The best beachfront value on the East Coast! This Pelican Point Villa is perfect for a quiet get-away or a family gathering on the beach. The four-bedroom, three-bath, 2000 sf house sleeps ten in Two Kings, One Queen, Two Twins, and a pull-out Queen Sofa. Fully appointed kitchen, washer and dryer, parking underneath house, fireplace, and outdoor shower. The gourmet kitchen was completely renovated in 2008 and comes equipped with everything you'll need.

This home comes complete with high chair and pack-n-play, beach chairs, toys, all linens, three TVs with VCRs, a stereo, and free wireless internet. Each rental includes one vehicle pass and full use of the Beach and Racquet Club (an Olympic-size pool, kiddie pool, fitness center, tennis courts, playground, sand volleyball, and basketball).

Pelican Point is just one row wide, so the screened porch faces the ocean for gorgeous sunrises and the open porch faces the marsh for colorful sunsets. Just outside the front door is a boardwalk that leads to a private, uncrowded beach stretching for two and a half miles. Harbor Island is next door to Hunting Island State Park and within a short drive of historic Beaufort and Parris Island. Charleston and Savannah are close enough for day trips.

Terrific Coastal Vacation Home in Great Surroundings

25A Pelican Point is an address and a house we won't forget any time soon. On October 8, 2011, we were married in this delightful beach front duplex on Harbor Island. Although it’s a condo, the well planned space, situated at one end of a row, feels more like a free-standing house. At 2,000 square feet, there is plenty of room for a large gathering if you want to entertain, but it’s intimate enough for just kicking back. You will immediately notice that instead of the usual beach tchotchkes festooning the walls and surface areas, you’re treated to really nice art and a veritable festival of maps. There is an elegant flow from the gourmet kitchen on the land side, through the living room, on out to a screened porch facing St. Helena Sound, and down a short set of stairs to a lovely raised deck. Below the deck is a direct entrance to the boardwalk out to the beach. In the blink of an eye you are on the wide, clean beach. Kids and dogs will be as happy here as we were! The three-mile long beach, and the adjacent Hunting Island, across Johnson Creek, afford outstanding birding opportunities. Speaking of youngsters and dogs: there’s all kinds of kid and canine equipment available in the storeroom. A Russian proverb describes the ultimate host: "If you are a host to your guest, be a host to his dog also". The owners do just that, and so much more! They see each guest at Pelican Point as a guest in their own home. You will be welcomed as a new friend, and you will want for nothing. Ask them to show off the island; then hop aboard their golf cart and enjoy the ride. The owners are deeply involved in the protection and preservation of Harbor Island and its diverse wildlife, not least the Harbor Island Turtle Project, which they initiated and directed, and which is making a difference in the battle for the survival of the area's loggerheads. We only regret that we’ll have to wait until next year to return.

One correction, the Harbor Island Turtle Project is permitted under the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and has been in place for decades. I am only a volunteer who holds this permit as the project coordinator on the island.

AMAZING PET FRIENDLY VACATION HOME & LOCATION!

My opinion, the only reason there aren't more reviews on this beachfront home is because its renters want to make it the best kept secret on the East Coast. This rustic 2000 sf home is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space, furnishings you'd find in your home and completely stocked with everything you'd need or want from detergent to washer/dryer to Scrabble so just bring your clothes! However, don't forget to stop by Publix in Beaufort on your way in, you won't want to leave once you get to the house. There's even a doggie closet with bowls, mats, towels, toys etc. The views from the front [oceanside] and back [marshside] porches are amazing. The beach in front of the house was wide and our 3 dogs had the best time of their lives chasing birds, swimming, digging, running, and playing with sticks. The wonderful people who own the house are just down the street & are extremely responsive to any questions we had. We will most certainly return soon and often but this time we want to share this fabulous experience with family and friends!!

Our family of 5 (and 1 Dalmatian) and our friends' family (4) stayed in this home several years ago. It was the best vacation we ever had. The home was clean and beautiful with a beautiful view. We loved the beach (not crowded at all) and the great location (Beaufort a few minutes away and Charleston was a short day trip). Will be returning!!!!!
