We just returned from staying 8 nights in this wonderful home. In todays times of really good marketing you sometimes get a product that does not live up to it's hype. Not in this case! From the initial email asking Amy questions through to booking and the visit it was more than advertised! It was almost a case of "under promise and over deliver". From the personlized welcome note with wine and flowers to the amazing sheets and fluffy white towels and more....it was the best VRBO we've stayed in to date. Great location!!!!!! Best thing I could say is that we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else should we ever have the opportunity to visit the amazing capitol of the USA again.

Amy and Jeffrey, I just wanted to thank you again for being so kind about my coming in a few days ahead of time. Your place is just lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was so fun just being a local. You have made your unit so attractive and just so warm and inviting. I could have stayed there permanently!!! In fact, I wish I had known about your place before - I have stayed at a couple other VRBO's in the area and nothing even comes close to yours. I felt so much at home and will definitely contact you my next trip out! Take care and thanks again ........ Jan

Our stay was more than we ever expected. The location was perfect, close enough (via the bus) to all the sites, and then the wonderful ambience of the Adams Morgan area when we came back at night. The condo was very cozy with all the amenities that you would ever need. We also appreciated all the written information that is provided at the condo when you arrive. Thank you again for sharing your home. Chris and Sheila

My wife and I Stayed here from July 17-21,2010. Its a great location , easy to get to most of the usual site seeing spots yet far enough out of the way to afford a quiet , safe and interesting local area ( Adams Morgan) The apartment is extremely tasteful in all the little extras that you will appreciate. Very comfortable for a couple or small family. The host is easy to work with and helpful without being intrusive. I believe it is affordable , especially when compared to the nightly rates hotels are charging in the Dc downtown. We would stay again L& K

This was my first time doing anything like this. I found the experience fabulous. Our stay was wonderful. The location was perfect, the property was romantic and clean. It was everything you could ask for, much better than staying at a hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone who was visiting Washington DC. It was perfect! The owner was great. She had a packet of information that answered all your questions about food, travel, and transportation. It just made it so easy for us to get around. This property was outstanding. I would go there again. It was the best and ideally located to everything you could possibly need. A Terrific Place!!!!!!!!!!!

Owners were extremely courteous and flexible. Our stay was fantastic. I would recommend highly to friends and family looking for an alternative to hotels.

My husband and I spent 7 nights in this very lovely condo in the Adams/Morgan neighborhood of DC. We loved the neighborhood as it reminded us of Lincoln Park in Chicago. Lots of decorating touches and comforts were appreciated. This is a lovely old building with wooden floors and wood trim. The bathroom has been completely redone and the bed is comfortable but high off the ground. Amy was so helpful through emails and phone calls and lots of tips on how to make use of public transportation and the neighborhood. It was in the 90's the whole time we were there and the a/c was excellent as was the TV, when I needed to be in and off my feet and out of the heat for a few hours on the oh so comfy sofa! Kitchen is very tiny but sufficient. Many neighborhood restaurants and a Starbucks, CVS Pharmacy, Safeway and McDonalds quite close. We loved having drinks and apps about 5 pm at a Greek sidewalk cafe just steps from the Woodley Park Metro Station. WE also enjoyed dinner there one night as well as at The Heights around the corner on Calvert and Mixtech Mexican food on Columbia. My only caution is that this is not a condo for children and it is a second floor with no elevator.

My husband & I spent 5 nights in this condo and it was wonderful! We were in D.C. for our 30th wedding anniversary. What a delightful place to come back to after busy days of touring the D.C. area, so much better than a hotel room. We drove and parked in the lot a few blocks away, but didn't mind that at all, true city living! Amy was very accomidating and left great directions on where to go and how to get there. We would definitely reccomend this to anyone who wants a place to stay in the D.C. area!

Your place is such a nicely equipped, neat and tidy, quiet, centrally located warm place and is conveniently located for walking or public transit. I thank you for answering ALL of my emails in a very timely manner; being so helpful; incredibly forthcoming and informative; and most of all for being so nice. And thank you for letting us stay in your lovely apartment. You are a wonderful and delightful hostess. We actually lived and felt like DC natives with the metro (subway), nightlife, restaurants, grocery store, funky shops and international flavor too right around the corner. We certainly did not need a car and we won’t rent one next time. Chez Aimee is perfectly suited for business travel and/or an enjoyable vacation. Again, thanks.

My wife and I stayed for a week during blossom time at Chez Aimee and we had a great time. The flat is best described as very comfortable and relaxing after a hard day touring Washington. The flat is located within easy walking distance of grocery stores, neat restaurants, the Metro and bus lines. The rooms were nicely decorated in keeping with the surrounding area. Amy was very accommodating. I would recommend this flat to anyone. If you go to washington in blossom time be prepared for hords of people on the Red and Blue Metro lines. I would suggest taking the bus from the flat to the Mall. It may take a bit longer but the advantage is you can sightsee.

My husband and I just returned from a 3-night stay at Chez Aimee and have nothing but glorious feedback for anyone planning a trip to DC. The accommodation was decorated with an aesthetic eye for charm and comfort with a splash of the exotic! Everything we needed was there, from Aveda hair products in the shower to coffee beans ready to grind for our morning ritual! Perfection in a place we could call "home" for our stay. The neighborhood proved to be fascinating and has its own personality with some fun restaurants and shops. So all in all, a perfect combination of owner attentiveness and preparation with a beautiful accommodation in an ideal setting for exploring the sights and history of DC. We hope to return many times!

