  This home is lovely and was so close to a great beach. The two things that kept this from being excellent for us was the lack of a BBQ and the lani needed to be updated.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  This was a great getaway for the girls of my family. We had such a great time on the beach and relaxing around the property. The upstairs lanai was great to eat lunch and look out at the water. The house had everything we needed and had a wonderful outdoor shower (with hot water!). The beds were great. The bedrooms all had at lease a king or a queen size bed in them. Which was just perfect for our group. We loved that there was an extensive property around the house as it gave us a bit more peace than other properties that we have stayed at in Kailua. Thanks to the owners for the great vacation and a chance to catch up with my family!

  We lucked out on this trip! The weather was perfect. The beach was that of post cards. The house was wonderful. We have been to Kailua before and always enjoyed our time but this trip was the best by far. We have heard of problems with rentals not being licensed and having issues with the neighbors so we thought we would play it safe and look for one that had a license and only found a few. We choose this property due to the location on the Bay and the privacy that it looked like it offered along with the vacation rental license that it has. We were pleasantly suppressed. The property was expansive and the house was nicely redone. Most of the furnishings seemed to be new and the house itself had been remolded but still kept the historical charm. It had so much to offer. Hot out door shower, wifi, satellite tv, a great lanai to take in the ocean and another covered lanai to lounge around under some shade. What a great value. We will be staying here again.

  This was our first trip to Hawaii. Through our research we found Kailua. It turned out to be the perfect place for our family. The beaches were amazing and still close to the attractions of Honolulu and Waikiki. The property and house were ideal for our group. It was much more private than we expected and the view of the water from the upstairs lanai was just great for our older parents. The kids loved being so close to the beach and had a great time playing in the yard. The house had everything we needed. We just hope that we can make it back soon. Thanks for the great stay!

  We recently stayed at the "Best Beach Hawaii Vacation Rental" and LOVED it !!! The Beach, which is about 30 yards from the property, is truly fantastic, perhaps the best in the world and we travel A LOT. The house is a perfect home away from home with a GREAT huge yard. Kailua town is SO charming it is easy to see why people say this is the best kept secret in Hawaii. We saw several celebrities who we are told vacation here regularly.... We highly recommend this home....

  The property is in a great location, a minute’s walk to the ocean and very convenient to the town of Kailua and the Pali highway. It was also very clean. However, the property is quite worn in some areas: the bathroom fixtures in the upstairs bath all had significant corrosion on them; there was also water damage on the wall in the upstairs bathroom; the kitchen cabinets are worn and a couple do not close properly; the towel bar in the downstairs bath is torn from the wall; the windowsill in the master bath is missing about half its paint; the outdoor deck has a number of nail heads that extend above the decking (so no bare feet). Some of the furniture is adapted to its use: for example, in the master bedroom a water damaged plant stand functions as a bedside table (not well as it is quite small and tall). I saw a couple of comments about the dishwasher: the issue is that though the supply lines are installed correctly, it is not seated properly in the space, so it moves a good bit.

  This is a VERY old home and everything about it is old - dishes, fixtures, deck, furnishings. However, the beds are clean and comfortable, and access to the beach can't be beat. You share a driveway with the main house - which is a heritage home - so the first time you arrive it is a bit confusing. We also had constant wind, but the location is such that it is an easy drive to attractions. The outdoor funiture and barbeque were in poor condition, also the TV did not work. The yard is beautiful, and the outdoor shower is handy.

  We highly recommend this Beautiful home to everyone. Nicely remodeled, nicely furnished. Very comfortable and just steps from the most beautiful beach we have ever seen !!!. Our kids had the best time in their life swimming, playing in the soft sand and gentle waves. What a GREAT place What a wonderful Vacation !!!
