Mission Bay condo description

Enjoy our newly remodelled and tastefully appointed 3 bedroom 3 bathroom waterfront home as a fun family adventure or a quiet getaway. Our home is located on the exclusive, private and peaceful Bay side, as opposed to the crowded, and noisy Oceanside of Mission Beach. From your cozy beach retreat, you will experience some of the finest panoramic views of famous Mission Bay. Our home is absolutely perfect for children. You can step out of our home and onto the fine beach sand of Mission Bay, and not have to worry about crossing a street. ‘Bay side Walk’ is right at your doorstep (One of the most scenic walking and biking trails in Southern California that curves gently around Mission Bay). If you are looking to enjoy big ocean waves and the hustle and bustle of Mission Beach, it is only a 5 minute stroll away.

NOTE - This is a newly acquired property that has been completely remodelled from top to bottom. There are currently limited reviews of the property as it is so new. We also have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom sister property in the same location that we have managed as a vacation rental for a couple of years now. Start your day relaxing inside or outside with a cup of coffee, and watch a beautiful Bay sunrise. During the day, take advantage of 19 miles of sandy beaches, 14 miles of bike paths, a network of channels, islands, coves and wildlife preserves, including so many recreational activities that you could easily spend all your time at the bay without having to think about driving your car! When the sun goes down, fire up the BBQ, and look out over the blissfully quiet beach, and the tranquil, calm water of the bay. Before you turn in, enjoy a grand view of the explosive and spectacular Sea World fireworks right from your own patio.

The master bedroom has a California king-size bed, and is fitted with fine linens. There is a 40-inch flat screen smart TV, that has the ability to access Netflix, Hulu and other on-line video streaming applications. The large en-suite bathroom has dual vanities, a large shower and a bath tub. There is a walk-in closet leading off the bathroom. You will enjoy stunning views of Mission Bay from your master bedroom.

There is a beautiful glass atrium leading off the master bedroom, which is a place where you can sit and work at a desk or relax and read a book, while looking out over the beautiful Bay.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and is fitted with fine linens. There is a 32-inch flat screen smart TV, that has the ability to access Netflix, Hulu and other on-line video streaming applications. The en-suite bathroom has a single vanity and a large shower. There is a walk-in closet leading off the bedroom.

The third bedroom has 2 twin-size beds, and is fitted with fine linens. There is a 32-inch flat screen smart TV, that has the ability to access Netflix, Hulu and other on-line video streaming applications. The en-suite bathroom has a single vanity and a large shower. There is a walk-in closet leading off the bedroom.

The living room has a full-sized sofa bed and accompanying fine linens. You can sleep in the living room with the ‘La Cantina’ folding glass door wide open, while enjoying the wonderful sights, sounds and fresh air of the Bay. There is a 50-inch flat screen smart TV, that has digital cable and the ability to access Netflix, Hulu and other on-line video streaming applications. There is also a premium home theatre surround sound system with a with a DVD player to enhance your viewing experience.

The patio offers spectacular 180-degree views of the Bay. There are 2 bistro dining tables and accompanying chairs, with a high-end large Weber gas grill.

The kitchen is fully appointed with cooking, serving and dining ware. It has granite tops and new high-end appliances including a Dacor stove top, convection oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

The dining area has a table that will seat 6 or 8 people (using the extension leaf provided). A new wet bar with granite top is attached to the dining area.

There is a separate laundry room inside the house, that has a washer, dryer, and additional sink area.

High-Speed wireless internet is provided throughout the house, and will also work on the patio and beach in front of the house.

There is double-car garage equipped with an automatic door. Note that the garage was originally built at a time when vehicles were a little smaller, so if you have 2 full-sized SUV’s, they will not both fit into the garage. However 1 full-sized SUV and a small car will fit into the garage.

                  Mission Bay is a premier location in San Diego, with 19 miles of sandy beaches, 14 miles of bike paths, a network of channels, islands, coves and wildlife preserves, and a huge number of recreational activities right on your doorstep. The panoramic views of Mission Bay are spectacular. Whether you are watching the sunrise in the morning, the sail boats that glide back and forth in front of the house throughout the day, looking out over the blissfully quiet beach and mirror-like calm waters of the bay at sunset, or watching the explosive Sea world fireworks at night. The proximity to the beach was a major factor when considering our kids. They are able to walk right out of the patio gate and onto the beach without crossing a road. When they are playing on the beach we can actually keep an eye on them from the patio, or from inside the house. We are a family who love water sports and it is extremely convenient to be able to ‘park’ a Hobie Cat, ski boat or kayak on the beach right in front of your home. We were looking for a home in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, and Mission Bay is one of the only beach communities in Southern California that offers this. If we want to spend time on the more lively and noisy board walk and Mission Beach, it is only 2 small blocks away. Parking at any beach city in Southern California can be problematic. As a result, we wanted the ability to be able to park our car at the Beach House, and not have to drive anywhere. Our location puts us within walking, biking or skateboarding distance of any number of restaurants, shops and recreational activities that we might need.

                  Year Purchased: 2013

                  About the owner: I am a partner at a global management consulting firm and actually live in San Diego, with my wife, and 2 young children. The 'Beach House', as we like to call it, was purchased as a second home for our personal use. It is our home away from home and we have furnished and appointed it as a place that we are very comfortable using. We outfitted the house in such a way that we can get in the car and go without having to think about packing anything besides our clothes. We love the fact that the Beach House is only 20 minutes away from our primary home, and try to use it ourselves as often as possible. With the competing priorities associated with young children there are times when we cannot use it, and therefore look to rent it out. My wife is really the person who manages the property, and insists on doing all the cleaning herself, as she has not found a cleaning company who measures up to her high standards! We feel very fortunate to be able to have a second home in this wonderful place that has so much to offer, in a neighbourhood of people who are always friendly, welcoming, and happy. I guess waking up every morning with a beach on your doorstep will do that to you!
