We stayed in K-404 for one week (wished it was longer) with friends who were first time visitors to Maui. Since I was in charge of making arrangements, i diligently read the descriptions and reviews on this unit. Everything about this unit exceeded our expectations. Carol, the owner even called on the second day to make sure we were satisfied. Needless to say that we were impressed with the unit, and Carol for going the extra mile. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Papakea K404. The unit was immaculately clean, updated and very well stocked. If anything it is bigger than it looks in the photos. The view is spectacular and the grounds are pleasant and very well kept. Despite the fact that we were there during March break, it wasn't too crowded and there were lots of chaises and even barbecues available. Parking is limited and the WiFi is very slow during peak times. There are some negative stories about property rental experiences in this complex but Carol handles K404 herself and gives great customer service. Highly recommend it.

Just perfect, everything and more that was described, The property was spotless and we did not even have to purchase coffee filters. they were there already, everything that you would need which is a huge bonus when traveling I would recommend Carol and Mikes Condo to anyone who is concidering Maui as a vacation spot

I would like to thank Carol for sharing her home with us, it is a beautiful place. The condo had everything we needed on our vacation. Very nicely decorated and the view was breath taking. The pool area was fantastic, we grilled out and ate around the pool with our family and played shuffle board as the sun set one evening. Perfect! The view of the ocean will forever stay in my mind! We walked the beach everyday (one of my favorite things) and listened to the surf as we fell asleep every night. The location was close by all of the activities that we booked, snorkeling, zipline, golf, parasailing. My kids loved Whalers Village which was very close by. There was a nearby grocery store and many options for eating out. Carol was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions via email very promptly. I have already told several people about this place and we hope to return again soon. Mahalo!!

Probably our best vacation ever. We stayed 12/18 - 12/30 and had beautiful weather every day that was enhanced by daily appearances of Humpback whales, Sea Turtles and one day we even had a parade of Spinner Dolphins - all visible from the lawn at Papakea! Our family of six was quite comfortable in K404 throughout our stay and Carol made the whole reservation process painless. We hated to leave and can't wait to come back!

I would like to let everyone know what a wonderful place this is to stay.Carol and Mike have thought of everything that you will ever need on a vacation.The Condo was perfect, very clean, updated and extremely well stocked. There is a beautiful view of the pool and water and there is nothing better than breakfast on the deck with the waves breaking in the back ground. I have been to Maui and stayed in private condos at least six other times and this is by far the best.We will be planning our next trip back very shortly.If you want a nice relaxing vacation that is close to everything this is the place to be. Our only complaint was we should have stayed four weeks instead of two!

I want to thank you for providing such an excellent place to stay during our first trip to Maui. From our first conversation with you until we closed the door to leave the condo, everything more than met our expectations. We enjoyed sunrise at Haleakala as well as snorkeling, hiking surfing, whale watching, shopping and just being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean and waking to the songs of birds. This condo was an excellent place to stay during our first trip to Maui. Our family of 6 (w/ four adult children) were very comfortable and the condo's floor plan offers enough space for gathering together as well as areas to escape for some privacy. From our first conversations with the owners until we closed the door to leave for home, everything more than met our expectations. The Papakea resort location is right on Kaanapali beach and is close to shopping, golfing, restaurants, and sightseeing. The Maui bus stop is at the resort next door and with a little planning, one can travel nearly anywhere via the bus. The resort offers free yoga and swim-fitness classes as well as a host of other activities on their beautifully landscaped grounds. The immaculate condo has a beautiful and well-equipped kitchen, cable tv in nearly every room, dvd movies and games, and comfortable furniture (including the beds). The owners have compiled a notebook of "everything Maui" and have available a guest book for guests to sign. We so much appreciated reading the tips from everyone. I think our favorites in Maui were the morning sunrise at Haleakala (complete with ice and a few patches of snow to remind us of MN), touring the historic sights, the circle of Aloha during Sunday morning service at Lahaina Methodist church, snorkeling (we loved Snorkel Bob's for equipment) at Big Beach and Black Rock, hiking in Iao Valley State Park, surfing with Maui Wave Riders, whale watching with the Pacific Whale Foundation, the Old Lahaina Luau, shopping in Lahaina, walking on the beach boardwalk, and just being lulled to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and waking to the songs of the birds. Being a master gardener in Minnesota, I loved noticing the flowers, trees, and shrubs and wished I had studied up a bit on my Hawaii horticulture before our visit. There were several things we didn't have time to see so I think I need to start planning our next visit! This is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here and shared this unit with our daughter, son-in-law & year old grandson. We just couldn't have been happier with this unit. We've stayed in many units at Papakea & this was our favorite. We loved the view overlooking the pool, grounds, the ocean & Molokai. The unit itself was perfect - - - clean, well-maintained & had every extra you could ask for, including beach chairs, umbrellas etc etc. We would highly recommend it. Our favorite restaurants are The Plantation House (get there for the sunset) & find Hali'imaile is worth driving over to Kahului for. We also love going to The Gazebo up at Napili Shores for their breakfasts. Hula Grill at the Whaler's is great for lunch! One of our favorite things to do is to take the ferry over to Lanai for the day & either play golf or just go for lunch & spend the day between the two resorts. Our anniversary just couldn't have been more special & much of that was thanks to staying in this beautiful unit. Dennis and Wendy

Best family vacation ever!

