We were a large group, 4 couples. This trip has been wonderful and much-needed. We thought we saw a bobcat which was exciting for the children, but it wasn't. It was a cute kitty! The place was very cozy, especially with the fire and hot tub! We hope to come back again to this special place!

Dear Herr Family... Our family to yours extend much thanks for the homey accommodations of The Lodge. We, like the guests before us, found solitude in Idyllwild while forming memorable moments with our loved ones- this occasion being our Pop's 75th Birthday! They say, home is where the heart is and we were able to enjoy that part within the beauty and comfort of this place. Being ' city dwellers' we even marveled at the squirrels (larger than in the city) and wood peckers and amazing blue jays (or at least we think) were entertaining to watch! We thank you for offering us this special place.

"Satanic forces are at work here..." I hope you guys watch Gilmore Girls... quite reference from the episode where Lorelei and Rory go to a B&B... Anyway, we just arrived and we love your Corner Lodge. It's beautiful. Kids are having a blast in the backyard. We love the town, everyone has been lovely. Denney, We loved your place. It was beautiful. The weather was awesome. The kids loved the backyard. We relaxed at the house the first afternoon/evening. Went into town to get some groceries, made dinner, sat in the spa, read by the fire. Everyone in town was very friendly. The next day we had breakfast, played some games (mahjong) and then went for a hike. Ended up at Humber Park and hiked a little of Ernie Maxwell. Got back to the house and relaxed some more (much needed). Had dinner and watched some movies. We are headed home now. Stopped by Hurkey Creek so the kids could play and have some lunch. We came up with our dear friends, the Giestings, who have two children as well. The kids really had a great time! Thank you for sharing your Idyllwild getaway. We will be sure to come back! We enjoyed reading about Kiva (especially my friend Susie, she just lost her dog, Howie, and got a little emotional reading your story). Trevi's spring break letter was cutie too.

Wow! What a beautiful home, with a beautiful setting! This weekend was especially for the kids. Thank you so much for being child friendly. My 1 1/2 year old granddaughter enjoyed the bucket of toys and my 9 year old daughter and older daughter enjoyed the spa and game room. You guys have done a perfect job in making sure your guests have everything they need. We went to earth, wind and fire and enjoyed making our own pottery. We have been coming to Idyllwild for 5 years now and you can never see or do enough. Thank you so much for opening up your home to us Mrs. Herr. We love your black lab, it reminds us of out two labs. Trevi, we love your spring break letter.

Well... it took us a little over a year to make it back (last stayed Aug. 2008) and it sure was worth the wait. Rich and I enjoyed celebrating our 10 year anniversary here. It was a romantic, fun, exciting stay. There was a sprinkle of snow, unexpected and a great surprise. We appreciate all the hard work and effort it takes to make sure your home is our "home away from home." I'm sure we will be back!

We are 4 couples from Orange County that decided to get away for the weekend. Your house is beautiful and the floor plan is perfect for us. We had a bit of snow to play in and enjoyed the quaint town and crisp clean air. Our experience with renting your cabin will be one we al remember for years and will hopefully be back again.

This house is just wonderful. When we first arrived, we couldn't believe how nice it was. We had a great Christmas together as a family and we made many memories. Looking forward to returning for Christmas next year.

Hello Denney; What a wonderful surprise we had waking up on Saturday morning....It was like dream come true. We have some great pictures...will have Andrew send you some of his...as he takes great pictures..I have a few on my camera I shall put in a disk for you.. Wanted you to know we left rather quickly on Sunday...as it started to snow again..and we were a bit concerned if the roads would be slippery coming down off the hill.. I did not run the dishwasher..as I never like to leave an appliance on when no one is in the house.. Normally I would have left them clean. The children used the spa once on Saturday eve...and they loved it... How often can you sit in a spa when it is snowing??? We were so happy to have the sleds to play with......kids had a ball....they were on the roads before the plows came..so had some good quality time in the fresh snow. Snow as absolutely perfect for snow balls... The shovels in the garage came in handy too... I love all your re decorating...everything looked great....All your comforters and towels looked lovely... We bought a new oven thermometer...left it in the oven.. it does come in handy...Like mine at home...the ovens are not always accurate.. Needless to say...............may we once again reserve your lovely home for next Thanksgiving... We come on Wednesday (before thanksgiving) and leave on Sunday..looking ahead...I think its November 24,25,26,27 in 2010.. Hope your Thanksgiving was good too. Rose .

This is our 5th year at The Corner Lodge. It gets better every year..if that is possible. Thanksgiving here is our favorite family tradition! We love your home - the open spaces, game room, spa, kitchen, large living room and awesome fireplaces...it's all so friendly. This year it was really special. Woke up Saturday morning to gentle snow...that had covered the ground and trees. We had snow ball fights and went sledding. It was BEAUTIFUL! The last time it had snowed at Thanksgiving was back in 2004. Thank you once again. We shall be back next Thanksgiving. We love it here!