First of all, this was our second visit to Chez Aimee, which maybe says it all. We loved the modernized interior and the various features even more than last time. It is always a pleasure if everything needed is there, that everything works and everything is top notch quality, like the new bed which is fabulous!!! But we have to add that, in addition to the charms of the Adams Morgan neighborhood, we were thrilled with the newly opened shopping center/mall that we found to be within reasonable walking distance from the apartment. Our sole disappointment was the Ethiopian restaurant which we tried out on our own, but that may be a matter of taste. Chez Aimee is the most charming place we have every stayed at!
Owner response:We love our dear friends from Germany!

Dear Amy, Thank you for the lovely note, received today. Jeanie and I had a fantastic time in DC, enhanced in great measure by staying at Chez Aimee. It reinforced our feelings that staying in an apartment or home, is so much more rewarding than any hotel. DC is such a dynamic and interesting city, I feel we barely scratched the surface with just five days to explore. And, as wonderful as downtown and the Mall are for architecture, culture and history, we greatly enjoyed walking around "our" neighborhood, shopping for food to bring home, or dining out. We plan on returning soon, Roger and Jeanie

This was our first time doing a vacation rental we found on-line, and we were nervous about what we'd find when we arrived, esp since it was all prepaid. Well we got over that in about 5 minutes. This is a great apartment in every way: charming, spacious and very convenient location. Easily accomodated 2 adults with teenage daughter in the living room. Very nicely renovated. Very comfortable and well equipped. Fabulous quiet bedroom. The best part was the great location: easy walk to dozens of restaurants, DuPont Circle, etc. The only bad part was difficulty parking the car: you pretty much have to use the commerical garage since during weekdays there are only 2 hour parking zones, on the weekends there are no parking spaces. We were happy to return the rental car and get out on foot. Chez Aimee is delightful and, we thought, a good value, too.

My husband and I spent one week of comfort in Chez Aimee. Loved the decor and the convenience to the eclectic neighborhood. Only one drawback and that is the traffic noise from the street. Not a problem if no one is sleeping in the living room. The bedroom is quiet, comfortable and beautiful. Enjoy.

We enjoyed the most wonderful stay at Chez Aimee. We came to DC for the Inauguration and stayed for a week. It felt like home as soon as we arrived. The interior is as charming as can be and the Adams Morgan neighborhood it is situated in is fabulous. When we arrived, there was a bottle of wine waiting and we felt instantly welcome. Amy has created a great guest guide to the neighborhood including dining, grocery shopping, and getting around DC. Their are tons of great restaurants of all varieties right around the corner and the Metro is easy to get to. It is quite, peaceful, and comfortable. Chez Aimee was the perfect home base for our DC adventure and we would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Washington. We loved it!!

We really enjoyed Chez Aimee. When one books something over the Internet, even with photos, one doesn't know exactly what will be found. The lure to be a city-dweller and live like a local for the week convinced us to give it a try. The biggest surprise and delight was how quiet the bedroom was and how perfectly arranged for sleeping! With the bedroom on the back of the flat, without the morning sun, with the cover of the buildings outside, the additional room-darkening curtains, the coolness of the room and being on the top floor, it gave such a peaceful respite! We had such a wonderful mixture of dining in and dining out. Our son lives about a 12 - 15 minute walk down 18th in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Whether we were going to the metro - 10 minutes away to travel to downtown, or walking down the hill to meet him, we were never far away from the action! We have friends who live out in the suburbs, Chantilly and Vienna. They enjoyed metroing in, coming to our place and then us showing them around the area. They commented that, though they've lived in the DC area for 25 years, they never had this experience. We were able to introduce them to the city! All the special touches you put around the place made it so convenient to come and set up for a while. There is plenty of room to store suitcases under the bed, hang clothes in the closet, put things in the drawers to save from tripping over items!! We enjoyed your artwork. The placement of the Klimt print in the bathroom was an especially nice touch. The quaint furniture with storage is a great addition!

We stayed at Chez Aimee with our 8 year old son. We couldn't have been more comfortable. It was much nicer and more comfortable (and cheaper) than a hotel. The condo was on a quiet street. The neighborhood was lively and fun. The walk to the Metro was close enough and offered opportunities to shop and dine along the way. Aimee and Jeffery were very available, responsive and eager to offer a recommendation for a restaurant. We loved it and would stay here again.

Instead of crowding our small apartment with out- of-town in-laws, we annexed Chez Aimee as a guesthouse. It was absolutely fabulous; in fact, it's so lovely there that they actually wound up inviting us to "their" house more often than coming to our house! Thank you so much for offering this wonderful solution to the perennial problem of where to house guests when you have no guestroom. Peace reigned throughout the visit, and we'll never do it any other way.

We LOVED staying at Chez Aimee! The place itself had so many nice touches:warm ambient lighting, lots of good books and music, sensual decor, a comfortable bed, nice glassware and dishes, and a good homey feel. It was wonderful to come home to after a full, tiring day of sightseeing. The location was terrific as well. The Adams Morgan neighborhood was attractive and had good ethnic restaurants. It was easy to use our 7 day metro pass at the nearby metro station. Amy, the owner, was incredibly pleasant and efficient before, during, and after our visit. Her clear and helpful written instructions about everything we needed to know to make our stay pleasant were outstanding. We cannot say enough good things about our wonderful trip to Washington D.D. It was easy to really feel at home, with the completeness of everything and the very quiet location. The materials you provided in advance surely are the most complete by far that we have ever seen, AND they were accurate. The personal attention that you gave us was unique in our experience, and we have stayed in quite a number of B&Bs over the years. The surprise in the refrigerator really was most timely, much appreciated and excellent. Look for us again next year, we are firmly planning on it!
