This property is a wonderful place for an entire family to meet! This was our third year coming back to the same house at Harbor Island. Our families ages range from 5 to 55 (give or take a few years) but his house is perfect for all of us! It is great to see the children to be so excited to stay at the same house year after year. The house makes our vacation so at home and simple for Mom! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook dinner for 4 or 14! I love that there are spices to get you by rather than having to go out and purchase for them for one recipe. The sunsets and wildlife are awesome from all levels of this house. One year we actually made and ABC book of all of the wildlife we saw at Harbor Island! This is a great way to spend family time, to ride bikes spend time at the pool or beach, or just talk. I love the fact that there is no hustle or bustle on Harbor Island! A great Family Vacation!

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous stay at your house! We had a combination of 2 families totalling 11...7 of which were children. We found that there was plenty of room for everyone and enjoyed the spacious kitchen/dining/living area. The proximity to the beach was perfect. We originally thought we would enjoy an oceanfront property, but found that this home had such wonderful, peaceful views of the marsh. Our short walk to the beach took us only minutes and the golf cart was perfect for our trips to the pool. The property/house was clean, although the lower deck furniture is a bit worn and could use "refreshed" or replaced. We loved the upper deck immensely and spent nights star-gazing and listening to what we assumed were alligators in the marsh area. We were a little disappointed with how the pool was closed several days of our stay due to continued problems w/ the filter, but we are hopeful that the plans to redo the pool will be followed thru and completed by summer of 2011!! We enjoyed our trips into Beaufort and followed the recommendation to eat at Plum's restaurant/Oyster Bar. It was great and we loved to atmosphere...especially great considering the number of children w/ us! We had a fantastic time and plan to return!! The golf cart was so nice to have, however would be nice to have bigger one or additional golf cart taking into consideration the size of the home and the number of people that can occupy it at a time; would have made trips to the pool easier with so many children.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed over the 4th of July week and had an incredible time. There was plenty of room for us - 5 adults and 6 kids - to spread out or have meals together or enjoy the beautiful marsh sunsets together on the upper deck. We have rented many beach homes over the years and this one provided the most amenities to make our stay easy and enjoyable - specifically the well-stocked kitchen, the grill, the icemaker, the ENCLOSED outside shower, the elevator, the kayak, and the golf cart. The owners are easy to work with and very helpful and responsive. Harbor Island is great for a laid back, peaceful, kid-friendly vacation, and offers many opportunities to explore nature (beware of jelly fish though-bring sting relief!). I recommend bringing as many groceries with you as possible because the stores on the way in are hectic on check-in days - a midweek trip back (about a 20 minute drive) will be easier and can be timed with a trip to the great 11th Street Dockside restaurant in Port Royal! Definitely check out the Lighthouse on Hunting Island too - fascinating history.

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway.

Fantastic home! Lots of room. Beautiful sunsets. Thanks for the nice golf cart, it made walks on the ocean so easy and enjoyable. Very clean. Great hosts! They were easy to talk with and cared so much about your comfort. Great porches to relax on also.

We had a wonderful vacation on Harbor Island in April 2007. There were 5 generations and there was something for everyone. The house is absolutely beautiful and has everything that you might need. We traveled to Savannah, Beaufort, Parris Island, Hunting Island and Port Royal. The guest book lists wonderful restaurants and lots of tips. Golfing and fishing were great. The beach is wonderful for the children and kayaking. Thank you again for a wonderful family vacation.

EXQUISITE!!! The photos do not even begin to do this outstanding property justice. Harbor Island is a safe, uncommercialized island in which family time and nature can be enjoyed at its finest. This home is beautiful, maximizes every view of the marsh, river and ocean, has every amenity and owners who are not only pleasant and communicate promptly, but even provide cell phone numbers in case they are needed! The furnishings, comforters, cookware, electronics, etc. are all high end; there are plenty of dishes and glasses for a large group; bicycles, beachchairs, a golfcart and even floats are provided. Children can safely amuse themselves; deer, alligators, many birds, tons of dolphins, raccoons and rabbits are everyday occurrences; security is tight. NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PROPERTY!!!

We had a terrific time staying here for our annual New Years Weekend get away. Absolutely loved the house. The beds especially were so comfortable and the owners were easy to work with. Happy to be the one to break in the new gas grill. Would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks so much.

The three generations of our family had a wonderful vacation in this very well-equipped 5 bedroom beach house. We loved the quiet and peacefulness of Harbor Island and the beautiful view of marsh and ocean from the deck. We hope to return.

Sorry about the delay in answering your E-note. We had a wonderful time at your H.I. beach house. Everything went well and we were very confortable. There are only two items for improvement:1) need a few more bathroom towels,and 2)a propane gas grill would be helpful.

This was our first time at this house. We have stayed on Harbor Island for our yearly vacation for the past 12 years. This was the most enjoyable yet. The house was beautiful and so roomy. We've already booked the house for next year!

We have had two family vacations at this beautifully decorated house. Large and comfortable rooms. Great kitchen/dining/living area. We spent a lot of time on the upper deck looking out at the expansive marsh. Lots of birds. Very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the beach & ocean, the pretty community pool, tennis, and our many golf cart rides! Really nice memories.

The house was great! It really has 6 bedrooms if you count the loft. We enjoyed the Hunting Island State Park because it reminded us of the beaches in Hawaii which was only 10 minutes away.

We have rented this house twice and have truly enjoyed each trip! The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We had 6 adults and 3 kids on each trip. Great views from the deck and porch. Harbor Island is an unspoiled, peaceful get away. We'll be back!

The house was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the open kitchen and living area and of course the beach and the osprey nest. The view is great, and we had everything we needed. Harbor Island is perfect for biking, walking, tennis and swimming. This is our second time here, and I'm sure it won't be our last!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. We wish we had scheduled more time there. The house is very comfortable and it was a wonderful family experience to be together. The ammenities were great. We especially enjoyed our time visiting on the back porch. The only downside was that the bikes tires were not aired so that the children could ride them.

Owner response:Unfortunately the beach air is tough on bike tires which is a problem. We check on them whenever we are there. We do have a pump there now if the problem is just low air and we've added one more bike...hopefully this will help.
