A cozy guest cottage located on two wooded acres shaded by huge live oaks and cooled by gentle marsh breezes. From the screened porch one can see a small marina across the water. Park like grounds with 300'marsh frontage lead to the crabbing dock where you might see dolphin swim by. A new addition is the 589ft dock for fishing or relaxing in the hammock catching the breeze. All just steps from your private pool and front door. PERFECT FOR A TWOSOME OR SMALL FAMILY.( Children over 7 yrs welcome )-
Pets,too,enjoy their vacation with family. They have full run of 2 (two) fenced acres. Need to walk your dog in the early morning?? Just open the door and let him/her out. Unlike the gated communities- DATAW ISLAND,HARBOR ISLAND and FRIPP ISLAND -where they have STRICT leash laws your FIDO can run, play and be a DOG here. What a life !!!! FYI a pet door was added NOV 2009.

Why the Owner Chose St. Helena Island
My husband and I retired from the Pocono Mtns of Penna to the Low Country of South Carolina where we enjoyed the golf and warmer weather. We bought our 2 acre property with our home on it and then he built a guest cottage to accomodate our visiting family members. We loved the charm of nearby Beaufort and the proximity of Charleston and Savannah.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
The luxury of privacy and quietness which is unique these days !!! The pool and courtyard area are for your use exclusively as well as the docks. Crabbing from the docks has been extremely good this year. If you have a boat there is a floating dock attached to the fixed perhead and a ramp is across the road for putting your boat in the water. Also I furnish 2 bicycles . and a pass for the beach at the State Park. Gay friendly

Presently working part time in a golf Pro Shop at a nearby Gated Community. Previously flew internationally as a Flight Attendant for 30 years with PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS. Also had a private pilot license and flew our 114 Rockwell Commander , along with my husband,to various locations for dinner , golf, and vacations. My life now revolves around my 5 rescued dogs (of various breeds) and the COZY COTTAGE. I do also have a rental unit in the North Carolina Mountains.

The Cozy Cottage was the perfect birthday surprise! It was everything and more....clean and in a beautiful location. Jo Ann was more so generous and kind and her "gang" made our trip in more special. Bubba, Riley, Ralph, Jingels and Cammie thank you for being so nice to our 2 fur babies. They loved their stay as well. Loved the area and the history....so glad we were able to go to the Shrimp Shack too. We will come back for another stay. Jo Ann, thank you again for showing us all your collections. It was like leaving a long time friend. I guess 2 retired flight attendants do have some kind of bond! Until next time!

My wonderful husband surprised me with a trip for my birthday to the Cozy Cottage. When we drove up I was so thrilled. It was everything and more. Jo Ann couldn't have been more helpful or attentive. Her gang...Bubba, Riley, Jingles, Cammie and Ralph were the icing on the cake! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We will be back. Our 2 little dogs loved the cottage. Was absolutely perfect. The cottage was clean, lovely, and beautifully located. Very dog friendly, lots and lots of room for my 3 pugs to run, without me having to worry about them getting out. Will definitely be back. Owner on site was just so wonderfully friendly, caring and courteous. Had everything I could have imagined and more. Fantastic!!!

Beautiful, peaceful and private. We spent a relaxing week here with our dog Gabriel - who also had a wonderful time playing in the fully fenced grounds with his new 4-legged friends. The cottage is absolutely immaculate and the grounds are even more beautiful than pictured. Morning coffee on the screened porch watching the sun come up was a great start to each day, and the courtyard is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the quiet and great views of the marsh. We spent part of every day at the Hunting Island State Park beaches, just minutes away. This was a perfect getaway! Thanks Jo Ann, Bubba, Cammie, Jingles, Ralph and Riley - you made us feel right at home.

We are about to wind up a week at the cottage, and are relaxed and refreshed as a result of the experience. The owner is a lovely lady who is anxious to be sure that everything we need is provided. The canine buddies, each in their own way, are sweet and great company for our two four-legged kids. Fishing and hammock on the dock, a dip in the pool, exploring the surrounding area, and room for the pups to run are features that would be hard to match elsewhere. Great vacation.

I really do not begin to know where to start. Utterly amazing is all I can say, not just about the cottage and grounds but especially about the owner. JoAnn and her companions were simlply wonderful, everything you could ever want in a vacation cottage. All the simple things all there waiting on you. Do not visit this cottage if you do not want to feel like part of her family. She made my wife and I feel so welcome. The photos do not do this Garden cottage justice. Its like you are staying in your own little piece of heaven. I am at a loss for words, as words cannot describe the grounds of this lovely cottage and more importantly JoAnn.. I tear up thinking about what a kind and very heartwarming lady JoAnn is. She deserves nothing but blessings in her life for the way she treats people and pets.. We have visited Beaufort many times over the years and we know the area well. This past weekend was the second time we've used VRBO and the first time we've stayed in this cozy cottage. I hope we'll have the time to visit again over the summer. If the cottage, the pool, the 2 fenced acres for our dog, and the the marsh view aren't enough - there's always the hammock (on the covered dock 600 feet out over the marsh). The cottage is close enough to everything to make it convenient for shopping and dinner, but far enough removed to feel like a real vacation. We definitely recommend this spot. A perfect get away for two.
