The house is on a waterfront location with no thro-traffic in a quiet private estate standing in an acre of landscaped garden with views over a nature reserve and salt water creek with boat access from the private dock to the Gulf and its the white sandy beaches. Six golf courses are only a few minutes away.
The cathedral ceilings give the house a light airy feeling. It is fully air conditioned with a well appointed modern kitchen. The large master bedroom with its fabulous en-suite bathroom and tray ceiling has direct access to the pool area and is placed on the opposite side of the house to the other bedrooms, thus giving peace, quiet and privacy.
All bedrooms enjoy large walk in closets and TV with DVD. A Tivoli Two HiFi radio is situated in the lounge. The fully screened and heated pool is equipped with a removable child safety fence. The garden is floodlit to allow you to enjoy a beautiful outlook during evening barbecues.
Fishing and Boating Paradise!
You can enjoy the luxury of fishing and boating from the private dock in your own back garden which gives you access to the deep sea fishing and all other boating pleasures of the Gulf within 15 minutes. The dock has a permit for motor boats with up to 10.8 inches of draft. The community boat ramp is 200 metres from the front door.
Thrill and Bargain Seekers!
For the thrill seeker Busch Gardens, Tampa is less than hour's drive away with the full selection of parks at Orlando (four Disney Parks, Sea World, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, four Water Parks, the opportunity to swim with dolphins, night clubs etc.) just one and a half hours away. The shop-aholics are also well catered for with Designer Outlet Malls less than an hour away and the designer shops at the St Armand's Circle just a 20 minutes drive.
Pilots:-
Venice Municipal Airport is less that 10 minutes away, offering rental and instruction possibilities for private pilots. The airport's central position on the Gulf Coast makes this a wonderful base to explore Florida and the Bahamas by small plane with countless airfields to visit, most of which will gladly provide a courtesy car for a couple of hours at no cost!
Biking Fans!
The Gulf Coast has a well developed network of bike paths for cycling enthusiasts. In particular you have direct access to the Legacy Trail (a converted railway line) just round the corner in Laurel Road which then takes you directly to the Oscar Scherer State Park in a few minutes by bicycle.
Golfer's Paradise!
Florida's Gulf Coast is a golfer's dream. Within the greater Sarasota area there are 44 golf courses all beautifully presented with stunning water and sand features. In the immediate Venice area there are six excellent golf courses. These can all be reached within a few minutes, with Calusa Lakes Golf Course only three minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We are hobby pilots and have flown in many parts of the world including most of the USA. When we first visited Venice we fell in love with it and decided to buy a place there.

Venice offers the perfect compromise with fabulous beaches and the relaxed living style of the Gulf Coast while still being in easy reach of the entertainment in Orlando and Tampa and everything they have to offer. Unlike some areas on the Gulf Coast there is easy access to all of your shopping needs but the house is located in its own little piece of paradise as the pictures show!

Rod and June's gorgeous house is in a fantastic location. Very close to the classic floridian attractions - beaches and shopping malls - but also very tranquil with serene views over the creek. No need to go visit wildlife parks - you can watch the wildlife from pool-side. We found there was something in the area for everyone. We enjoyed the shopping and a visit to the Busch Gardens themepark but were also amazed by the beautiful historic John Ringling Mansion and art gallery in nearby Sarasota. Plan a long trip because there is a lot to see and do - although you may find it difficult to drag yourself away from your holiday home - it's so comfortable!

The property was every bit as good as the description and photos on the web site and was very clean and comfortable. Access to local area beaches was very good and there were several good restaurants not far away particularly the Crows Nest at Venice Jetty where we also saw dolphins and manatee most evenings. We even saw a manatee swimming down the creek at the bottom of the garden! Boat hire was available from Nokomis at the boatyard on the Intra-coastal waterway. We have been to Florida 11 times and this was easily the best house we have ever rented and we will be back one day.
