Hi John and Carrie This was our 4th stay at your beautiful home and we can't get enough of stowe. It was our first summer trip as we're normally skiers and try to take a long weekend in early December and another in early April when the rates are lowest and it's not so cold either. Lovely house and the kids made use of the home theater, pool table and ping pong. Incredible views so we'll see you in a few months when the snow starts flying again. Many thanks.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We stayed here for a week this summer. It's an awesome location, but the property isn't as advertised. Carpets worn, mattresses old and uncomfortable, many of the electronics weren't operable or hooked up correctly (we asked the handyman for help when he was there and he tried, but couldn't figure it out either.) The deck is a splinter (or worse) waiting to happen and the kitchen is lacking in many of the basics you'd want on a vacation-like enough wine glasses. The property din't seem well maintained and was generally dated and worn. And it wasn't very clean (crumbs on the floor, dust on mantles and window sills). We contacted Carrie upon arrival to seek help, but her response was to text their housekeeper in Stowe who wasn't very helpful. I knew this to be the case since I contacted her first. I contacted John after we returned and he told me Kyle the manager would be in touch. Three weeks and still waiting. It is a spectacular location, though. If the property had been advertised accurately, i probably wouldn't have been as bothered. But, when some tells you theirs is a luxury property, you expect it to be so. There are many awesome properties in Stowe that have the "wow" factor. If you're looking for awesome or wow, I suggest you look elsewhere.Did you find this review helpful? My cousin has rented this house many times so this year we did it for our family and my wife's relatives piled in as well. This house has everything. Very reasonable price I might add for such a big beautiful home. Nice leather furniture, carpeting in some rooms and now the owners did over the kitchen with heated floors and a more open concept. We're sports fans so the big screen tv gets a lot of use and we crank up the music on the big speakers. The master bedroom is where I stay, upstairs with a view right over to the mountain and it's usually a blizzard when we're there. but to wake up on a sunny morning with that view is heavenly. Nice clean home, good seasoned firewood for the fireplaces and the game room with pool table is a big hit for the kids while the grown-ups are usually upstairs. It must have the largest family room of any house in Stowe and has an entire wall of glass facing the ski mountain. An excellent value, especially if you can do weekdays as we often stay through a Tuesday and let the kids miss a few days of school as it's a long drive for us to Stowe. John the owner gives us a repeat guest discount which also helps. I'm dying to try his St. Martin houses which look pretty good on the website but we are die-hard skiers. This must be the 5th or 6th time we've stayed at this house and I wish it were mine. The living room is huge with a direct view of the ski mountain like a painting. We build a huge fire in the massive stone fireplace and I'm in the wine biz so we always are well stocked for vino. An amazing house, plus a high definition big screen, game room and pool table and the incredible ski mountain known as Stowe. It doesn't get better. regards, KennyDid you find this review helpful? We've rented from these owners in the past, this house and their St. Martin house so we feel like we're regulars. Start with the views. Not just impressive but out of this world. We're winter people at Stowe for the skiing but I'm tempted to try a few days in the summer since they have an outdoor heated pool in the backyard. There is an outdoor hot tub for the winter but I've never used as it's usually zero degrees when we're there. I'm not a skier like my other family members so I take over the kitchen which is a delight, big and well stocked with cookware, dinner ware and glasses with owner's logo which is cute. The floors are heated which is a nice touch as you can walk around barefoot on the coldest of nights. Beds are comfy and most have bedspreads with deer or bears or even New England Patriots logos on them. The kids love the game room and the big white board they can write on. and of course the ping pong. 3 fireplaces in this house so we keep one going all the time. It's a great getaway and Stowe is a wonderful quaint town, very European. Pat and PaulDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

Hi John and Carrie 5 years in a row we've been staying at your house on Notchbrook Rd. so I'm happy to write my comments for you. Big house, 6 bedrooms and 2 nice masters though the one upstairs is mine with the incredible views of the slopes. All night we watch the grooming machines going up and down the slopes. Did I mention views? These are the best. The house is really nice sited so the huge living room faces the slopes, 2 of the big peaks of Stowe mountain ski area. Wonderful big open kitchen, plasma tv and great sound system to crank the tunes while sipping wines. the big fireplace in the family room is just incredible and we had roaring fires every day. Loved the new hot tubs you installed on the outside, but I'm a fireplace lady so I just sit there and read with flames roaring away. The kids and I love Stowe so we'll be back to your house again. Maybe next time we'll try one of your other Stowe houses but this house can't be beat My best to you and your family. Darlene and kidsDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

Received your e-mail today about upcoming availability for your vacation rentals and realized that I have failed to share our reaction to the house on Notchbrook Rd in Stowe. Sorry that this has taken so long. Wish you had a spot on your web pages so that renters could post reviews. Here’s what mine would say: 6 seniors, all friends and neighbors from Tampa, FL. spent a remarkable week at your 1936 Notchbrook house in Stowe. We were immediately drawn to the rear deck with its spectacular view of Mt. Mansfield. We had all had prior experiences with on line rentals, but this one, by far, was the best equipped. I could imagine large family groups with multiple age groups spreading out all over the huge house partaking of the activities such as the pool table, ping pong, the media room with the 10’ screen, the poker table, assorted chess tables, the pool, hot tub, 2 bars, the computer room, laundry room, and more. Naturally we all gathered around the fireplace and TV in the living room to watch the sports. The 4 huge master suites, separated on opposite ends of the house, allowed getting away for those who wanted to nap or go to bed early. I have never seen a vacation rental home with a better equipped kitchen and laid out in such a way that we could all contribute to the meal prep without bumping into each other. Other than dinner one night at the Trapp Lodge we prepared all breakfasts and all evening meals at your house. We really appreciated the solitude of the mountain location – no need for hub-bub and noisy hotel hallways for us – but yet we knew that the “action” was just a few short miles down the road if we chose to participate. We will be back, probably with a much larger group to fill up the 8 queen beds. While everyone back home appreciated the photos of the beautiful scenery and our finds at the area gift and craft shops, the biggest raves were about our accommodations. Thanks so much. Dear John, just a quick note to say thanks for the house rental--it was just perfect and the ideal location and facility for our family gathering. Everyone raved and we are hoping to make this an annual event (stayed at 911 Notchbrook rd. house)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Just a quick note to let you know we all enjoyed 911 Notch brook house and had a great time in Stowe last weekend. It was a very busy 4 days after "forcing" myself to go back to work. The house has a lot of character and we all found it to be very comfortable. The HUGE great room was a big hit, as was the movie theater and pool table. We also drove down the road and checked out your new house at 1936 Notchbrook Rd. Love what you've done to that place. Looks like that house has even better views than 911 Notchbrook if that's possible? anyway, thanks for being easy to work with and I love your operating style. The little extras make a big difference over your competition. Sincerely, Dave.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
