  We found the house large enough to accommodate our group but the room sizes were a little miss leading. We slept in the basement which was not heated!!! Space heaters used in the bedroom and bathroom. I don't think the house is really set up for a large group of snowmobilers especially if you bring your own sleds. Parking trailers and trucks were a challenge. Guests are also asked to take their garbage with them or to the landfill OR pay to have the garbage taken away which we did. I believe the landfill is quite a drive from the house. The microwave worked half the time and the one coffee maker didn't work all that great and could really use a second coffee pot with so many people in the house.

  Owner response: We very much appreciate mention of such items so we can make our cabin even more enjoyable for the future. We also encourage guests to call us during their stay if there is anything they are having trouble with, such as the microwave, heaters, and coffee pots, so that we can get items such as this fixed during their stay. We were unaware the microwave was not working and will fix that asap, as well as buy more coffee pots and heaters. The basement is not heated with wall heaters...just space heaters...but we have found for our families that they are adequate when left running. However, we will look into installing wall heaters there...we don't want our guests to be cold! The Gathering Place actually has more parking than most cabins its size, with 2 separate parking areas. Guests, if you ever need additional parking, please call us and we will help you find parking nearby. I agree with the reviewer...the trash situation is not good in Island Park, but having guests take trash to the landfill is standard for the cabins here since there is no one providing trash service in the town. Future guests: please call if something happens during your stay. People love our cabin as much as we do and it is disappointing to us both if something goes wrong. We want your stay to be great!

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Gathering place. Everyone was very accommodating to our needs an willing to work with as far as check in time. We did not have any problems with the cabin and felt like it was in very good condition. We did need any supplies, everything was available and in good working order. We had a large group and there was plenty of room. I really appreciated the fast response when ever I emailed with a question the week before we went. They were very helpful in letting us know what we were asking. We would definately stay ther again.

  The house was absolutely fantastic, it was perfect for our family, couldn.t have been better....thank you so much...we loved the area, I did not realize we were so close to Yellowstone, but that was our own fault. The men and boys especially loved the pool table, the girls and children the hot tub. The basketball hoop was great. We really like Johnny Sack's cabin and area. We would definitely recommend this property to other's, in fact we have. We would also stay there again. Island Park Lodging was also great.

  We had a great time at The Gathering Place. Island Park is beautiful. Both ATVing and horseback riding were very close to the cabin. We renting ATV's for a full day and there were PLENTY of trails nearby. The cabin was great. We had 17 family members ranging from 9 months to 60. There was something for everyone. The lay out of the cabin was great. The playroom was downstairs and even when the kids were being loud, you couldn't hear them upstairs! The large TV is on the top floor, so when the guys were up there playing video games or watching football (BYU-UTAH game!! Go Utes!) you couldn't hear anything on the main floor. Even with 17 of us in the house we never felt crowed! The second fridge/freezer was a lifesaver! The grounds outside were fun. Lots of tables/chairs to enjoy nature and we had a good time making smores in the firepit and a friendly game of basketball made for lots of fun when we got home from sightseeing. I heard a few times throughout the week that the cabin was even better then they expected! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

  We had a GREAT! time. You have a wonderful bacin. We had fun in Yellowstone and a fun, wet time floating the river! We had bonfires at night and played in the hot tub. The cabin was spacious with plenty of room for all! Thanks for a fabulous time!

  It was a great place to all be together as a family, some of the family members aren't able to be together very often, so it was good memories. Nice to have different levels for everyone to run around. Love the big room upstairs. I love how you decorated each room in a different theme! Also to have a play room for the children and reading room! Something for everyone! Thanks for sharing your home with us. Very nice place. We all had a good time together. Very nice that the home is big enough to fit us all 24 total with quite a few babies. Nice to find a place to have us all under one roof.

  A couple of us have been here before and had to bring the other side of our family here. We love all of the variety that this lodge has to offer for a family of all ages. We have had a great experience and have made memories that will last a lifetime. We appreciate having such a beautiful and comfortable place to gather. We will surely come again. Thank you!!!

  The past 5 days have been so great. We had beautiful weather until the last day. There were 5 families staying in this cabin and it was wonderful. There were 10 adults and 14 kids. We all loved the space and comfort. We've never been in this cabin before, but we will definitely come back and stay here again.

  What a wonderful place! Our large...huge family has had a great time here where we could all be together, yet still have our own "private" spaces and room to play. We all played in one way or another: cards, guitars, pool, piano, rummikub, charades, basketball, DVDs, etc, etc, etc. Thank YOU!!
