Le Sabatier, set in one hectare of natural woodland and parterred garden above the old hamlet of Tornac, approximately two kilometres from Anduze. The house sits in superb, tranquil gardens with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.
It offers excellent accommodation and is decorated and furnished to a high standard with every comfort imaginable. The property is set amongst vineyards and olive groves. The fenced swimming pool will be completed by June, 2005.
The house is managed by an English speaking Manager who lives permanently in the next village: it has security shutters, locks and security lighting and gates.

The furnishing of the house is a mixture of new and antique and all bedrooms have proper storage and hanging space for clothes. There are electric shutters on most of the windows and doors. The house has a wood burning stove and central heating, so is ideal for a winter's break for skiing and walking in the Cevennes.
Outside the house, new terraces have been formed - these are mainly lawns with many different fruit trees: figs, apricots, mulberries, plums, crab-apples, cherries, black-currants, vines. Chairs are provided for around the swimming pool, which will be enclosed with fencing in accordance with French Law.
There are five parterres enjoying different vegetation with woodland of northern oaks which come up to the side of the house. A children’s playhouse at the bottom of the garden makes it a haven for all the family. We counted 23 species of butterfly during June/July: the nightingales will keep you awake in May!
The house is comprehensively equipped with: Washing machine, dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave, two refrigerator/freezers, central heating, wood-burner, TV and DVD, barbecue, private pool (for sole use of guests). All linen is included, child’s cot can be provided on request.

Tornac is situated a few kilometres from Anduze, the gateway to the Cévennes; this is a thriving town with restaurants, two supermarkets, cafes; an excellent market on Thursdays, a flea market on Sundays and a steam railway that will take you up to St. Jean du Gard.
Hire a bike in town or follow in the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson into the Cévennes National Park on a donkey. Visit the giant grottos, the Bambouseraie park (the biggest collection of bamboos in Europe) or just chill at one of the local cafes and see the world go by. |
