much about the location. We fell in love immediately, and started looking for a large cabin to buy that would accomodate our group. Soon, we had turned a lovely home into a wonderful "cabin", with themed bedrooms and lots of wildlife, and knew we wanted to share our cabin with others. Island Park has so much to do, and is so close to the west entrance to Yellowstone, that we could never run out of activities in a whole lifetime! We love walking the short distance to Macks Inn Dinner Theatre, or to the dock on the river to watch a sunset or spot moose. This whole area is just magical to us!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Our cabin just feels cozy, with wildlife decor and cozy spaces. One great thing about our cabin is that when the children are downstairs in any of the three play rooms, the adults can be upstairs visiting and we don't even hear the kids! The cousins get to be loud together, and we older siblings get to catch up undisturbed! Of course, we break up the cousins' fun to do many fabulous activities in the area, from floating the river, to waterskiing on the lake, fishing, trips to Yellowstone, hiking, and of course riding the trails! That's another great thing about our cabin -- you can ride right from the cabin to our favorite snowmobile trail -- Two Top and the "Snow Ghosts", or continue on into Yellowstone. In the summer, the large 1.5 acre lot, with firepit, basketball court, lawn area, 2 decks and coverd hot tub make a great place to relax after busy days in Yellowstone or at the lake.

Snowmobile or ATV from the cabin to this intersection, head east, and out you go! This road is groomed for snowmobiles (no autos) in the winter and heads to the trail system.
Come have a western dinner and live show at the dinner theatre, or just come for the show!
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this cafe specializes in great pizza and has an ice cream parlor. Deck overlooking river.
Sled from the cabin down Big Springs Ave right to the gas station -- very convenient!

We have a large family and love getting all together. We live far away from each other, from North Carolina to California and even Taiwan, and treasure the times we can reunite and make memories. It's especially fun for the cousins -- there are a lot of them! We all love the outdoors and love adventure!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gathering place. Everyone was very accommodating to our needs an willing to work with as far as check in time. We did not have any problems with the cabin and felt like it was in very good condition. We did need any supplies, everything was available and in good working order. We had a large group and there was plenty of room. I really appreciated the fast response when ever I emailed with a question the week before we went. They were very helpful in letting us know what we were asking. We would definately stay ther again.

The house was absolutely fantastic, it was perfect for our family, couldn.t have been better....thank you so much...we loved the area, I did not realize we were so close to Yellowstone, but that was our own fault. The men and boys especially loved the pool table, the girls and children the hot tub. The basketball hoop was great. We really like Johnny Sack's cabin and area. We would definitely recommend this property to other's, in fact we have. We would also stay there again. Island Park Lodging was also great.

We had a great time at The Gathering Place. Island Park is beautiful. Both ATVing and horseback riding were very close to the cabin. We renting ATV's for a full day and there were PLENTY of trails nearby. The cabin was great. We had 17 family members ranging from 9 months to 60. There was something for everyone. The lay out of the cabin was great. The playroom was downstairs and even when the kids were being loud, you couldn't hear them upstairs! The large TV is on the top floor, so when the guys were up there playing video games or watching football (BYU-UTAH game!! Go Utes!) you couldn't hear anything on the main floor. Even with 17 of us in the house we never felt crowed! The second fridge/freezer was a lifesaver! The grounds outside were fun. Lots of tables/chairs to enjoy nature and we had a good time making smores in the firepit and a friendly game of basketball made for lots of fun when we got home from sightseeing. I heard a few times throughout the week that the cabin was even better then they expected! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

We had a GREAT! time. You have a wonderful bacin. We had fun in Yellowstone and a fun, wet time floating the river! We had bonfires at night and played in the hot tub. The cabin was spacious with plenty of room for all! Thanks for a fabulous time!

It was a great place to all be together as a family, some of the family members aren't able to be together very often, so it was good memories. Nice to have different levels for everyone to run around. Love the big room upstairs. I love how you decorated each room in a different theme! Also to have a play room for the children and reading room! Something for everyone! Thanks for sharing your home with us. Very nice place. We all had a good time together. Very nice that the home is big enough to fit us all 24 total with quite a few babies. Nice to find a place to have us all under one roof.

The past 5 days have been so great. We had beautiful weather until the last day. There were 5 families staying in this cabin and it was wonderful. There were 10 adults and 14 kids. We all loved the space and comfort. We've never been in this cabin before, but we will definitely come back and stay here again.

What a wonderful place! Our large...huge family has had a great time here where we could all be together, yet still have our own "private" spaces and room to play. We all played in one way or another: cards, guitars, pool, piano, rummikub, charades, basketball, DVDs, etc, etc, etc. Thank YOU!!

We held our once every 2 years get-together here June 18-24. We were happy to find this wonderful place in this beautiful area for this 3 generation reunion of families and individuals from California, Utah, Maryland, and Rhode Island (soon to be Germany). We indulged in ATV-ing, river rafting (in the rain), fishing, horseshoes, ping pong, pool, sight-seeing (including Teton and Yellowstone Nat'l Parks), entertainment (bar J Wranglers and our own talent show), exercising, games, great conversations and reminiscing, great food (mostly fixed here), bonfires, birthday and anniversary parties, a pinata event and so much more. We laughed and enjoyed being together above all and refused to believe the time would come that we would have to separate and go our own ways. Thank you so much for letting us stay here and have this joyous time together.
