7 of us, a multi generational family (1 couple, 1single and a family of 2 adults plus 2 children) vacationed at "Island Time" over the Thanksgiving holiday. Everything about this home was perfect. We've spent many Thanksgiving holidays on Chincoteague and rented many homes but this one was among the top. It was the first time we'd been on this side of the island. The views over the Assateague channel are beautiful and with the east face of the house almost entirely windows, you get quite a lot of views. We value privacy and this house felt very private, some neighbors but they are not on top of you. The house is very well laid out, lots of central living space and very comfortable bedrooms. The upstairs suite of rooms includes a spacious sitting area with expansive views that gave additional privacy. The kitchen though small was very well stocked. We easily cooked a thanksgiving meal and a birthday cake! Next time we rent on Chincoteague, this house is easily our first choice.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We rented this for 3 days during the memorial day weekend. We were a group of 7 including 2 kids. The house was tastefully decorated, simple and very spacious. Very close to the beach, driving or riding a bike. Had everything that one would need in terms of cooking, reading, spending time at the house if you wanted to. Felt like a second home. Above all, the owner was extremely helpful with any questions and was always available for any kind of help. Will definitely visit again. Island Time is one of the best rental properties we have found in the Atlantic beaches area. The house has a great layout, wonderful view and terrific location. It is very well stocked and extremely comfortable. We rode our bikes all around Chincoteague Island and we couldn't find any other place we would rather stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My family had a wonderful stay at Island Time. The description of the property is accurate, and the photos show its true appearance. The property is well maintained and very clean, and the owner is very responsive and helpful. Everything we needed and more was right there in the house--it was nice to find games and toys for kids of all ages as well as a lot of reading material. Being in a house directly on the water was so relaxing, and we all left feeling refreshed. Better than recommending this to a friend and family--I took mine with me--and we found a new place to stay when we go. I've been to Chincoteague many times, and for some in our party, it was the first time--we all loved it here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A group of us rented the house for the Columbus Day weekend and it was perfect. It was perfect weather, warm and sunny every day. The sunrises from the deck each morning were amazing. How wonderful if I could wake up to that everyday. House is all it was advertised. Very simply decorated but tasteful and all you need is there. Except no regular oven. It does have a convection/microwave combination and directions are in the pantry cabinet. Otherwise the kitchen is very well stocked with all you would need. On the cool evenings we would sit around the wonderful fireplace and catch up on everyones adventures from the past day. Would recommend this house and location as a wonderful place to visit if you enjoy hiking, sunning on the beautiful beaches and total relaxation.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A terrific house -- plenty of space for our party of 6 adults and one toddler. Beautiful views, well-equipped kitchen, and a gorgeous master bedroom/suite. Our only complaints were some holes in the screens that let bugs in and the lack of WiFi coverage. Overall, a wonderful house in a beautiful place!Owner response: We try to keep up with the screens - we usually do a fix each spring. We go to Chincoteague to get away - so enjoy being 'disconnected'. But we do get quite a few requests for WiFi, so we may consider adding that next season. Thanks for the feedback!

Great home and island! Both exceeded our expectations. The National Park with its wildlife and beach is the perfect place for a family vacation. And the home provided all the privacy and comfort we needed to fully enjoy our vacation. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the sunrises, sunsets, and wildlife (over 350 in total!). I'll recommend this to all my friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Why the Owner Chose Chincoteague:
We built our vacation home in Chincoteague after vacationing there ourselves for years. We wanted to have our own place, with all the comforts of home. We love the natural beauty of the view of Assateague Island, and the long, ever-changing beach at Assateague, and the birds and ponies. We love to enjoy the sunset from the upper deck.
