LOCATION:
The charming Joy Chalet back yard is at the edge of a 33 acre woodlands forest in a small community of cedar chalets. It’s conveniently located just off Interstate 26 Exit 40 at the south edge of Asheville close to restaurants, shopping and the Biltmore House. Walk the woodlands path from the back yard to the creek and tree bench swing. It is 15 minutes to downtown Asheville, downtown Hendersonville or the Biltmore House. LIVING ROOM:
A cheerful gas stone fireplace in a soaring 20 foot wall with a lovely oil painting above greet you as you enter your front door. The luxuriously comfortable couches and rich marble tables are quietly elegant and a perfect nest to watch your flat screen 37" HDTV with simple-to-use built-in DVD. Choose from over 100 movies in our video library or watch cable TV. Better yet, it’s the ideal spot to just peacefully sit and unwind in front of the fire.

Central air conditioning makes summers cool although seldom needed in these Blue Ridge Mountains. Just past the living room is the eat-in kitchen, pretty powder room and laundry area.

For the fun of it, we’ve provided a vintage 1948 Scrabble board, a 1961 Monopoly game, a 1974 Easy Money game plus games such as chess, checkers, playing cards, Yahtzee, etc. In addition, we have a small selection of enjoyable paperback novels.

KING BEDROOM SUITE:
Your romantic upstairs bedroom suite features a magnificent tapestry over a plush Simmons king bed, sumptuous 400 count cotton sheets, butter-soft blankets & elegant comforter. Lay back in luxury while you watch your flat screen TV with a simple-to-use built-in DVD/VCR.

A handsome dresser, chest of drawers and walk-in closet offer plenty of space for your clothes. And, best of all, an amazing Human Touch Technology Massage Chair will send you to heaven! It’s our favorite ultimate pleasure. A tasteful bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub/shower and sumptuously thick cotton towels complete the master suite. Oh, don’t you love to be spoiled!

FULL KITCHEN:
If you prepare meals at home, your eat-in kitchen is thoughtfully & fully equipped with quality cookware! You have full-size appliances including refrigerator with ice/water in the door, electric flat cooktop with self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, microwave, and disposal. Enhance your meals by serving them on our festive hand-painted dinnerware, heavy glasses and quality silverware. You’ll find sharp knives, a multitude of pots, pans, bake dishes, cookie sheets, cake pans, pizza pan, muffin pans, hand mixer, toaster, blender, waffle iron, crock pot, coffee maker and even a coffee grinder for your freshly brewed coffee. You’ll find a selection of spices and a few other goodies as well.

There's also a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.

OUTSIDE:
Step out your back door onto a wonderful screened, covered porch. Relax there in privacy in an intimate two-person lounger spa hot tub and view the woods and wildlife in your back yard. Drink a morning cup of coffee in the deck chairs or venture out into the yard to enjoy the two-person swing. Wander along the woodlands path to the swing suspended from a tree by the creek. Ah, the romance of it all!

  • This was our second stay in Joy Chalet. It was wonderful. Stephanie & Robert know how to make their guests comfortable. I would recommend the chalet to anyone. It is comfort, convenience, very peaceful and southern hospitality at the highest level. I've stayed at hotels such as the Peabody in the Memphis and have actually felt more comfortable at the Joy Chalet. If it was possible I would return every few months just to experience the comfort once again! It is just like spending time at a high end spa, but for more than just a few hours or a day. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

The home was beautifuly decorated, the furnishings were extremely comfortable and the location was central to Asheville, Henderson and hiking trails in Dupont State Forest, with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We loved the fireplace, hot tub, massage chair and the small trail out back leading to a love seat by a small stream. Stephanie and Robert have done an amazing job with the Chalet, it will be a key part of our fond memories of our first few days together as husband and wife! Diyar and Chris

  • We loved the Joy Chalet. After a great day of hiking we knew that the hot tub was waiting for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the enclosed porch every morning. So relaxing!!!!! The location is so central for all the things we wanted to do. Asheville is great!!! We would suggest The Lobster Trap for a great evening meal.

  • There is no reason to stay in a hotel in the Asheville area! Stephanie and Robert have thought of everything. We stayed at the Joy Chalet for our week in North Carolina and found it met our every need. Every conceivable amenity was provided to make our stay comfortable. The location of the house is perfect for exploration in the surrounding towns. Each day was an adventure and tired as we were, it was wonderful to come back to the Chalet each night and enjoy all the comforts of home. I would highly recommend the Joy Chalet and we would definitely consider it again next time we decide to visit the Asheville area.

  • This is truly the best vacation property we have stayed in.. Stephanie and Robert have thought of everything. You will not be disappointed.. Everything was clean... we enjoyed the movie collection, the screened in porch, the new gas grill out back, the hot tub, the comfortable bed... also the little things like scissors, paper scotch tape just to name a few.. it is just like home.. if you are thinking about going to the Asheville area, this a very good location... nice quiet neighborhood of chalets... we had a wonderful week at the Joy Chalet..

The chalet was comfortable and charming;itis easy to see that Joy and Robert take a lot of pride in the home and desire to make it a "home away from home." We enjoyed all the little extras ( a well-stocked kitchen and that divine massage chair, just to mention a couple)that a lot of vacation rentals just don't have. We hope to be able to come again someday to visit!

The backporch was our favorite spot for breakfast in the morning and relaxation in the evening. We agree with comments from others about the massage chair. Pure heaven! The location of Joy Chalet was convenient to all the area's attractions. There is so much to do in Asheville and we were happy to have the two-day pass to the Biltmore which we purchased through the owners of Joy Chalet. Everything about our stay was perfect. We'd love to return to Joy Chalet!
