Built right on the beach, this is a brand new, contemporary beachfront home. You are right on the ocean here, but for those that prefer a swimming pool, there is a gorgeous pool with corner seating plus a fifty foot lap lane.
There is outdoor living space in this property on all three levels. Plenty of space around the pool and hot tub, both sun and shaded areas, with casual seating. There are BBQs on both the ground/pool level and second floor deck.
The first floor has two oversized bedrooms with Queen beds. There is a large bathroom off the main hallway. The main floor enjoys 10 foot ceilings, which keeps the place cool and airy. A floating staircase with stainless steel railings takes you to the next level.
The second floor has a massive balcony with lounge and dining areas and a barbecue. This gives sweeping views of the Caribbean sea with the cayes in the distance. The kitchen is on this floor - custom designed and built with local mahogany hardwood and upscale appliances. The open plan kitchen with island lead onto the living and dining areas plus a 2pcs bathroom. The master bedroom with balcony and bathroom with double vanity are also on this level. All with ceilings up to 14ft high.
Finally, there is a spiral staircase that goes to a rooftop deck with palapa - the perfect place to catch the sunset over the Mayan mountains to the west or do some star-gazing.
There is an on-site custodian in an independent on-site apartment who takes care of the property and landscaping.
Four bicycles are included in the rental.

A New Dawn Beach House is located at mile 13.5 of the Placencia peninsula, 700 meters south of the Placencia Hotel and Residences, 10 miles north of the village of Placencia and two miles north of the nearest grocery store, small resorts, and several local restaurants and bars in Maya Beach. It is a 20 minute drive south to the village of Placencia.

About: I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I graduated York University and spent my first life in the Insurance Industry, finally selling my Markham based Brokerage in 2007. I have 3 children and 1 grandchild living in southern Ontario. After 'retiring' from Insurance I spent a couple years skiing then wanderlust took hold and I adventured south to carve out the next life. In 2011- 2012 I returned to Canada to collect my sailboat and embarked on a 'bucket list' dream of single-handing a small sailboat from Canada to Belize arriving in February, I've then been busy on completion of this beach house ever since. It's been a work in progress but finally is ready to share.
Melissa arrived here in Belize in a much different manner than I did. An Accountant and native of London, England, she changed direction 20 years ago to pursue her love of the ocean. As a Divemaster Instructor, she has lived around the world applying her trade, leading and teaching others to dive. She came to Belize to run a charter boat base for an international sailing company, fell in love with Placencia and put down roots, also building a house here on the peninsula. Together we rent out both homes and have started plans on a 3rd house next year. We are commited long term to this peninsula.
Why Maya Beach: I made a decision some years back that I had done enough snow skiing and shovelling and wanted to spend my life in perpetual summer. A 'water' person my whole life, I went looking for an upscale neighbourhood in an English speaking country, surrounded by water. I headed for Belize and exhausted the options available north to south. finally discovered this beachfront opposite the Placencia Residences, part of the Placencia Hotel development. It is simply the best neighborhood I could find and after 5 years and extensive exploring of the surrounding country, my opinion hasn't changed.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The rooftop deck offers ocean views to the east and lagoon and mountain views to the west. Town water comes from an aquifer at the base of the Mayan mountains that can be drunk straight from the tap (there's also a filter on the refrigerator). The beach here enjoys a south-east exposure so doesn't get 'hammered' by the prevailing north-east tradewinds as does much of the peninsula but still enjoys a 'toned down' breeze and surf day and night that comfortably cools without blowing the BBQ out. All bedrooms are equipped with high efficiency air conditioners, unnecessary for us acclimatized to the tropics but a necessity for thicker blood escaping the snow for a week or two. Upscale restaurants are all on the beach and within a few miles (Maya Beach Bistro, The Bonefish at Singing Sands, Belize Ocean Club) make life very comfortable. Mangos, a more kick back beach bar and restaurant, also in the heart of Maya Beach, is less than 2 miles from the beach house and you can join in some beach volleyball every Thursday and Saturday at sunset. Maya Beach even has a bowling alley. All a short drive from the sanctuary of the beach house.
The village of Placencia with it's world famous 'sidewalk' is a 20 minute drive to the south and offers some great souvenir shopping in addition to it's own collection of restaurants and bars.
We have access to private chefs who will come and cook for you should you wish extra pampering.
As local residents these past 5 years, Mel and I can direct you and tailor for you the best of what you're looking for in a vacation here. We've been on most of the tours available and know the best guides to deliver those tours. Most will pick you up and drop you off at the beach house.
