Our log cottage sits on a 15' high Point over-looking beautiful Alexander Lake affording 180 degree PANORAMIC WATER VIEWS.
Cathedral ceilings in both the living room and the kitchen, each with its own magnificent native stone fireplace, add to the beauty of this serene lakefront getaway.
In Winter indulge yourself by sipping a hot cocoa in front of the cozy fireplace reading a great book, or wander down a country lane on a frosty morning. In Summer enjoy swimming, boating and fishing right from your own private dock where you have sun the entire afternoon until sunset. In Autumn view the spectacular Fall foliage right from your kitchen as you gaze across the lake at the beautiful changing of the leaves, or take a scenic drive on one of New England's country roads. Year Round enjoy spectacular sunsets.
The cottage has been completely redecorated. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a full-size bed, plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The "QUIET CORNER" is considered by many to be New Englands Antiquing Capital. We are 40 minutes to Providence, 45 minutes to Hartford, and 55 minutes to Boston. Mohegan Sun and Foxwood Casinos are 30 minutes away.

Wonderful Week at Sunset Point

I just loved the week we spent recently at Sunset Point. The cottage was so comfortable and cozy with the big stone fireplace. The wall-to-wall windows in the kitchen and living room afford a panoramic view of the lake. What was most enjoyable was sitting on the deck with my book overlooking the beautiful lake with the sun shining and slight wind rustling through the many beautiful trees. I was content to do this for several hours at a time. The sunsets were magnificent! We enjoyed the New England countryside while driving to the nearby restaurants for good clam chowder and fish. It was fun going for home-made ice cream and waffle cones at We-Li-Kit. Supermarkets and shopping were close by. After dinner we enjoyed playing Scrabble and didn't turn on the TV all week. It was a wonderful relaxing week, and we look forward to returning to Sunset Point.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well appointed cottage. We needed a place to celebrate the holiday and somewhere for our out of town adult daughters to stay. The open concept made entertaining easy and comfortable. The furnishings were excellent. The fireplace feature was great. Everyone just loved it. We would rent this propery again in a heartbeat! We all enjoyed the ducks and geese on the lake. The sunset was quite beautiful. The kids said it was the best ever Christmas and we agree. Jane was very easy to work with.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Nice cottage with great deck and dock. The lake is very quiet and water is great for swimming. Teenagers were "busy" just sitting on the dock, reading books, swimming and boating...but the mall is just a 2 mile bike ride away so they could get away from the parents (and we could have some quiet time!). If you are a cyclist, the area around Dayville, Danielson, Brooklyn, Pomfret is some of the best cycling in New England...some good hills, but not killers, absolutely gorgeous small towns and farms and views. Everyone should try the Golden Lamb Buttery (on rte 109, Brooklyn) for absolutely fantasitc food and views. The only downside to the cottage is the noise from the road and the railroad across the street, but compared to the city....it's peaceful!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

This is a lovely spot. The house is located right on the water, with an upper deck for enjoying the beautiful panorama and a lower dock for boating and swimming. The house is charming and comfortable with a great kitchen and living room and a hearth in the center. It is a great location for enjoying the day on the lake (swimming, kayaking, sailing) and convenient for taking a day trips. (We went to Boston one day and to Block Island another.) We enjoyed our stay during the summer, and I imagine it would be just as lovely in the fall.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My family loved our weekend at this cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. There was plenty of room for everyone and we spent a lot of time sitting on the deck admiring the view. The boats were great during the day and the DVD player was great for the evenings. Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Just got back from a week at this charming cottage. Everything exactly as advertised and more. Lake is absolutely beautiful with crystal clear water and gradual sloping shore. View from the cottage deck is gorgeous, especially at sunset. We spent many restful hours sitting on the deck enjoying the lake view, breeze and each other's company. Kids swam, paddled, pedaled and fed the ducks. Many nearby restaurants and lounges of all types. (The kitchen is fully equipped, but we didn't cook a thing!) Good variety of shopping nearby as well. We bought a bunch of craft kits at the nearby Michaels and spent some delightful hours on the deck with glue and glitter. Fun! I would definitely recommend Sunset Point cottage.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We just came back from 5 days at the lake house and had a wonderful relaxing time in a beautiful cozy well appointed home. The moment you walk in the main room and see the 3 walls of windows with unobstructed views of the lake you know this house is special. We spent our days swimming in the lake, going out on one of 3 boats the house provides, reading on the comfy couches and sitting on the deck staring at the sunsets every night. We cooked on the grill and never felt the need to leave the oasis. We brought our 8mth old and his grandma as well and all hated to leave and hope to make it a yearly tradition. Judy was a pleasure to deal with and you can tell they thought of everything when putting the house together. We highly recommend it!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I recently spent a week here, and it was wonderful. The cabin is exactly as pictured and fully equipped. Perhaps the best part is the location. The site on the lake is gorgeous, quiet and peaceful. But even though you feel like you're "away from it all," there's good shopping nearby (Stop and Shop supermarket and Target) and lots of great day trips--Old Sturbridge Village, casinos, Newport & Providence RI. Jane, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely recommend this cabin!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I just spend a week in your really cozy cottage with my friends. We absolutely loved it. The views of the lake, the foliage were beautiful. The cottage is really well equipped. Everything there you need for a comfy stay. Jane and her family were very kind and answered all our questions. Great to be there in autumn. Hope to return another year in the summertime :o). Thanks for this special experience. BirgitRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

One for the books! Plenty of good fishinf, kayaking, canoeing, swimming in and on the most pristine lake in Connecticut. I just finished (sadly) a week in the most lovely cottage you can imagine with it's french countryside flair combined with a lakeside New England charm. The view is spectacular from the large wrap-around porch or dining at the table through the unobstructed windows. Definitely a place I will go back to next year and the year after that if I can. Owner more than willing to answer questions and do whatever it takes to make you comfortable. Convenietcnt to everything, shopping, antiquing, movies, etc.AbsoRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