To The Herr Family, This our first visit to The Corner Lodge (wish we had discovered your home several years ago) and we are enjoying it immensely! Our grandson graduated this weekend from IAA and this has turned into a mini family reunion - Colorado, Alaska and CA. Hi Denny and Family, We just got back from four days at the Corner Lodge. We can't begin to tell you how much we all really enjoyed our stay. Your home is beautiful and just perfect for "our gang" Every room was so inviting and warm. We enjoyed the entire home from eating and playing games around the dining room table, watching movies and just talking in the living room. We enjoyed shooting pool, relaxing in the spa, wonderful walks around the neighborhood, shopping in town and listening to music at Joanne's. Everyone said that their bedrooms were great. We loved the master suit. Just perfect for Jim and me. We have been going to Idyllwild for close to 20 years but we must say that your home made it the best trip we have had. We all look forward to more times at your home but we agreed at the end of our trip that we want to make it a week long trip. Four days just didn't seem enough for all of us. Thanks for much for sharing your home. We had such a great time. Your call to us the first day was a delightful surprise. We have been coming to Idyllwild for many years. We would have to rent two homes to fit our friends, but your home was a perfect fit for all of us. We were all so comfortable sharing time together in the family living room, playing a game of pool, card games and great meals at the kitchen table. Our four days went by too quickly! Hi Denny, Your home was absolutely perfect for us! We would like to come back next year and perhaps make this an annual event Your home was uplifting for all of us. The children loved the swing set and played on it for an hour at a time. We also caught ladybugs in the vinca. (We watered it and some of the small trees, bushes, and lilacs.) We also had fun playing pool and in the spa. I reported to the property management that one of the little ones swallowed a big gulp of spa water and then threw up. We got as much out as possible. The cleaning service will be draining and cleaning the spa. I am so sorry. My son-in law also broke a clear glass pyrex bowl which we will pay for, also. I'm sorry we missed your call. The gorgeous flowers you sent me were such a delightful surprise. Thank you so much for brightening my weekend. The girls and I think that you must be a wonderful lady and we were honored to have stayed in your home-away from home. How should I contact you about making arrangements for next year? Hello Herrs... From the moment I walked into your mountain home, with my arms filled with fresh cut Daffodils to brighten up this Corner Lodge, (where all my family was coming to spend Easter) and to my delight, I discovered that The Corner Lodge was a beautifully decorated lovely home that didn't need the fresh cut flowers to brighten it's corners. I took a poll and discovered these are some of the BESTEST things we liked about our visit. Andy...Son in law: The hospitality and friendliness of the merchants of Idyllwild. All of us: Loved the beds and bedding and the feeling like you were in a bird's nest in the trees. Krisse...my daughter: Loved that it snowed and Rylee got to experience the magic of watching it fall, making snow angels and a snowman and sliding down the slide and swinging on the tire swing. Rob and Donna: Enjoyed the jacuzzi and looking at the snowman and the stars that twinkled bright. Georgia and Art...Aunt and Uncle: Loved the magic of being with family in the snow and watching Rylee's first snow experience. Debbie...Gram Bee: Loved the whole weekend with my wonderful family and the magic of The Corner Lodge! Thank You from us all...

The property description only begins to tell just how nice this place can be for a family. Look at the pictures and then imagine grandpa reading in front of a roaring fire in that beautiful stone fireplace, son and his wife watching TV in the den, and grandchildren playing pool in the game room. You could drive hundreds of miles or fly thousands of miles and not reach mountains more beautiful or rugged than those surrounding Idyllwild.

Only 2 hours from San Diego, grandma's and grandpa's can spend quality time with their grandchildren in a family friendly vacation rental that lends itself very well to family holidays, reunions and get togethers.

There were 6 of us getting together for a weekend of catching up on girls stuff. Among the fun was horseback riding and lots of laughs. Dinner at Cafe Aroma's was wonderful and hanging out in the yard watching the birds in the trees were only a few of the things that will bring us back to The Corner Lodge. It was a great weekend! Thanks to the owners for a special place.

I have been staying at The Corner Lodge every year for the past 6 years. I can always expect the same clean and in perfect order accomodations. Also, once you stay at The Corner Lodge, you are family and the owners make you feel so welcome. The Corner Lodge is truly our mountain home away from home!

We have enjoyed many weekends at the corner lodge and the accomodations and setting are prestine. There is a sense of instant calm when you arrive. The pines that embrace and surround the property are gorgeous. Hiking directly from the house or within a short drive to nearby mountain trails is one of my favorite parts. I highly recommend this vacation home! Being a family member of the owners, I can testify that this home is extremely well taken care of offers an experience you will want to return to.

...I just wanted to say a quick Thank You for this weekend. My dad's birthday turned out amazing! The Lodge was perfect. Our entire family felt at home and was able to spend quality time together while getting away from our busy lives. Your hospitality and graciousness was truly appreciated! We were very impressed with your home and wonder why you are not here all the time. Very warm feeling and sure could relax. I always feel quality when we go away, and our kid, Kelly...a black labrador mix, 17 months old, goes to the kennel. It was great to have a black lab picture everywhere we turned and to know there are other people as nutty about their dog. Havent't met you, but know you are good folks. Dear Herr Family, What a beautiful home you have. We are here for our 2nd year. We bring our sone to the school of arts. Although he did fracture his foot on the 2nd day here.
