Here's what guests have to say about Chez Aimee:

“Chez Aimee was a fantastic place to stay. The location is superb. My wife was in D.C. on business and I spent the days sight-seeing. The metro is close, making the entire city easily accessible, and the neighborhood dining is world-class. I'll never stay or recommend anywhere else in the DC area. Chez Aimee was perfect!" - Jacob, Bloomington, Indiana.

"Yours is simply the most tastefully and lovingly and exquisitely furnished and romantic condo we have ever experienced. The personal attention that you gave us was unique in our experience, and we have stayed in quite a number of B&Bs over the years. Look for us again next year, we are firmly planning on it!" - Claudia Berg, Altdorf, Germany.

Here's what we have to say: Let us help make your Washington, DC experience the best ever.

Whether for a weekend, a week, or months on end, experience Washington, DC the way the natives do. Why the Owner Chose Washington

Chez Aimee was my home for many years - my friends always loved coming over, and no matter what city I lived in somehow the name 'Chez Aimee' kept popping up. Adams Morgan is my favorite neighborhood in Washington, DC, which is one of my favorite cities in the world. I always want to have a home base here to come back to, and in the meantime, my husband Jeffrey and I live nearby.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium

For me, Chez Aimee always brings a sense of peace and relaxation. I love waking up in the morning in the soft velvety 'cave' of the bedroom, and lying there in quiet contemplation. When I am ready, the next best part is making my way to the other world of the living room, which glows with vibrant sunshine streaming through huge windows.

On the weekend, I like to take my coffee perched on the sofa in the window and just watch the kaleidoscope of people and animals (usually dogs) going by. Then I might to meander over and have a nice brunch at Cashion's, and maybe take a walk through Rock Creek Park to the beautiful gardens at Dumbarton Oaks.

The best part? Everything is so close and easy to get to. I can walk to the White House (I did it every day for work for many years), visit museums, and hear live music, all without ever needing a car.

Owner's Map of Washington

Years ago when I graduated from High School, I followed the plan I'd made back in the fourth grade and took off for Paris for a year. I spent the year traveling all over Europe, mostly on my own. I finally went back to the states for college, but couldn't stay away for long; I spent a summer as a shopgirl in Dinant, Belgium and my junior year studying Political Science in Toulouse. Now I run a child advocacy non-profit in Washington, and I am married to a fellow travel-lover. Jeffrey was in the Peace Corps in Honduras and taught English in Chile, and we honeymooned in Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand.

    • My husband and I just returned from a 3-night stay at Chez Aimee and have nothing but glorious feedback for anyone planning a trip to DC. The accommodation was decorated with an aesthetic eye for charm and comfort with a splash of the exotic! Everything we needed was there, from Aveda hair products in the shower to coffee beans ready to grind for our morning ritual! Perfection in a place we could call "home" for our stay. The neighborhood proved to be fascinating and has its own personality with some fun restaurants and shops. So all in all, a perfect combination of owner attentiveness and preparation with a beautiful accommodation in an ideal setting for exploring the sights and history of DC. We hope to return many times!

    • First of all, this was our second visit to Chez Aimee, which maybe says it all. We loved the modernized interior and the various features even more than last time. It is always a pleasure if everything needed is there, that everything works and everything is top notch quality, like the new bed which is fabulous!!! But we have to add that, in addition to the charms of the Adams Morgan neighborhood, we were thrilled with the newly opened shopping center/mall that we found to be within reasonable walking distance from the apartment. Our sole disappointment was the Ethiopian restaurant which we tried out on our own, but that may be a matter of taste. Chez Aimee is the most charming place we have every stayed at!

      Homeowner Response:
We love our dear friends from Germany!