Not only is the view exactly like the picture the condo was very comfortable for our family of 6. Played alot of shuffleboard, sat by the beach and read, swam alot and cooked terrific dinners on the grills. Once you enter the complex you are in a different world! 3 suggestions for those of you going to Maui- 1) Join A3H. Just google A3H or Hawaii Fun. Cost is $30 and the savings are spectacular. 2) Try Maui Car Rentals.Cars are not beautiful but we got 2 convertibles for less than the cost of a van at any car rental. 3) Have dinner on the way back from Hana or Haleakala in Pa'ia at Jacques North Shore. Awesome food and sushi and on par with Mama's Fish House- minus the view and $$$. North Carolina

The view from your balcony was spectacular. the sea was warm the weather was wonderful, and to sit on the sea wall at dawn and watch the humpbacks swim by was well just out of this world. We took your advise and booked the pacific whale watching trip from lahaina,and also the luau and both were wonderful, we also went snorkelling on the reef the only problem was when the sea turtles came up to pay us a visit, I followed them back down and forgot i had a snorkel on and at about twenty feet down i decided to breath in, bad idea mind you the Pacific wasn't as salty as i thought it would be. Any way thanks for letting us rent your condo and yes we will be coming back, I don't know when but we are coming back Thanks again

I just cannot say enough about your place, it was just perfect and had everything we needed and more, were even thrilled to find the coolers we could use on a couple outings. We had a great week in HI. I had originally wanted a true oceanfront unit, but then was glad I had just the view I had. In your place I could see everything - the pool area to see the barbecues or when my husband had the kids at the pool, etc., and then the beach still right in my face the whole time. I had seen bad reviews on this place, but could tell those were attributable to individual units, making me even more glad I had gone through an owner to assure a positive experience. The rest of the property is just lovely and beautiful, quiet and laid back. Thanks again, and we hope to return!

Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with our family. Your condo is beautiful and had everything we needed. We loved the view from the lanai and the sound of the ocean from the master bedroom. Our grandson loved the beach and tidepools and the rest of us were happy to sit at the seawall and watch him play in the sand. We snorkeled almost every day from the beach next-door. We truly hope to return.

Maui was a dream vacation for our family. The beauty and awe of the road to Hana, our anniversary dinner at Mama's Fish House near Pa'ia, the Bamboo Forest, Haleakala at sunrise, the Old Lahaina Luau, snorkeling the coral reefs, and diving Molokini were a few of our unforgettable experiences in Maui. Each day we had your lovely and inviting home to come back to for rest and relaxation. We were "rocked to sleep" each night by the cool ocean breeze and the gentle sounds of the surf . We had a wonderful week here staying in your condo. It has such a fantastic view of the ocean as well as the Papakea grounds. My teenage son loved the loft and our girls loved the front bedroom, but my husband and I REALLY loved our room with its beautiful ocean view. We had Thanksgiving dinner here and thanked God for finding your lovely place. It was a perfect vacation - one to be long cherished.

Thank you for sharing your condo with us over Spring break. We just returned from Maui and had a very relaxing time. The weather wasn't as nice as we were hoping for but your condo was great and helped make for a great trip. It gave us more room than a suite at the hotel and allowed us to have some of our meals "at home" which we like to do since we have young kids. I don't know when we'll be heading back to Hawaii, but when we do we'll certainly be in touch.

Thanks for making us feel so comfortable in your second home. We enjoyed the spacious accommodations, the view and the lovely breezes that blow through the condo. We also loved the BBQ area. Just got back from Maui yesterday - My family THOROUGHLY enjoyed your wonderful condo at Papakea. The views were magnificent, amenities and activities were greatly enjoyed by my teenagers, and the condo was all that we could ask for. Comfortable beds, lovely linens,well-stocked kitchen so that we could really cook, etc. Thanks so much for the nice touches like providing dishwashing detergent,sponges, paper towels, washing machine detergent, etc. Your maintenance keeper was very responsive as well.

We have arrived home (reluctantly). We had a wonderful time and the condo really worked out well for us. It took the weather a day and a half to clear but then it was classic Maui weather...perfect. The loft was a nice space for the kids to play games or watch a little TV before bed (and allowed us to have a quiet drink). You have a beautiful view and the kids enjoyed the pool at Papakea and the beach next door. We really appreciated having the grills so accessible.