    • Dear Amy, Thank you for the lovely note, received today. Jeanie and I had a fantastic time in DC, enhanced in great measure by staying at Chez Aimee. It reinforced our feelings that staying in an apartment or home, is so much more rewarding than any hotel. DC is such a dynamic and interesting city, I feel we barely scratched the surface with just five days to explore. And, as wonderful as downtown and the Mall are for architecture, culture and history, we greatly enjoyed walking around "our" neighborhood, shopping for food to bring home, or dining out. We plan on returning soon, Roger and Jeanie

    • Amy and Jeff, Sorry it has taken us so long to write to tell you what a wonderful time we had staying at Chez Aimee. Thanks so much for the wonderful warm welcome and the lovely wine. We so enjoyed our stay… Dinner at Lauriol Plaza Friday night and Cashion’s Eat Place on Saturday – both fantastic and within walking distance!! The fireplace was such a nice romantic touch and the apartment is so cozy and well appointed! We really enjoyed our romantic Valentine's weekend away. Dan and Cheryl

    • This was our first time doing a vacation rental we found on-line, and we were nervous about what we'd find when we arrived, esp since it was all prepaid. Well we got over that in about 5 minutes. This is a great apartment in every way: charming, spacious and very convenient location. Easily accomodated 2 adults with teenage daughter in the living room. Very nicely renovated. Very comfortable and well equipped. Fabulous quiet bedroom. The best part was the great location: easy walk to dozens of restaurants, DuPont Circle, etc. The only bad part was difficulty parking the car: you pretty much have to use the commerical garage since during weekdays there are only 2 hour parking zones, on the weekends there are no parking spaces. We were happy to return the rental car and get out on foot. Chez Aimee is delightful and, we thought, a good value, too.

    • We enjoyed the most wonderful stay at Chez Aimee. We came to DC for the Inauguration and stayed for a week. It felt like home as soon as we arrived. The interior is as charming as can be and the Adams Morgan neighborhood it is situated in is fabulous. When we arrived, there was a bottle of wine waiting and we felt instantly welcome. Amy has created a great guest guide to the neighborhood including dining, grocery shopping, and getting around DC. Their are tons of great restaurants of all varieties right around the corner and the Metro is easy to get to. It is quite, peaceful, and comfortable. Chez Aimee was the perfect home base for our DC adventure and we would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Washington. We loved it!!

    • We really enjoyed Chez Aimee. When one books something over the Internet, even with photos, one doesn't know exactly what will be found. The lure to be a city-dweller and live like a local for the week convinced us to give it a try. The biggest surprise and delight was how quiet the bedroom was and how perfectly arranged for sleeping! With the bedroom on the back of the flat, without the morning sun, with the cover of the buildings outside, the additional room-darkening curtains, the coolness of the room and being on the top floor, it gave such a peaceful respite! We had such a wonderful mixture of dining in and dining out. Our son lives about a 12 - 15 minute walk down 18th in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Whether we were going to the metro - 10 minutes away to travel to downtown, or walking down the hill to meet him, we were never far away from the action! We have friends who live out in the suburbs, Chantilly and Vienna. They enjoyed metroing in, coming to our place and then us showing them around the area. They commented that, though they've lived in the DC area for 25 years, they never had this experience. We were able to introduce them to the city! All the special touches you put around the place made it so convenient to come and set up for a while. There is plenty of room to store suitcases under the bed, hang clothes in the closet, put things in the drawers to save from tripping over items!! We enjoyed your artwork. The placement of the Klimt print in the bathroom was an especially nice touch. The quaint furniture with storage is a great addition!

    • We stayed at Chez Aimee with our 8 year old son. We couldn't have been more comfortable. It was much nicer and more comfortable (and cheaper) than a hotel. The condo was on a quiet street. The neighborhood was lively and fun. The walk to the Metro was close enough and offered opportunities to shop and dine along the way. Aimee and Jeffery were very available, responsive and eager to offer a recommendation for a restaurant. We loved it and would stay here again.

    • THOUGHTS ON CHEZ AIMEE It’s a sweet and gracious space, Filled with love wherever you look. Amy isn’t here, Yet she truly is. As witnessed by the fresh roses In dappled sunlight, And a chilled bottle of wine waiting With a festive red bow. You see love and welcome everywhere: In the thick, white towels Meticulously hung on the bathroom rack, In the guitar quietly sitting on its stand Waiting to come to life, In the luxurious linens and maroon velvet On the antique four poster bed And, most of all, In the detailed notebook that unveils the Eclectic splendor of the Adams/Morgan Neighborhood And Washington D.C. to the uninitiated. Everything you need to know About this special place is at your fingertips, Beautifully presented Along with Exquisite attention to your comfort and pleasure. Love lives in the doing, not the saying. Never more true than for the lucky guests Who find their way to Chez Aimee. Meredith Wiley July 2008
